No, she was killed by her parents and the body was hidden in the attic. When her mom went up there she said “It wasn’t olivia” to her other kids which was odd because none of them even brung her up. The reason they can’t leave is because they are trapped by the guilt. They are also in denial about the knife fight claiming she just left when in reality they killed her , narrator says “Olivia woke up in a place where she can breath again” thats what I assume is the afterlife

This is my interpretation of this SCP ( after digging about a little bit on the internet and having listened / read some Reddit stories ... also *Trigger Warning* because my interpretation delves into a certain topic : Domestic Abuse ). Just wanted to get this one off my chest because the mystery behind this SCP got me going down a little rabbit hole. The latest episode SCP 2740 or 'It Wasn't There' is an interesting one because unlike SCP 055 ( The Anti-Meme ) the cognito hazardous effect isn't generated by the SCP... it's generated by the people in the story... or rather, the excuses of the parents in the story. Once a particular piece falls into place when I read one of the 'SCP Declassified' Reddit threads, I can actually sum this SCP up rather succinctly by saying 'Narcissist Parents.' ( While doing my short digging on the r/SCPDeclassified Reddit, however, the person who posted that thread said they also talked about 'dream logic' and their own experiences with false memories about people that can be generated by those dreams. I thought I'd mention that as it's another way to interpret this SCP as opposed to mine with narcissistic parents, and since it's their story / SCP I thought I'd at least put that out there as it's their idea, not mine. ). They don't acknowledge the things they've done wrong because they don't really think they've done something wrong and whenever they try to 'fix' the situation they really don't actually fix anything because of their inability to acknowledge that they in fact actually did something wrong. So basically, everything they've ever done wrong 'manifests' as something in the attic that they simply can't acknowledge... because they simply won't. From the father's interview we can come to the conclusion that he's stubborn and tried to take control over the situation. Many times in fact. But every time he's tried he's stymied by 'something.' This could be his own stubborn refusal to believe he's done anything wrong in the life of his estranged daughter. The many ways he tries ( and fails ) to move his family away from the house could be interpreted as anything from 'cancel culture' ( society finding out what they did by various means and shutting the parents out after they did find out what they did ) to his own stubborn denial that there's a problem in the first place ( as evidenced by how well he can apparently sleep at night, even though there's clearly a problem going on. Just a subtle little detail I thought I'd bring up. ) From the mother's perspective, as evidenced by her going up to peek inside the attic, she has a certain view of what she thought her daughter was. Seeing as the daughter fled the house after something clearly going wrong, we can interpret this as the mother's reaction to the idea that her daughter wanting to cut off all ties as unacceptable. She has a firm idea of who her daughter is, and because it doesn't mesh with what the daughter actually wants is something the mother simply won't accept. '…I don't know. It wasn't Olivia.' That's a powerful sort of denial going on, as the mother climbing the ladder could be interpreted as actually tracking her daughter down and being confronted with the person her daughter wanted to be, as opposed to what the mother thought reality was. As for the daughter? Because she's trapped in the 'she said, they said' scenario so many children and adults get trapped in by narcissist parents, she simply 'ceases to exist' because that's not the daughter that the parents acknowledge as being their daughter. How many stories on Reddit or RUclips Reddit readers have you heard about narcissist parents saying or doing these completely unhinged things because they think that's how the world works, but when the victims call them out they double, triple, quadruple down in denial or obfuscation of the truth of the matter? Their reality is the only reality that everyone else lives in, who is anyone else to say otherwise? TL;DR : The parents are reality benders based on their own cognitohazardous effects... on themselves... which bends reality around them. Their daughter didn't fit into what they wanted and even though she escaped them, when the SCP foundation found her and was confronted with the actual reality of the situation, the parent's own narcissism literally erases this 'other person' that their daughter was from existence because 'that's not our daughter.' I love SCP's like this because it makes you think about it, it's weird and strange and creepy and once you figure it out even then it makes for a great story.
I don't think the attic erased Olivia, because contrary to all other occurences, there was no time skip when she disappeared. And why her parents never tried to look after her, know what she had become, even remotely, after so many years ? And why her mother felt like she had to know about her daughter just at a single particular moment ? She never existed from the start, she IS the attic, its personification
Expanding on this a bit. Olivia said that there's only so much hate that can build up in a place before it starts hating you back. Olivia hated her parents and vice versa. Their hate manifested into the anomaly in the attic. It's similar to SCP-055, the anti meme, and SCP-096, the shy guy. Once perceived in any way, the person viewing it forgets what it it, but not what it isn't. The mother said that it wasn't Olivia. It also kills/erases from existence anyone who would jeopardize its main goal, punishing Olivia family. Maybe Olivia was punished enough and was let go, but the attic saw her as a threat and erased her, not caring who she was once she was out of the house and under a new alias.
I love this SCP, it's a creepy story about family violence and really shows what it's like for a kid to not have a safe home. The are a billion theories about what's in the attic (eg. Olivia's dead body, the manifestation of their hate, a pattern screamer), but I figure the question is spookier when it's left unanswered. Also, a note about what inspired this SCP from the author, djkaktus: "I had a brother who died when I was little. He was a newborn, but he didn't make it. Really shook the family up. I didn't handle it well at the time and even though I never met him, I kept seeing him everywhere. Anyway, in the dream, he's in the attic. And I don't realize it until the very end, but then I find that he never existed. So, yeah. That's basically what's going on here."
I just love this scp, for me it's a masterpiece of mystery writing, I always go back to read it. And for me, the best theory is that what's in the attic is Olivia's dead body. It just makes so much sense and fits so perfectly into the events of the story that it's more than a theory for me but the answer to this scp
Poor DJ, that’s so painful, tho this beautiful SCIP would never exist otherwise… or did it ever exist? Lol, jokes aside it’s probable my favourite & I’d love to option it someday. Kaktus, hit me up if it ever appeals 💜🖤🧡
I like how the eyes of the mother were animated to shake a little when she was in distressing situations (getting warped back to the table after signing the house away, climbing the ladder). It's a very small detail but shows the dedication behind this.
You and the animation team have outdone yourselves. The quality of the animation, the sound design, it elevates the ambiance to the next level. Absolutely fantastic !
I always appreciate you branching into more conceptually complex SCPs, I think this video captures what the author intended perfectly and you were spot on with the interpretation-for reference in the declass, the original author lost their baby brother at childbirth and their experience is what this article was based on
This is why Dr. Bob is great, not only he takes chances with less known SCPs, he actually makes videos about the ones that aren't just "the monster of the week" type, no offense if you like those, but lately, every scp animation channel seems to ONLY make those. I know it's not possible because it's actually popular, but I'd love if he would animate the scp- 2361 (Field Trip) or the scp-3935 (This thing a quiet madness made), I know the last one was already animated by another channel, but I'd love to see Dr. Bob's version.
I love the storytelling on this channel. There's quite a few SCP animation type RUclipss out there, but I feel like Dr. Bob does best to build suspense and pull you into the story.
Bro,my heart is shaking so fast, I'm going into cardiac arrest. And all the while I watch this video, runs chills and anxiety down my hunchback spine. And what's even scarier:is that we never got a concluding answer to the horrifying question: WHAT THE HELL IS IN THE ATTIC?!
I thought it was some sort of creature at first, but the ending implies it’s some sort of manifestation of the hate felt by the family (like the Grocery Store SCP in another video), but it seems we may never truly know, and that’s what makes it so terrifying Oh it gives me chills…
It reminds of another SCP. A man who can alter reality based on what he believed to exist. Until someone told him he’s immortal and turned to dust. This one I feel bad for Olivia. The SCP doesn’t want people to know it exists or anyone who may exploit it to exist.
@@tezla1530 the SCP i’m talking about is one of the new series on the wiki. Whatever he believed exists it would exist. But the containment procedure, or one of the procedures, was to not tell him of his longevity.
Scp 2740 is one of the most terrifying and disturbing anomalies as its literally something you cannot know what it is or even if ever was something to begin with also tied to something ordinary such as an attic.
The thumbnail for this vid has changed 4 times now lol. Was 2 creatures in the attic, then it turned to the big mouth monster eating a drone, then back to the 2 creatures, and now big to the big mouth thing lol. Reminds me of all the SCP Explained thumbs that have the characters being choked out and reaching towards the viewer.
While I usually like it when Dr. Bob explains the SCP, I feel like it's appropriate that he doesn't this time. This was excellent, disquieting and subtle and eerie in the best ways.
I really liked this one, so what does it mean? Does it mean that whatever's in the attic of the lee's home can manipulate things not just in the house but outside as well? For Olivia to come to the foundation and cannot be located again is just so strange.
I’ve heard quite a few interpretations of this SCP, like that the family actually killed the daughter and hid the body in the attic, and are just in denial about it for example I personally believe that Olivia was the house itself. “There’s only so much hate that can build up in a place before it starts hating you back” feels specific, especially since it was her parents that hated her and she hated them as a result, similar to how the family as a whole hates the house, and specifically the attic I think Olivia may be some strange manifestation of the house itself. Perhaps that’s why her parents hated her and seemed to care little about her despite being family and clearly caring deeply about the rest of the family, they knew deep down that she was wrong
dr bob, thank you for making normal thumbnails again, this is a huge upgrade from your last one, and i'm so glad the thumbnails can match the dark grim style of your content that all your subscribers love
Somehow some agents reminds of chainsaw man characters! 14:11 - Himeno on the right 15:06 - Denji Cool little detail and looks like Dr.Bob is into anime!
I read through the comments and didn't see a comment for this, but the picture in the video and narration shows a family of 6, 5 after Olivia left. But we only see two kids and the two parents, no number 6 child. I think child #6 had "issues", was placed in the attic and then developed the abilities to do what we see in the video.
I love how Himeno from Chainsaw Man is one of the first SCP agents on scene at the house. Glad to see she's doing well in her new job 😊 And is that Denji I see as an agent inside? Now if we could just see where Meowey is we'll be in business!
i love stories like these, makes me question what’s going to happen next and trying to put the pieces together like a puzzle, it’s so interesting and captivating!
I have never been more invested in one of your stories, I got so into the family's tale I just wanted to know everything about them, about their history in the beginning when Olivia ran away. It was chilling, I loved the bit about the mom conversing in the attic and then when asked what was up there just saying "I don't know, it wasn't Olivia" that was such a great line! I was thinking at the beginning of the video: "Wow, he's such a great writer." and that just increased tenfold over the course of it. I think this is now my favourite Dr. Bob video ever! The ending was heart breaking too, she got away but it still managed to claim her in the end. (I love that we don't know what it was too, that makes it so much more mysterious and menacing).
Hey Dr Bob, I'm so glad you did this SCP! I didn't think anyone was going to really cover it. Which is such a shame because unlike a lot of other SCPs, there's just such a mystery hanging over this one. A true fear of the unknown, where alot of others get covered so much the unknown element gets removed. An amazing job as always and I can't wait to see more like these!
Bob, the detail on the animations is really bad-ass. Thanks for still doing SCP and not shifting into trendy cartoon BS for 9-year-olds like some of the other channels..

That's a heartbreaking ending. She was finally doing okay she'd made her own life for herself but because she told them, it erased her. But it didn't erase the hatred that spawned it, so it didn't erase it's own existence. Now it's just knot of malevolence without beginning or end. Honestly the thought makes me feel cold to my bones.
She might not be erased. She might just be erased to those who perceive the realities created each time people go up. I doubt those businesses just vanished each time the dad signed the contracts. The other kids saw their mother enter the attic and were still exposed to the cognitohazard so, they are bound to the attic's realities too. They all might just not be able to perceive those they consulted anymore to try to get help. So, to Olivia they just never contacted her again. Assuming erasure exists to those observing those connected to the attic from the outside too. Olivia was the only one to not call for help to escape the influence of the attic. She just ran and didn't care to know about it which might have saved her life and from being trapped.
when Tompson narrates these animations and stories it fits so well! his tone and the narration the emotions and everything is just amazing! i love your animations and narrations keep going your amazing man!😭😭😭😭
Now these are like the first set of videos that made me love and stuck with this channel specifically, it's just how they were scary, ominous and without context that made me so curious that I couldn't resist clicking even though I was never a fan of these types of videos, you're the only SCP channel I watch and that's because of how you make you video, they always give me this sense of dread, I video that got me hooked was Malo, it scared me especially since I watched it at night alone in my room, ever since then I've been subbed and been waiting week after week for your next video, a few months ago I lost interest but now I'm interested again because they're scary like before

"I had a brother who died when I was little.
Whatttttttttttt
Oh, that's just sad as Hell.
I Love How Himeno Is Always Smiling Even On A Special Mission
(The Easter Eggs Were Cool Timecodes: 14:11 15:05)
You and the animation team have outdone yourselves. The quality of the animation, the sound design, it elevates the ambiance to the next level. Absolutely fantastic !
Saturday just keeps getting better, THANK YOU DR BOB!!!
Thank you for watching!!
I love how two chainsaw man characters work for the scp foundation in this video
Better call Saul reference aswell
Himeno and Dennis
You never know, maybe in some alternative reality, the Foundation is real and it overlapped with CSM, i can only hope Denji got eaten by something.
@@Hero_of_he111 you mean Denji?
You and Professor Lucius are the 2 best SCP animation channels.
I already miss Professor Lucius 😭
Great job doc! Great to see you have come so far.
Wow, this scp is actually pretty interesting… and creepy! Nice job at explaining it!
And what's even scarier:is that we never got a concluding answer to the horrifying question:
WHAT THE HELL IS IN THE ATTIC?!
I thought it was some sort of creature at first, but the ending implies it’s some sort of manifestation of the hate felt by the family (like the Grocery Store SCP in another video), but it seems we may never truly know, and that’s what makes it so terrifying
Oh it gives me chills…
It's your mom
@@garg4531 It's Your mama
You definitely have a talent for telling stories, you should make Spotify storys, I would always listen to that
It reminds of another SCP. A man who can alter reality based on what he believed to exist. Until someone told him he’s immortal and turned to dust. This one I feel bad for Olivia. The SCP doesn’t want people to know it exists or anyone who may exploit it to exist.
"What?"
@@tezla1530 the SCP i’m talking about is one of the new series on the wiki. Whatever he believed exists it would exist. But the containment procedure, or one of the procedures, was to not tell him of his longevity.
@@mattylewin1684 ik, the name of the SCP is "What?"
@@tezla1530 Do you know whats the name of the SCP though so I can I read it?
@@Ocoro_ i just told you, the name is "What?" it is located between 5000 and 5999 i believe
This is gonna make me a nightmare
How kind of it!
It a Jiunmscacy
Scp 2740 is one of the most terrifying and disturbing anomalies as its literally something you cannot know what it is or even if ever was something to begin with also tied to something ordinary such as an attic.
The thumbnail for this vid has changed 4 times now lol. Was 2 creatures in the attic, then it turned to the big mouth monster eating a drone, then back to the 2 creatures, and now big to the big mouth thing lol. Reminds me of all the SCP Explained thumbs that have the characters being choked out and reaching towards the viewer.
Great, now I have chills about going up to the attic but this video was worth it, Keep up the good work Dr Bob :)
I’ve heard quite a few interpretations of this SCP, like that the family actually killed the daughter and hid the body in the attic, and are just in denial about it for example
I personally believe that Olivia was the house itself. “There’s only so much hate that can build up in a place before it starts hating you back” feels specific, especially since it was her parents that hated her and she hated them as a result, similar to how the family as a whole hates the house, and specifically the attic
I think Olivia may be some strange manifestation of the house itself. Perhaps that’s why her parents hated her and seemed to care little about her despite being family and clearly caring deeply about the rest of the family, they knew deep down that she was wrong
This is just about on level with the perplexity of SCP-055.
Oh that thing, yeah it isn't round or flat. Definitely didn't smell of elderberries and wasn't a hamster.
dr bob, thank you for making normal thumbnails again, this is a huge upgrade from your last one, and i'm so glad the thumbnails can match the dark grim style of your content that all your subscribers love
This was good one.....want more like this where there are more mysteries
Is it..... Is it just me or is the animation getting better?
No it's just u.
@@Kingcelebrator nah animation is getting better and better each vid Dr bob posts
Thank you for not giving up on SCP videos
i love th easter egg of "Chainsaw Man" idk if anyone else saw it but awesome Dr.Bob love your stuff!
For once I feel as though not having a direct explanation makes sense, considering the cognito hazard of the SCP.
I absolutely loved this video! Excellent narration!!!
Somehow some agents reminds of chainsaw man characters!
14:11 - Himeno on the right
15:06 - Denji
Cool little detail and looks like Dr.Bob is into anime!
The retailer also looks like Saul Goodman
Now that is a real good SCP! Kudos to the author and ofc, good ol' Dr. Bob for the video.
Is it just me or the animation and story telling went up another level?
Amazing how well Dr. Bob tells this, giving tension feeling even though I already read this SCP and know the twist
This one was horribly gripping -- I think it's your best work yet!
I am a fan of the number of CSM references in this video
The wait felt endless but the results never disappoint. Looking forward to the next one.
I love the night. I've never felt dread or imagined monsters. Night time was always a more peaceful time for me. Definitely a night owl in nature.
I thought this was going to be a casual watch, but this was straight up the creepiest scp video to date
This is the first one I’ve watched where they didn’t figure out what the SCP was or described what it is and that is terrifying
This really is one of the Bob moments of all time
I read through the comments and didn't see a comment for this, but the picture in the video and narration shows a family of 6, 5 after Olivia left. But we only see two kids and the two parents, no number 6 child. I think child #6 had "issues", was placed in the attic and then developed the abilities to do what we see in the video.
Magnificent!!! Dr Bob your my favorite scp storyteller !!! Love it !!!
This is the one RUclipsr I stop multitasking and watch attentively
I love how Himeno from Chainsaw Man is one of the first SCP agents on scene at the house. Glad to see she's doing well in her new job 😊 And is that Denji I see as an agent inside? Now if we could just see where Meowey is we'll be in business!
What was saul doing at the door?
Meowey is in the attic
@@BierBart12 Or it's the Bat Demon holding Meowey hostage 😱
i love stories like these, makes me question what’s going to happen next and trying to put the pieces together like a puzzle, it’s so interesting and captivating!
One of the best SCP videos out there!
They're so interesting, every video is very good' to watch
I love how Dr. Bob evades the anomalies, or even counters them... So why was this the SCP that he couldn't interact with? Kinda scary!
Best Channel for scp videos, no other animators are as good as Dr.Bob. That's why I love these videos.
This one hit harder than most. It’s like a much worse and scarier version of the Mandela effect.
6:50 That's a very good drawing of SpongeBob SquarePants.
At this point Dr. Bob can make anything sound creepy. Hats of to you doc
I love that the animations just keep getting better and better
Hey Dr Bob,
I'm so glad you did this SCP!
Olivia is the Barbara krueger of this place...
I love those kind of SCP that all you can tell about them is "they are cognito-hazard"
Dr. Bob is back!
Wow... good thing I returned to this channel
Bob, the detail on the animations is really bad-ass. Thanks for still doing SCP and not shifting into trendy cartoon BS for 9-year-olds like some of the other channels..
Pretty sure I know which channel you’re talking about. I could definitely do without the SCP 682 vs sonic the hedgehog videos. Coming soon to that channel “SCP 049 does a TikTok dance to save the foundation from Jake Paul!”
@@meganbayly2838 Wtf- What's that channel called?
@@charadreemurr20XXI dunno. Maybe he can *explain* what that SCP channel is.
Imagine communicating with your spouse about the problem and go together :0
House of Leaves vibes... this is my favorite video you've made so far. Phenomenal.
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH!
Bro this actually made me scared and i had to turn the light on💀
*096:* I'm the universe's biggest introvert.
*2740:* Allow me to introduce myself.
Yep also I guess I'm also related to scp 096 and scp 2740 more than I thought
Ooo, your script-writing is improving! The way you presented the introducing story really felt impactful.
"You do not have the required level to enter."
Love it when the video starts with an Ad then 1 minute into the video another Ad plays😐
I love the SCP Foundation! Keep up the great work!
when Tompson narrates these animations and stories it fits so well! his tone and the narration the emotions and everything is just amazing! i love your animations and narrations keep going your amazing man!😭😭😭😭
Amazing new video finally ❤
Now these are like the first set of videos that made me love and stuck with this channel specifically, it's just how they were scary, ominous and without context that made me so curious that I couldn't resist clicking even though I was never a fan of these types of videos, you're the only SCP channel I watch and that's because of how you make you video, they always give me this sense of dread, I video that got me hooked was Malo, it scared me especially since I watched it at night alone in my room, ever since then I've been subbed and been waiting week after week for your next video, a few months ago I lost interest but now I'm interested again because they're scary like before
14:16 is it just me or is that himeno from chainsaw man..?
EDITTTTTTTTTT: 15:06 yes thats def a chainsawman reference 🤣
No replies?
Me: these animations are getting better dude!
Also me: these animations are getting 'better'. 'better' as in scarier and creepier
There is need to be a SCP Movie.
14:16 15:10 I didn’t expect to see Himeno and Denji from CSM in one SCP video, the easter eggs are like a cherry on the top of the cake.
Nice work 😊
Bro, these videos are so good that you could basically binge-watch all of these videos.
Oh come on. The first thumbnail was fine! Thats ashame that the algorithm really just wants stretched out faces eating stuff.
Edit: okay i see it back to normal
Edit2: Great. It's back...ugh...
Exactly, it really annoying
That is one cognitohazard entity right there. I dont blame olivia cause that was probably the only way to escape.
Love your vide man
This SCP makes my curiosity to grow. Even I wants to know what's in that attic
is it just me or is himeno from chainsaw man at 14:10
edit: denji is here too 15:04
Definitely both of them
DUDE you got some good ass story telling. Like I don't even watch animation channels but this one just has something different to it
