I can see us in a car Taking speed It was the last day of June And through windscreen I see The frosties on the ground But the sun is shining I thought you would have known It's hard to explain But I thought you would have seen Things don't have to change When you say it's time to grow up And you say what we had was not enough But oh, you're wrong If you care to look, you'd see it's not all gone There's no answer as we both know And though I'm willing to try There's no way through the dark That separates you from me I thought you would have known It's hard to explain But I thought you would have seen Things don't have to change Don't be angry, don't be sad Don't let this song make you feel mad Just think about how it could be Not just talking about you and me Just think about the way you treat your friends It's frightening when this might end But if you're determined to go Then let's at least say goodbye
I found this Twee Pop compilation, years ago. And downloaded every song. I deeply love this magic wonderful list of bands and tracks. Thank you, so mucho for this delicious work. Hugs..!!!!! :D
This genre is known as Twee pop. Tons of music that has a similar vibe. I would also suggest the band Beulah, who have similar styles of trumpet and aesthetics
Check out the band Nice (not 'The Nice'). They may have even had some members in common with these guys. "Dear John" is really a great song, and their songs Theme from Nice and Circuit Diagram appeared on The Adventures of Pete and Pete.
@@dalmerful As a relative beginner, I might just have learned about guitar intonation. I'm surprised I didn't find out about this matter sooner. Thanks for the answer and chords btw !

Taking speed
It was the last day of June
And through windscreen I see
The frosties on the ground
But the sun is shining
I thought you would have known
It's hard to explain
But I thought you would have seen
Things don't have to change
When you say it's time to grow up
And you say what we had was not enough
But oh, you're wrong
If you care to look, you'd see it's not all gone
There's no answer as we both know
And though I'm willing to try
There's no way through the dark
That separates you from me
I thought you would have known
It's hard to explain
But I thought you would have seen
Things don't have to change
Don't be angry, don't be sad
Don't let this song make you feel mad
Just think about how it could be
Not just talking about you and me
Just think about the way you treat your friends
It's frightening when this might end
But if you're determined to go
Then let's at least say goodbye
The Cranberries with less than half the budget but twice the heart
Less than 1/16th the budget and way less bullshit
such a sweet thing to listen to

It's too bad that the vocals aren't hotter in the mix. The singers aren't bad, but it's a shame that the instruments are burying them. :(
chords?
