I got an error: when restart the vm after install ms office, I disconect my floppy disk and type win. Then it open the windows logo and then i have to type win all over again but win 3.1 still doesn't start. HELP ;-;
I installed office and Ami Pro. Then the next day. It would load MS- Dos. I type Win and it flash the Windows 3.1 Screen and the screen turns black… I just reinstall it… it is working good. This time I am not using ‘Suspend Guest” option. Just shut down guest. I have the floppy not connected and left blank connect at power on.. Cd autodetect Make sure to “Exit Windows” then it goes to C:\>dir… then Shut down guest from menu bar
During the installation for the sound card, I get an error: "Wrong Base I/O Address or Audio Card is not detected at 220H," and it's a similar error when I choose the remaining levels. What could be the problem?
make sure you put the sound card in the floppy disk tab , not cd/dvd. also make sure that you check connected and connect at power on , then if it's working you can uncheck those boxes.

go in your bios settings and look out for intel VT-x or something which has vm in its description. turn it on and you can use the vm without any difficulties
IF we follow your tutorial as accurately as we can, after installing MS Office 4.3, we get this error - Creative Mixer auxiliary device driver is not loaded. Subsequent boot-ups failed to load the driver despite SYSTEM.INI file showing AUX, MIXER, and DRIVERS=MSMIXMGR.DLL all present. But in your prebuild, how did you manage to install MS Office 4.3 while avoiding the sound card error?
Maybe your file is corrupted.. download the sound driver again. And make sure you allow an exemption of workstation in Windows Firewall and your antivirus
i installed ms dos 7.1 and windows 3.1 it worked. after installing vga drivers resolution changed. but after installing sound drivers and after restarting it got stuck forever
You can enable networking but can't even transfer files locally. There is a work around by using Browservice from github and running it on another linux VM. Then connecting the two VMs internally. github.com/ttalvitie/browservice/

isn't it windows 3.11 or windows 3.1 because when I looked at 5:05 it was Microsoft windows for workgroups 3.11
