Ive never managed to catch yellow tail, no idea how to find them. Good catch

Hey Daxtor stuff, I've noticed during spring time is when I've caught them only. They feed on the small micro baits just like the tuna and spotted mackeral during spring.
Sometimes hard like a bust up, other times just like fusiliers with a little disturbance around some reef edge. Bait jigs work well.
If they're around it seems the spanish are around aswell snacking on them.

I always thought those yellow tails were just small golden trevally lol

Hey kizzjd they are very similar look, I thought the same at first. The scad have a hard boney tail like a GT but golden trevally don't. That's probably the biggest difference. Also the scad have very small teeth rather than blubber lips.
Top spanish mack baits next time you catch one send it out!

Quick question ? Dont you have alot of your piano wire traces kink on your knots and breaks of at the hook

Hey Danies, I've actually never had a piano wire break, the not is called the haywire twist. Seems to have worked well for me over the stranded type.
The single strand wire can get curled up after a fish or 2 and I'll often make a new one of have a couple ready to go. I'm using 69lb single strand.

Hi William sorry not much help, not exactly sure on the rulings fishing in the marina near the boats.
Some good fish are caught off the boat ramp at times so I an imagine some decent fish around
