i love that initially it is techno dark music, then glamorous dance pop "fearless", then some kind of japanese 80s pop "blue flame", then punk rock "great mermaid" and finally indie rnb "sour grapes". and they saved this sound and structure for the second album. i think this group is the best rookie this year, fight me
i feel like hybe is aiming to attract the korean gp more as these songs aren't much more on the kpop side but are the type that the non-kpop fans tend to listen. sour grapes is a great example as it lowkey sounds like what an indie korean artist would release. i really love the sound they're going for :>
it's hybe after all, they tend to experiment with sounds on their groups' debuts to see which suits others' taste more, more likely than not Le Sserafim's music direction will change with each comeback. Plus the girls have amazing vocals, very sweet sounding I might say, so it's obvious they will want to utilize their voices in different ways. I am so excited for future music from Le Sserafim

Blue Flame and The Great Mermaid ARE SO GOOD. I'm obsessed with the "Will O The Wisp" part of the Blue Flame chorus and the "na na na na na na na" part of the Great Mermaid! And the lyrics are awesome too. Reallly good debut mini album and the runway concept is one of my faves concepts

This song will be something inspired me on bad day. 2) Sour Grapes: it is so relaxing to hear that song. I think i will hear Sour Grapes in the morning with a warm coffee, preparing next day.
