That’s a nice combo, it looks like it runs good. Is that a Chrysler outboard sold by Sears? I have an old 1648 with a 25 Evinrude that will run 32 MPH (empty). It’s hard to beat an aluminum jon boat with proper size outboard.

harder to find them used because people are holding on to them but you can still find them. And they are easy to find if you want new. I just bought a new Suzuki 9.9 for my 1436

    I got a quest angler 10. 138 pound boat with a 3.6hp and it goes 5mph. I want a 9.9hp but it weighs 60+ pounds. Think it's too much?

If your boat is that lightweight, it will depend on where you place your gas tank and where you sit. You may not be able to get up to speed to plane.

I had a 55 pound 4hp 2 stroke merc on my 10 footer flat jon and it did 7mph with the current. Not too heavy.
