Okay, frankly, Mrs Sowerberry was really great. She was actually in pitch for all of the notes, its just her voice matching the character that could make it sound otherwise. They're clearly not American or English, so you can cut them slack for pronunciation (which was pretty good, considering they probably grew up speaking a different language!) and the accents. And just sayin', LOVED her laugh at the end!
I liked it. At least I could hear the singers without the musicians burying them. Never mind the pun. So many of these videos, I couldn't make out all of the words for the loudness of the band/orchestra.
I played the role years ago. I had wanted to play Sikes and was rather pissed-off about being cast as Mr. Sowerberry, but I ended up having a great time in the part and a fun physical relationship with "Mrs. Sowerberry"! Enjoy mate!
Mr. Sowerberry seemed.....Ionno. To me his expression just seemed more amused and happy, than twisted and morbid like I'd expect it would be. But Mrs. Sowerberry was amazing, although I think the evil laugh at the end seemed a little over done and unneccessary ^^: --- I almost completely agree. But I think she was hovering just above the tone she shuld have been. She shuld have been belting a bit more like she was on her last "No one else's funeral" because her nasaly voice sounded to fake.
Yeah. Unhealty for an untrained voice, her's sound's pretty trained to me. Almost all of the girls in my choir can do it fine w/out hurting themselves. Don't get me wrong, this was amazing. I've just become a bit critical sense I first started choir and got into musicals.
Okay, Mrs. Sowerberry? Actually, she was pretty good. This is musical theatre, not just singing to be singing. The point is to hit the notes and be heard. She hit the notes, she sure could be heard and she added to her character - the CHARACTER is a "horrible" singer.
Just watched another scene from this same show. Of course they have accents that aren't cockney and have some pronunciation issues, they did the rest of the show in a different language for god's sake!
this is actually quite legendary, in it's own way....nice job
loved it! great energy and mrs sowerberry has a fantastic character voice well done!
That laugh at the end was great !!! :> It added the right touch!!
o_o
Mrs. Sowerberry terrifies me. And I thought our actress for her in our performance played her well :P
Great job!

I've always hated Mrs. Sowerberry for how she treated Oliver, but I -for some very odd reason- can't help from loving her in this song.
@TheGreeneyedchick ????? what do you mean?

Does the guy know that Oliver! is set in London? ... as in NOT an american accent. The person playing Oliver didn't act it very well I thought...
well thank you. were you in this?
Mrs Sowerberries voice is painful
@Shangadora Cockney accents are easy..
They had to do the song in english.
And PatrickLMT is right. This section should be in English accents, and they're not doing bad at all.
Just watched another scene from this same show. Of course they have accents that aren't cockney and have some pronunciation issues, they did the rest of the show in a different language for god's sake!
Bro they're Austrian. This is very impressive for a school musical
Theyre austrian, actually.
The guy is a good singer but not a good actor, but that girl is very good
they're german, i think its impressive..you try singing in bloody german
Austrian*
how embarrassing, the chorus is better than the two leads :P
Mr. Sowerberry has a terrible fake American accent. lol
Nope.
Gosh people stop being so critical. I thought that was a very good performance. Yes maybe it wasn't perfect but could you do any better?
This musical is always terrible lol
this mrs sowerbury is awful
