    I had been told my entire life I’d die from this. When it happened, I was so eerily calm. I KNEW without a doubt what it was. Pain worse than I knew existed!
    But I calmly yelled down to my partner, “honey, call 911. I’m dissecting.”
    Then, I called each son and told them how much I loved them. I knew I was dying… quickly!
    But, I didn’t!
    After 12 hours of surgery, 6 on the heart and lung, I couldn’t walk, but I lived!
    They figured out later that due to a false lumen, my blood was not getting to my legs. I was flown to Stanford where they placed stents to get blood to my legs. I walked the next morning!!
    I’m so grateful to the marfan folks! To Sonny Pellone and Dr. Liang and Dr. Howard Song.
    So far they added 20 years to my life and counting!
    Yay!

      My Cousin had surgery in July 2018 due to this condition, and again in January 2023. He passed away 7 weeks ago. I'm glad to hear you're still with us. May you live many years to come.

    My best friend died from this a month ago at 35 years old after having an emergency open heart surgery. I still can’t make sense of how fast he went. I miss him dearly.
    There needs to be more awareness of this condition bc it’s such a silent killer if not caught on time. May all who have suffered from this and survived, continue to live healthy and happy life. Rest in peace to those we lost due to this horrible condition 🙏🏾

      Sorry for your loss. My Cousin had surgery for this condition in July 2018 aged 35 and again in January 2023 aged 40. He passed away 7 weeks ago aged 41 due to complications. So tragic. He was an Angel on Earth. I miss him so much.

    I felt. Didn’t know what it was, but knew it was serious.

    The pain was pure horror. Never ever had so much pain. Here Aorta dissection type a and b, with stemi and fail of the mitral valve during 59 days. Very possible, that I have the Marfan syndrome but the MDs at the university hospital of Bern (Inselspital) aren't sure at the moment.

      At what age you got aortic dissection while having marfan ?

    • @bambam144
      @bambam144 4 месяца назад

      @@Z01zzz45 46 and the diagnose has changed from marfan to ehlers danlos syndrom vascular. ps the stemi was a result of a second spontan dissection.

      @@engineeredtruths8935 sry for the late answer. jip they have tested with a genom analysis too. result is from their side unclear 'cause it would be the first case with this special mutation. but they have changed from marfan to ehlers danlos syndrom vascular and they have changed the betablocker.
