- One of the best Elton John songs ever. I did a little guitar arrangement, and also this is live.

Brilliant. Love the arrangement. More country vibes :)
Thank you
This was my very first Elton John album in 1975 and I fell in love with Elton and Bernie. I know every word to every song. Alberto! You are doing an excellent rendition and bless you brother!--Von Stafford
Thanks man, I'm happy people share my passion with early Elton, awesome stuff!
Mostruoso! Cantare e suonare questa canzone di Elton alla chitarra acustica richiede un talento da geni della musica come lo sei!❤
Bellissimo brano!
Best cover. Good job my friend!!!!

Excellent piece of work ! Such a unique cover.
One of my very favorite Elton John's song.
Yea it’s really a trip, this song. Thank you!
@Alberto Lombardi You're welcome. Yes, "Tumbleweed connection" makes us travel through southern and western american states and their history too.

Beautiful cover!
thanks buddy
the whole thing is truly awe inspiring. guitar work is in orbit! this is the first album i bought when i first got my brand new "boom box" it was a cassette back then im gonna guess 1970? "tumbleweed connection" im my top few albums of all time! i remember a camping trip with the cassette along and it takes me back there rolling a few boulders down a hill at a few pine trees, what the hell we were kids no trees were actually harmed. friggen fun and we ran out of food the first morning. lol.
Thanks for sharing that lovely story. I discovered early Elton records at later age, and just fell in love with it. Cheers!
Alberto is a Unique talent, which is a really good thing. Many artist get caught up in being compared to an already successful genre or artist.
It is the originals who expand horizons, not the well traveled roads that are familiar pathways
Thank you Mark, I am also really interested in the tradition and allergic to the "being different" as a tool to gain attention. For me, it has to be a blend of tradition and innovation, but it's obviously personal.
Alberto Lombardi, yes I can see and feel that in your playing and voice. Being different or unique just for a gimmick or public curiosity sake. You are unique because of how you approach your playing and I was impressed by your vocal variance. Dynamics are a big key to keeping the public’s interest. I had to go on EBay to buy your CD somewhere in the Tuscany area. It was worth the wait. Bravo 👏 Ciao
Hai un talento pazzesco, suoni da Dio!
dario pandolfo grazie Dario 💛
What an amazing musician !
Michael Cummings thank you so much!
Holy shhhhhh- what a cover. Incredible
thanks James

Elton needs to hear this. Your cover is fantastic. This is a difficult song to sing and you nail it perfectly!
Thank you sir, I wish I could play it to him
wow dude, this is the only cover I've found of this song and its the only one I'd ever want. Serious under-rated track from a seriously under-rated album and you totally nailed it. Great job!
It's an amazing album mate, and thank you very much for your words.
savage ! great lead in, man... awesome riffs... blowin my mind
thanks Drew!
This is brilliant. Congrats!

Thanks Diego, please subscribe to my channel for more !
Your style of guitar picking reminds me of Steve Goodman :) This is really a piece of fantastic work!
Didn't know him, thanks for the heads up!
Man! I image this cover being in some modern western movie...just before story climax, along with some slow motion shots of cowboys...that would be a great scene!
Brodo Swagins now that would be nice ! 🎸🎸🎸
Pure gold
thank you !
awesome cover. great job, awesome song.
thank you!
Perfect cover and arrengments!
Thanks Man!
Huge man, Congrats!
Cheers Man, thanks!
Grazie
Che voce hai! Magnifica atmosfera💔
Ciao Giulia!

Perfect in every way... I'm.. speachless. I'm without speach. =) Congratulations!
Thank you!
Hi Alberto.
I'm back watching this amazing arrangement after 2 years. This was where I 1st discovered you. I've since seen lots of yours posts, and am happy to see that you have international recognition. You've shared the stage with some of the best, (including Tommy Emmanuel!).
You deserve all great things for the reasons I outlined in the last post. You also have an amazing arranger's ear/instinct...that is one of the things that sets you apart from a sea of others on the net. Thanks again for all of the great music!
Cheers from Canada!
Thanks for the kind thought and words, sincerely! A big ciao from Italy 💛🎸
Hi Alberto, like your youtube videos, always looking forward to hearing you on Monday.
Thanks man, appreciate that
Man , well done.
Thanks Justin!
This is really fantastic! I sat down and tried to transcribe some of your sweet fills.
Keep up the good work! And the Elton covers. Great job, Alberto.
Thank you, if you have questions, I'll try to answer them.
Excelente Alberto!!! Desde México te felicito, y ojala y puedas interpretar algúna canción de mi país.
izzybones thank you, why not.
Yep, this was great. Tumbleweed Connection is a great album and you picked possibly the best song from it to play. I loved this - both your singing and guitar playing. At first I thought your voice wouldn't fit to be honest, but you nailed those high notes. Like someone said in the comments, Elton would be proud. Keep up your good work!
Elias Sandgren thanks man, appreciate it
Arregaçou filhão, tirou onda demais nessa daí.
sorry I don't understand
amazing guitar work. and everything else!!
Zach Archer thank you man!

+Frederick Couch thanks !

Thanks Andrew!
Smashing work lad
thank you Andy
Greatest song of all time and greatest cover of it I've ever heard. Something about this on guitar is magical. You should check out Ballad of a Well Known Gun and Into the Old Man's Shoes from the same album.
I will my friend, sorry for the late reply
fantastic. do you sell the tabs of this song somewhere?
TheTrolli71 ho thanks! No, never noted it sorry 😐
:-( , thanks, if you do once, you already have at least one buyer :-)
wll you transcribe it ?
I am not that good in transcribing.......
man, thats fucking fantastic
Thanks dude!
yes
yeah
Holy fuck!! I don't know what it is, but you've got it.
thanks Andrew!
sorry..can't stop listening. Now I have to spend weeks lifting that killer guitar arrangement and learning it. Bugger!
Ahah that's too bad is one of the few things I didn't transcribe!
Check out this other Elton cover ruclips.net/video/y22S59kGiuo/видео.html
Thanks.
I actually find it easier to lift stuff by listening than reading...but transcriptions can definitely be helpful in some spots. You just have a great style/feel that may take me a while to feel comfortable enough with to play live....on top of a very clever and groovy arrangement. BTW great vox too...that's my wife's dept.
You are a VERY musical dude! In a sea of guitar channels, I subscribed to yours, because you have a great ear and musicality(and tone). I had a 10-piece festival horn band, and a smaller bar band, but haven't done a show in a couple of years. Starting to hurt! Thanks again Alberto!
Esta de puta madre!! Felicidades buen cover 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
eme30 gracias
11 out of 10 sir
Thanks Ted!
Nice job on the intro! (Most people skip it - or just play the chords, not the figures.)
Mike Evans thanks Mike
TOP KEK
thanks!
Holy cow, what a cover. This song was always an outsider's view of American history, it's only fitting for you to carry on that theme.
Vagrant Comics to be honest I don’t fully understand the nuances of the lyrics, I really love the song writing and the vibe. Can you elaborate? I’m sincerely curious.
@@albertolombardimusic sure thing. The song is about a father and son both fighting for the Confederate army during the Civil War. The father dies, leaving his son to take up his father's gun after burying him in their homelands. The son then hops a riverboat to sail for New Orleans where some of the final battles were fought.
Thank you, I was aware of this main outline of the story. And of course Taupin lyrics are an “outsider view”. This especially interests me, did he get a wrong perspective? It seems to me like a simple story of believing in one’s own cause, without a real judgements on the events. Or is there one in your opinion?
@@albertolombardimusic I don't think Taupin got it wrong necessarily. My outsider comment was more to do with non Americans writing about a uniquely American war. I think the choice to have the character be a Confederate soldier is a telling one. Most would view them as the bad guys. To me it says no matter the conflict, both sides believe themselves to be right. That bravery, determination, and loyalty trancend ideologies. Powerful stuff.
That’s exactly the sense I get from this song, thanks for sharing your insight.
De fuder, mermão! Parabéns
Thank you!
Chi cazzo é quel pazzo che ha messo il dislike?
riccardo albanese ahahah mi sa io.. per sbaglio :)
Hai un nuovo fan. sallo.
You are very talented, and your rendition is interesting, but I think it fails the artistic cadence of the original, which is the single most important aspect of the music of this song.
!
The guitar playing in this is ridiculous! Elton John always longed to be a guitar player. If he ever saw this he would probably crap himself! Lol 💩
EJR thanks buddy, would be a dream to play it for him.
