I also like your content. You are not the beast of 4x, but it doesn't matter. You nicely explain everything and not simply "That's meta. Let's do this".
There's tons of players who play on max difficulty, no scaling, and are way better at the game than I am. I like a little flavor, and to not have to work like crazy just to keep up. I like to be challenged, not beaten mercilessly lol.
I love your content! But the save scum is hard to take! I know u felt like crap after getting ambushed by those spiders. But coming back from something like that is the absolute greatest!
Don't know if it was brought up in the failed scenario but this map really bleeds your resources between Unlimited Power increasing the cost of combat spells and High Maintenance increasing the unit upkeep.
I figured it out near the end of part 1 of this realm. I was going crazy trying to figure out how I had crippled my economy opener so badly compared to other games. I totally forgot "high maintenance" was a thing.
I don't usually export the failed runs, unless they're really interesting or something unique happens. The first attempt we ended up next to a gold infestation, dragon nest. We couldn't clear it early, so it ended up just growing out of control all game.

Druidic, or Cryomancer staff are good starting weapon options, weaken scary things, or freeze a target for a turn
