  • IT'S TIME FOR A TREEHOUSE!!! We have a house to live in, and we have a shop (or the frame, anyway) for Dad to live in. :) Now it is time for the kids to build a treehouse. But Sadie says they're not going to live in it...??
Sadie is 5, Stella is 9, and Milo is 10, and they all bring different strengths to the job. (Okay, mostly Sadie just brings her cute outfits. 😂 😂 ) But of course, the Best. Dad. Ever. is running the show.
    Enjoy!

    Here's the raspberry lemonade:
Take the juice of two large lemons and 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of sugar (depends on your taste) and muddle with a few handfuls of raspberries. We had a mix of red and black raspberries but I'm sure it doesn't matter. Add water and ice up to 1/2 gallon and shake to mix. You can strain the berry bits out if you like or leave them in.
    Love from the Little House,

About the Fouch Family: We are Nick and Esther, and our three kids Milo, Stella, and Sadie. We have lived off the grid -- in the sense of not connected to the power grid -- for five years on three acres of wooded land in Southwestern Idaho. Nick is a finish carpenter working on building his own business. Esther is a writer, the author of a recent memoir called "What Falls From the Sky," and a daughter of the homesteading teacher and activist Carla Emery, who wrote "The Encyclopedia of Country Living." Nick and Esther were both raised in Idaho, near where we live now, but we've also lived in Massachusetts, Utah, and California. Our kids are ages 10, 9 and 5.
