Hi Phil, great video. Parramatta has never looked better. You mentioned about knocking the pole there. That reminds me of the day I was attending the opening of the Route 75 extension down here to the K-Mart years ago. I walked backwards into a pole and apologised to it, before actually realising what I had bumped into. The Parramatta Square stop looks very impressive. Anyway, take care. Rob in Melbourne Australia.
Thank you Phil, very enjoyable video, look forward to the trams in full service. Interesting article in the August Railway Digest about possible future expansion.
@@sydneytrainsvlogs thanks phil. there's also some interesting rail signs there like "rts". if you can ask one of the staff or perhaps on opening day that would be good!
I can cope with the delay in the Metro opening, but missing a coffee mention in a Phil video - sacrilege. lol. One of my mates lives in Carlingford area, beside the line and has commented how quiet it is now. Cheers
Nice video. Just interested in how these trams are powered since there is no overhead electric lines like Melbourne and L2 trams that I’ve seen. Do you know?
Maybe opening very soon, I live in Parramatta and saw two being tested today (08 August) and all the 'Do not board' and 'Testing' stickers have been removed from all the windows.
The only thing that would delay the opening for the Parramatta light rail would be the ongoing pay dispute between the firefighters and the government. Let's just hope that it gets sorted out very quickly
There may be times where i travel so i’ll share these videos as appropriate. The channel name means Sydney Based (but travel world wide) Trains as the main video content Vlogs - Video Logs
the set looks great without advertising.
Hopefully they stay that way :)

Good video phil at Parramatta light rail
Love the urban sounds. Feel like I'm there with you.
Thank you! :)

Nice! 👍
Hey Phil,
Where does the tram get its power from? I do not see a 'third rail' like you see in Sydney CBD?
Hey mate!
In this area the Tram uses stored battery power until it reaches another area with overhead power.
@@sydneytrainsvlogs Hey Phil,
Thank you for the clarification :)
Wow that is painfully slow, hoping it speeds up within the next few years! Parra is looking great though
It is definitely slow however the Sydney CBD ones are so much slower lol
Excellent video Phil
Thank you :)
@@sydneytrainsvlogs no worries 😉
I think the Parramatta light might open between 22nd of August and 4 of September
notice phil the rail signals are different to l1 and l2/3 lines. interesting design.
Ooo i didn’t notice that, i’ll have a proper look when i’m along the line this week :)
@@sydneytrainsvlogs thanks phil. there's also some interesting rail signs there like "rts". if you can ask one of the staff or perhaps on opening day that would be good!
Ooohie my fave type of coffee esp that one ❤
Super Tramway, aber ohne Oberleitung??😊
nice vid phill!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh much quieter than the trains i’d imagine!

On-board batteries in the sections without catenary
Also a charging station at Westmead terminus.
@@peterelveryoh wow batteries, very interesting. Thanks 👍
When will it open?
Hopefully late this month or next month all going well
You mean the EEL4 light rail! 🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣 good one!
I just realised these Urbos 100s, along with the 3s have an above cab headlight
Maybe opening very soon, I live in Parramatta and saw two being tested today (08 August) and all the 'Do not board' and 'Testing' stickers have been removed from all the windows.
I would have got on
Do these trams ever pick up some speed, or is it another snail rail episode?
Of course they do, when they aren't in mixed traffic and pedestrian zones
@@peterelvery we'll see, probably along the old Carlingford corridor, might get up to 50 kmh.
@@harrygoldun5779 70 actually
I got run over by this tram yesterday, at the one point on the line you can have this happen safely.
Actually I just realised there are two places, it wasn’t at the harbour bridge look alike
hopefully the LR will open up on time unlike the metro but knowing me this comment will probably jinx it xD
Lol 🤣
At this stage it looks like the Parramatta Light Rail will open before the Metro
Anyone else thinks this will open before Sydney metro city
it IS gonna open up before sydney metro city
we don’t think that
Yeah the Metro has so many issues.
I think the L4 will open first
Of course the Sydney metro has so many issues like the fire hydrant put in the wrong way and a firefighter getting a electrical shock
The only thing that would delay the opening for the Parramatta light rail would be the ongoing pay dispute between the firefighters and the government. Let's just hope that it gets sorted out very quickly
hey mate are you still in NYC? and can you stop posting those vids cuz thats not y we are subed for Btw
I returned on 12th June.
I have 7 videos left and will upload them mixed in with other videos.
