Best way to Lithgow, IMO. The electric service takes a fair while, though can be cheaper without the Discovery Pass. That coach replacement for the Melbourne XPT sounds quite undesirable. Edit: Fun Fact. Capertee Canyon, aka Capertee Valley, which we see in part at 25:19, is 1km wider than the Grand Canyon in the US, making it the world's widest canyon :)
Thks for filming this video, just a question - are the coaches for Casino-Surfers the same coaches as this one? It looks comfy enough I may change my mind about catching a day train to GS one day.
They really need to update the XPT which is a really old train these days. One of the engines a few years back could not be turned off as they could not re start it. Maybe one day Australia might start to think for the future instead of being lazy and waiting too long as their inept attitudes costs the country a lot more due to their time lapse in replacing transport and much more

I wish the State Govt opens up the Mudgee line service for passengers again. Can't understand why they closed the line in the first place.
