You are a wonderful story teller. I love your page, and am truly blown away by your basket weaving. They are gorgeous. I look forward to your next projects. 💗
Yes Marion this certainly did bring back the memories growing up in the 1950's and 60's when we had deep snow drifts so often... who could get to the milk first, us or the birds but they always looked so cute perched on top pecking away at the silver foil. Thanks for the memories and your fabulous works of art
Hi Marion - your stitching is gorgeous, love the quilt, and your baskets are beautiful, too. You are SO CREATIVE! Love watching you create these birds. Mesmerizing!
You are so talented and this is a real work of art. It is so great to watch this entire process and I love the bottle of milk that you created to enhance what this bird is enjoying.
I love that you expand your crafting mind! We used to have a basket weaver who taught in my small country town 70 miles west of Chicago. I was lucky enough to take a class and made Easter baskets for my children long ago. It was so much fun and easier than I expected. Your little blue tit is absolutely beautiful!
This brought back memories of trying to get to the milk bottles before the birds did 😂 Love your depiction of the cheeky little bluetit. And now you have another skill! The baskets are great, and I'm sure you'll make some lovely Christmas presents. Good for you exploring new crafts, doing what you enjoy, and opening new avenues of enjoyment.
I’m always awestruck by the many different things you do. I do enjoy them. Your channel is great ti watch. I’m a 73 year old lady from Idaho in America, and have always loved to craft. But now I mostly just make baby quilts for my great grand babies and still love to embroider and cross stitch. I use to crochet, but my fingers aren’t straight anymore and crochet is hard to get my fingers to do what I want them to. So when I watch you, I’m embroidering and cross stitching and just entertaining myself by watching your videos. You bring alot of joy to people.
Ps. Your Bluetooth bird on the milk bottle is wonderful. My dad was a milkman and milked his own cows and delivered milk on doorsteps like the one in your picture. Brought back quite a few memories.🐦🐦
I'm so happy that you're enjoying watching what I'm up to. I've always just done whichever craft I fancied at the time... Only now I'm filming it all...and people can see it. It's taken a while to get used to it really...😊💐
👏❤😊🐈❤ Thank you again! 🤗 When I was a child I loved to sit beside my grandfather in the nature, and watching him making baskets. It smelled so good from the willow, birch and juniper. Blessings to you.🌻
Hi Marion, thank you so much for sharing the story of the blue tit and the milk bottles. All of your work is a lovely expression of nature. Your keen eye for beauty just brings out the best in all of your crafts. ❤ You are a really good teacher. I've learned quite a few tips. I am really looking forward to the quilt videos. And the baskets are amazing!
Blue, is such a lovely cat who obviously loves you and adores yours story time, but does not want you to forget to talk to him. So wonderful to hear and see him in your videos.
Marion you are so talented!!!! Not only do you do fantastic embroideries but you can make baskets too!!! I love baskets and I have them to keep knitting projects in as well as to hold my spinning fibres. I did attend a course once to learn basketry but by the end of the day - and it was a LONG day! - my hands were so stiff and sore I never tried it again. Happy crafting and best wishes as always. Wish you lived a bit closer!
I don't know why I should make baskets because I do have a lovely collection of vintage ones in all shapes and sizes! But I do love learning a new craft! How far away are you Rachel?
I absolutely love watching your videos!! Thank you so much for sharing your love of stitching!! And the many other things you enjoy doing! I’m wanting to learn how to make spoons! I’m in the USA! The state of Georgia! Thank you for a nice place to visit and stitch!❤
I can just imagine this little one stealing some milk! So wonderful to look at you creating him. I loved the new basket crafting. I also absolutely loved the spoons you made and thanks so much for the videos of your travels to Scotland, it was on my bucket list for sure. Keep up the fun and enjoy the new crafts. Thank you for sharing.
I continue to admire the way you can create such realistic looking embroideries. Your milk bottle and bluetit are just adorable and perfect in every way. Now you whip up two baskets in your first basketry lesson. You are a wonder Marion. xx
Hi Marion the bird and the milk bottle took me back when I was little, we got milk delivered to the house with a lid just like that. Beautifully done. I am going to stitch some birds it’s on my list. I have a pencil tree that I keep up all year, and I put all different things on it , birds ore going on next. Thank you for showing us your projects they are beautiful. Take care , your friend Linda W. 😊❤.
Thanks Linda. I still get my milk delivered and they still have foil tops, but unfortunately the little bluetits have forgotten about the milk. They learned from parent birds but it all stopped as milk deliveries declined. I can remember them still doing it in the mid 80's...
A lovely little bluetit… one of my favourite garden birds. The basket work was so good, how lucky your family and friends will be to receive these as Christmas gifts ❤
Good Monday morning, Marion, from Malaysia. Monday and Thursday mornings are filled with joy because I'm looking forward to watching your new videos😊. Your beautiful bluetit reminds me of my very small sister who opened the lids of the neighbour's milk standing in front of their house. She took some sips and folded the lid back closed 🫣 Basket making is still on my wish list too. Yes, it's wonderful to watch you talented, sympathetic person sharing your knowledge with us.
What a lovely story about your sister. Thank you for sharing that... Does she still like milk? I'm so happy you're enjoying watching my sewing. Thank you 💐
I love your story of the birds. It made it come to life. I'm sorry you lost your husband Marion. I hope having this channel is helping you in your time of grief.
Thank you so much. My love of sewing has definitely helped me. It gave me something for my brain to concentrate on. It's why I seem to get so much accomplished.
This bird is so sweet! We do not have such small birds here in South Georgia. When I lived in Tennessee I learned how to make a traditional egg basket, very useful even though I didn 't have chickens. Once I returned to South Georgia where we grow long leaf pines, I learned to make pine needle baskets with fitted lids! Great fun!
Marion this little blue tit is absolutely adorable and so realistic, your videos always make everything you do look so achievable for me to try, you are so talented. As for your little basket, OMG, I love it, wished I could make that too. Once again, thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent. I LOVE your videos
The work here is so beautiful Marion but even more so is hearing you talk about it. I just love to see and hear your enthusiasm about learning new things too. Your basket weaving efforts are amazing! You are so talented.
Thank you Marion. Love the ease of showing your embroidery. Reminds me of when my brother used to steal the cream off the milk early in the morning before mum got up.
Well Marion that was delightful!! The bird is beautiful too!!. I can also see the baskets for Christmas full of mittens or socks or cookies or fudge or a combination of a lot of things and people will be so happy to receive such a thoughtful gift. Those baskets would be useful in the garden when picking berries or herbs - so glad you found another artistic outlet. Thank you for sharing.
Another beautiful & cheeky little bird 🐦 and the milk bottle looks so real its definitely a page that shows what things was like years ago , before plastic bottles !!!! Your 1st attempt at basket making was truly amazing, I bet the group was surprised ! Is there anything you can't do , No I don't think there is , Thank you for being you , a genuine beautiful caring & sharing person ❤ xx
Well I picked up one of our free papers today and when I opened it what did I see only a picture of a blue tit pecking a milk bottle top in a piece called The history of the milkman , is this telling me something lol xx
Beautiful. Charming. I want to reach out a finger to pet his soft feathers. Thank you for patiently explaining what, how and why you make your stitches. I’m gonna use single strands more often now. Thanks again.❤️
Yet again...another beautiful bird page for your bird book...you make the embroidery and the use of fabric with the embroidery look so very easy and exciting to try...my embroidery has always been done on prestamped fabric....you are encouraging me to step outside of my comfort zone and see how creative I can be...your basket making is an exciting journey for you...I can see the excitement in your face and hear it in your voice...I am getting sewwww very excited for the quilt videos on your quilt project...I want to start that one!!! Happy Sunday and blessings to you dear Marion 🤗
Thank you Sheryl. I started with fabric that had the pattern on. Or kits where it all came with the threads etc... I think that's how most people start off... I'm sure you could do your own flower or bird..or anything.... Just have a go.. you'll enjoy the trying of it I'm sure...and you might just surprise yourself! Good luck..😊
That little bluetit is full of life and movement - just amazing. Your baskets are beautiful. I hope you get to film the basket making process some time😍
Thanks Christine. I really enjoyed stitching him myself. I woke up with the image in my head. I had planned on doing a different bird, but just changed it to the bluetit instead.
Marion, I am late getting to this video but now I have on all notifications. You are the most wonderful artist to watch on YT. Your love of all things hand crafted and willingness to try such a variety of crafts is so inspiring. I'm looking forward to the quilt video. I've been saving T shirts to make a jersey fabric quilt since my son was a little boy ( he's now 23). Love your baskets and the Blue Tit page!
Another energizing video! Your enthusiasm ,knowledge and love of learning are spreading around the world- how grand!! I’ve hit the pause button for working on my bird book until I get a few pairs of Christmas socks knit for my grandchildren! It’s such a gift from you-that when I can get back to it - I can just choose a video and get stitching! Love the willow baskets- I’m guessing that when you get the hang of it you will be making baskets of all sorts and sizes out of all kinds of materials-even cordage made from garden fibers or fabric strips or rolled paper! Sky is the limit!
Thanks Diane 💐 I know... it's the time of year when the crafty souls of us start going up a gear to get everything done! I must admit I do love it... Even though sometimes there's not enough hours in the day! Happy knitting... I'm almost at the point of picking my needles up 🤞
😅now I know why I connnect to you so much ,I also love so many things ,sewing d quilting knitting crochet jornal making bead making basketry oil painting water colour painting doll making etc ....beautiful work as always love all of it
Watching all your embroidery birds in this series. I’m dreadful with identifying birds so for 2024 I have set a task for myself. When I see a bird, I will identify a bird, then stitch it then move on to the next one. My plan is to create my own bird book. I have stated in January 2024 with the Greenfinch.yes it’s in decline but there are loads further down the Wear Valley where I live. Love your videos. You are so talented xx
That's wonderful Barbara.... I think I don't see as many greenfinch as I used to. But they do still come to my feeders. It will be lovely to stitch the ones you see around your garden. I started out thinking I'd do barn owls and kingfishers...but in the end, the ones I see in my garden were enough for me! Happy stitching to you...
Great memories revived watching your Blue Tit emerge. I used to rush to get the milk in winter before the birds got the cream or the milk froze and popped the foil lid off . Beautiful stitching, I’m thinking of having a go!
Marion I simply love your work, you area true artist. Nature is such a healing gift and your work and your your garden is magical. Thank you for sharing! I subscribe the first time I saw your work and calming voice.
Another stunning stitched bird picture and beautiful memories.. thank you. I’m playing at crochet with 4ply variegated sock weight yarn. My piece could end up as a pocket on a garment, or maybe the front of a phone holder.. I’m just enjoying myself. And your baskets are fabulous.. I’m also a visual learner.. so I’m learning loads from your videos.. so many ideas buzzing around my head 😊
I remember the glass milk bottles on the porch but they were put into a white milk box , so if there were birds they couldn't get to them. I love birds and sometimes draw them and recreate their colors with colored pencils, I am highly impressed with your techniques and will be trying them out. I like that you incorporated the pieces of fabric. Hello from the west side of the US in Washington state.🐦🍶💙
The little blue tit stealing the milk brought back so many childhood memories, I remember in the frosty mornings the milk had expanded and popped the top of the bottle, the wee birds had a feast without having to work for it. How could you pick up the baslet weaving so quickly,? You're a wonder. Can I put ky name on your Xmas list for one of them 😂🎄💕
Happy Sunday dear Marion. I loved everything about this video. The Bluetit is adorable and I didn’t know they liked milk 😂 Here where I am we have a lot of Blue Birds and they are my favorite. I also liked your new obsession with the baskets. WOW, they look great and done by someone with years of experience. Indeed, you have the gift for handcrafting! Have a great week!
I found you this morning and loved watching the blue tit being embroidered. Then you go and end up showing me the basket you made. Perhaps those that are good with their hands are always willing to try another craft. I also like to have a go at different things and have ended up with a room full of 'stuff' ! Thank you, I will be watching out for you and your next video.
Thank you Gillian and welcome to my channel. Thank you for watching. I think most of us crafters do multiple things. I know I have all sorts of stuff .😅 I like learning how to do anything that's practical..😊
Beautiful as alway, I remember school milk with the foil tops warm in summer ice cold in winter, love being your friend alway look forward to your videos ❤ xx
Thank you so much Paula. I'm so happy you enjoyed this little bluetit video. It is one of my favourites of the bird embroideries. There's actually another bird coming soon...it's just been delayed a bit as I had other projects that jumped in front!
Love your little bluetit stealing the cream. Well done on the basket making too Marion. 38 today here in Western Australia so staying in door doing some crochet. Although I did go to my craft class this morning, but it was cooler then. Looking forward to you next video and thank you for sharing your work with us.
Your Blue Tit is beautiful, and thank you for the tips about using metallic thread, I always find it a right pain to use. I love your baskets too, I use baskets to keep my various projects in, which is really useful as I tend to flit from project to project :-)
🎉Hi Marion , I remember rushing out to get the milk in before the birds got it. Love your blue tit. Such beautiful little birds. Your baskets are gorgeous. I particularly like the second one, a lovely shape. You are a very talented woman. I love to have a go at new crafts too. We have a great textile studio here in North Wales called Tecstiliau. They have some great workshops, if you are ever in the area. I've been on several sewing, embroidery and dying workshops and had a great time. I live on Anglesey so it's not far for me to travel. I'm so happy to have found your channel, good to see someone who will have a go at anything. Thanks for the inspiring videos.
Thank you Annie. And welcome to my channel. I do like to have a go at anything that is practical. I'll check the studio out too. I don't mind travelling for a lovely workshop if it's something I would really like to do. I went near to Portsmouth earlier this year to learn how to do flint knapping. It was amazing and I turned it into a little holiday as I'd never been there before.
Oh, Marion, your baskets are awesome! My aunt taught me how to make baskets when I was a tweenager. Very fun, very satisfying. But those were perfect little baskets, never cool like your artisanal baskets. You could easily make a round basket with a lid; maybe it could look like a pumpkin or an acorn. Endless possibilities. I love your blue tit. Is the blue tit your husband’s spirit animal? I love your story about milk bottles. We had milk delivered when we lived in Ruislip (near London). I don’t think birds pecked the caps. Where I grew up in Wisconsin, we had a “milk chute.” The milkman delivered the bottles into this square cubby with a little outside door and an inside door. If ever my parents left their keys in the house, they’d shove my little brother thru the chute. It was always kinda thrilling. I don’t know if my brother enjoyed it. 💜💜💜
Oh Mara... you made me laugh out loud at this story. I could just imagine it all happening too.... We once were locked out after coming home from a day out. We were almost at the point of breaking in the back door when we noticed the bathroom window was ajar. Michael got the ladders from down the garden and we sent Luke up them, he must have been about 8, and he managed to squeeze his hand through to get to the the window latch and open it enough to climb in. He landed in the washbasin! We buried a spare key in a secret place after that!
So much fun!!! So lovely to see. Also the baskets look wonderful. I am so happy for you! I crochet some bits of scallops over some branches, hoping to wave them into a basket. maybe one day i will. Thanks for the video!!
Thank you Carol. I was really surprised that find out that there was a group near me. I met the lady who runs it at an event at Gateshead Library just the week before. I'll definitely be back for the November session!😊
Your little blue tit is beautiful. As always. 😃I remember the birds drinking the milk or cream.. But in the '60 almost everybody had the milkbottles outside, as the milkman came early in the morning. And when 1 bird knows how to do something, every bird know it. I believe they started in England and soon birds over the whole world could do the same thing. I don't believe we have milkbottles with foil here in The Netherlands anymore. And bottles are in the shop, not outside. You made a lovely basket. You learn so quick (fast, I don't know how to write it) because you do so many different things. It is more difficult to learn something complete different. For me that is music. Not being musical at all, and I learn to play harp. I wait for your new video. Have a good week
I think it's amazing that you are learning to play the harp Marjan! It's supposed to be a very difficult instrument to play....but so beautiful too 💕 I like listening to music but I can't play anything...😏 I actually do still get milk bottles. Although it's not so common here either, I've never changed...
I love to play harp, but I'am not good. or very well doing it. But it doesn't matter I don't want to be a famous person. 😄I cannot read the music notes ( sign🎶) I'am just like a little child: I color them, and then I can play.
I have my own harp,, it is a smaller one, about 1m 20cm high. I color the notes in the musicbook,, and after that I can find the string (?) i must play. I have not a good ear for music at all. 😆I don't hear the different between do and mi or any other note. 🤣
I wish I was your neighbor. I would love to craft with you and feel I could learn so much. But I'm many, many miles away in the States and will have to stick to the videos. Can I offer one suggestion? When you put something up close to the camera for us to see, pause a little longer to so we can get a good view or so that we can pause the video on our end to look at. Sometimes it's so quick it's like a flash :) Thank you again.
I tried basket weaving a long time ago and found it to be too hard on my hands. I have the hand strength, but it dried my hands out too much. I am happy you are enjoying it.
Just think. Your basket with a jar of homemade jam, a bit of cracker, maybe some cheese. Wow - what a fab Christmas present that would be. Love the bluetit too. Don't think we have them in central Canada.
I think they're just European... Yes baskets of homemade goodies.... It's not expensive except on time. And if you enjoy making things it's all part of the joy...☺️
So so glad to have found you!! Darling channel! Great tutorials! Your work is amazing! I am in love with birds! And your thread interpretations! Wondering if you’ve done any butterflies? You seem to have done everything so you probably have but I have just found you! Thank you so very much!!💕
I know this is a little late, but as I watched this I was knitting a shawl - very lacy - and darn I got a wrong stitch in somewhere and had to unpick the whole row - have 233 stitches on the needle. It was so fascinating to watch you do the bluetit that I lost count of my stitches. I am loving this whole series of birds. What's next???
Gorgeous! You have inspired me to try making a bird using fabric scraps. I have only embroidered one before. I need to add a little creature to my Spring slow stitch piece, so I think I will try a fairy wren, after watching this video a few more times again first! Thanks Marion.😊your baskets are so lovely! I did basket weaving as a child and remember disliking it as it was so hard on the hands. I am curious if it was just the materials we used, and if willow is perhaps softer? I think we used cane and had to soak it in water.
I hope your fairy wren comes out well Leanne. I'm sure it will ☺️ I think it will be the same sort of willow. This also had to be soaked before use. But the canes were quite thin, so that helped. I can't wait to learn more!
I think I've seen the blue tit image you based this off. Had NO idea that these little birds actually really drank from the bottles. - how strange! Your finished piece is lovely as always.
Hi Marion Your blue tit is beautiful. Learning basket weaving. I always thought that would be a fun craft. Your baskets are beautiful. My grandpa weaved baskets for draining the homemade ricotta cheese. Your beauty and sharing has brought back some lovely memories.
You were quite right Marion when you said he’s coming along a treat as he certainly is a treat. My mum used to get her milk delivered and the blue tits always pecked into the tops to get the cream so I know it was still happening and the birds hadn’t forgotten 10 years ago in Haughton le Skerne. ❤️❤️
What an artist! I would love to know more of your background into stitching and sewing. What courses you have done, and your family of stitches. What sort of sewing did yr g'ma do? Joy Cambridge
Oh, I'm completely self taught. I first sewed as a very little girl because my Mam sewed clothes for people and my Grandma knit our cardigans... So I was making doll's clothes and stitching embroidery before I went to school...
You are a wonderful story teller. I love your page, and am truly blown away by your basket weaving. They are gorgeous. I look forward to your next projects. 💗
I'm really looking forward to my next session with the group in another couple of weeks.
Yes Marion this certainly did bring back the memories growing up in the 1950's and 60's when we had deep snow drifts so often... who could get to the milk first, us or the birds but they always looked so cute perched on top pecking away at the silver foil. Just lovely work
Hi Marion - your stitching is gorgeous, love the quilt, and your baskets are beautiful, too.
You are SO CREATIVE! Love watching you create these birds. Mesmerizing!
Thanks Sonnie. Not many more to go now. But I already have the ideas for new books...
I showed this one to my husband and told him the story, he said it almost looks real, good job Marion❤
Excellent Karen!☺️💐
You are so talented and this is a real work of art. It is so great to watch this entire process and I love the bottle of milk that you created to enhance what this bird is enjoying.
I loved stitching this little bird 💕

That sounds lovely Terri. I bet your Easter baskets looked lovely 😊
I lived in Plano and Sandwich. Was that your area? I grew up in Aurora, it was country back then.
💐 thanks Linda. It's definitely an age related memory. My daughter didn't know anything about it and she's 30 now...
You are such an awesome and beautiful soul🫶🏻🫶🏻. Absolutely love all your videos 🥰🥰. Thank you for all you do🤗🤗🤗

It definitely does smell good! I was surprised by that... Thank you for sharing that memory 💐
He is beautiful…and looks so realistic and I remember the blue Tits at our bottle tops years ago x 😊
That's what inspired me... I still get my milk delivered, but the bluetits haven't got that skill anymore..
Hi Marion, thank you so much for sharing the story of the blue tit and the milk bottles.

I loved the bluetit bird, I am so happy to have found you on the net that I am going to try ALL the birds.
My goodness! I'd love to be able to see what you end up doing...
Beautiful 😍

Fantastic bird page and the shading brings it to life! 😊
I do love how he turned out ☺️🐦
Well Marion that was delightful!!
I'm so happy you enjoyed it...thank you 😊
There's always so much to learn about. I like to have a go at everything if I can😊🪡🧵
Another beautiful & cheeky little bird 🐦 and the milk bottle looks so real its definitely a page that shows what things was like years ago , before plastic bottles !!!!
Such a kind message thank you 💐😊🪡🧵🌿🍂
Beautiful. Charming. I want to reach out a finger to pet his soft feathers. Thank you for patiently explaining what, how and why you make your stitches. I’m gonna use single strands more often now. Thanks again.❤️
So pleased you like him. It's one of my favourites that I've stitched.
I hope you get to film the basket making process some time😍
💐
Just loved stitching while watching this video Marion. What a treasure of a memory that you have captured! Cheers, Christine
I've been saving
T shirts to make a jersey fabric quilt since my son was a little boy ( he's now 23). Love your baskets and the Blue Tit page!
Thank you Wendy. A t-shirt quilt sounds good. I haven't made one of those. My kawandi video was just edited. I hope to post it on Wednesday 🤞😊
I'm almost at the point of picking my needles up 🤞
Beautiful stitching. Looking forward to the quilt and piccalilli video. I’m learning so much from you 😊
Thanks Kelly 💐
That's charming, really catches the moment. I think the silver threads work well.
This one has a special place in my heart... I'm glad you like it ☺️🐦
😅now I know why I connnect to you so much ,I also love so many things ,sewing d quilting knitting crochet jornal making bead making basketry oil painting water colour painting doll making etc ....beautiful work as always love all of it
My goodness... we're crafting twins Linda! I just can't stick with any one thing when everything is so lovely to do and learn about!
Thank you for sharing what you are doing. Very pretty. Love birds too. So glad I found you.
Thank you Donna and welcome 😊🪡🧵
You are a natural talent!
The birds are beautiful, your thread collection is to die for. I’d need a stitch by numbers panel 😊
😊
Lovely addition to your bird book !! & I look forward to your videos!
How lovely! I’m looking forward to the quilt video. Bravo for the basket!
It'll be coming soon... it's finished now.. Hurrah!😊
Great memories revived watching your Blue Tit emerge. I used to rush to get the milk in winter before the birds got the cream or the milk froze and popped the foil lid off . Beautiful stitching, I’m thinking of having a go!
Do it!☺️ I'm sure you'll enjoy it all Carol
Marion I simply love your work, you area true artist. Nature is such a healing gift and your work and your your garden is magical. Thank you for sharing! I subscribe the first time I saw your work and calming voice.
That's so kind of you to say. Thank you Gemma and welcome to my channel 😊
Wow❤ your baskets looked as if they were made by a Professional ❤
Another stunning stitched bird picture and beautiful memories.. thank you. I’m playing at crochet with 4ply variegated sock weight yarn. My piece could end up as a pocket on a garment, or maybe the front of a phone holder.. I’m just enjoying myself. And your baskets are fabulous.. I’m also a visual learner.. so I’m learning loads from your videos.. so many ideas buzzing around my head 😊
Sock yarn comes in such lovely variegated colourways... I'm about to start some knitting... :)
Hello from the west side of the US in Washington state.🐦🍶💙
👋hello Mel... I'm so glad you liked this. It's one of my favourite pieces of work...
I should be posting an update on all the birds soon...🤞
@@marionsworld24 I am interested to see what others you have done. Thanks 🙂
Oh my what a beautiful piece, this has really cheered me up, just what i needed to watch ❤
I'm pleased you thought so. I hope you stayed cheered up 🤞
Just love your work and peacefulness ❤
Thank you ☺️🐦
Once again, a masterpiece. Well done you are amazing. XX
Thanks so much Heather 😊
The little blue tit stealing the milk brought back so many childhood memories, I remember in the frosty mornings the milk had expanded and popped the top of the bottle, the wee birds had a feast without having to work for it. How could you pick up the baslet weaving so quickly,? You're a wonder. Can I put ky name on your Xmas list for one of them 😂🎄💕
😂 of course.....💐🪡🧵
Happy Sunday dear Marion. I loved everything about this video. The Bluetit is adorable and I didn’t know they liked milk 😂 Here where I am we have a lot of Blue Birds and they are my favorite. I also liked your new obsession with the baskets. WOW, they look great and done by someone with years of experience. Indeed, you have the gift for handcrafting! Have a great week!
Thanks Cris 😊 I just can't wait to make more! I don't know what I'll be learning next time ☺️
I found you this morning and loved watching the blue tit being embroidered.
I used to make baskets just like yours and many others. I’m from Arizona in the US.
Don't you do any now Pat? Maybe you have a houseful of different shapes and there's no more room for any!
Beautiful thanks for sharing your wonderful talent.
You're most welcome. Thank you for watching 😊
You are an awesome person! Love learning from you!
Beautiful as alway, I remember school milk with the foil tops warm in summer ice cold in winter, love being your friend alway look forward to your videos ❤ xx
Thanks so much for your lovely message Bridget...💐
Thanks!
Phew Nancy... that's hot! No wonder you had to stay inside...
So beautiful and definitely right up my alley! ❤️🎉
Thanks a lot 😊🪡🧵
Your Blue Tit is beautiful, and thank you for the tips about using metallic thread, I always find it a right pain to use. I love your baskets too, I use baskets to keep my various projects in, which is really useful as I tend to flit from project to project :-)
I'm in love with my baskets.💕
@@marionsworld24 Now you made me laugh. Little kids are handy. Before tv remotes were invented, kids changed the channel. Good times! 😊

So much fun!!! So lovely to see. Also the baskets look wonderful. I am so happy for you!
I crochet some bits of scallops over some branches, hoping to wave them into a basket. maybe one day i will. Thanks for the video!!
That sounds super interesting... I hope you get to weave them together..😊
Your baskets are fantastic, well done for a first try.
Thanks Ann. Could you tell I was over the moon with them?.... I just love learning to do new crafty things.
Yes, I could hear the excitement in your voice. I would be very proud of myself too.@@marionsworld24
Beautiful
I’ve tried finding basket weaving groups but never been able to go. Those are amazing 💕
Thank you Carol. I was really surprised that find out that there was a group near me. I met the lady who runs it at an event at Gateshead Library just the week before. I'll definitely be back for the November session!😊
Wow the baskets are great 😊
Hi love that bird ! Nice thread blending💞
Thank you Kathy 🪡🧵
You just made my day!
I'm so pleased!
STUNNING WORK....so many helpful tips and tricks, thanks...new subbie
Welcome Michelle. I'm so happy you enjoyed watching 💐
It's supposed to be a very difficult instrument to play....but so beautiful too 💕
I like listening to music but I can't play anything...😏
I actually do still get milk bottles. Although it's not so common here either, I've never changed...
I love to play harp, but I'am not good. or very well doing it. But it doesn't matter I don't want to be a famous person. 😄I cannot read the music notes ( sign🎶) I'am just like a little child: I color them, and then I can play.
Do you have your own harp? It sounds like you must have a good ear for music if you don't read the notes....
I have my own harp,, it is a smaller one, about 1m 20cm high. I color the notes in the musicbook,, and after that I can find the string (?) i must play. I have not a good ear for music at all. 😆I don't hear the different between do and mi or any other note. 🤣
Another fabulous pafe

I wish I was your neighbor. I would love to craft with you and feel I could learn so much. But I'm many, many miles away in the States and will have to stick to the videos. Can I offer one suggestion? When you put something up close to the camera for us to see, pause a little longer to so we can get a good view or so that we can pause the video on our end to look at. Sometimes it's so quick it's like a flash :) Thank you again.
Thanks for the tip... It's all steps on the road of learning ☺️💐
Amazing! You are so inspiring!
💐
Love the blue tit and the basketry. I took a workshop making corn dollies and really enjoyed it❤
It's years since I made a corn dolly 😊
I tried basket weaving a long time ago and found it to be too hard on my hands. I have the hand strength, but it dried my hands out too much. I am happy you are enjoying it.
I surely am. I had my second visit last weekend and made lots of reindeer and a basket...
Awesome as always❤️
💐
What an interesting, pretty little bird! We don't have those in Texas....
They're a common garden bird here.. their habitat would be woodland edge, which is why they like our gardens 🐦
Thank you so very much!!💕
I have a butterfly brooch and also some stitched moths. If you go to my homepage you'll find them 😊
I know this is a little late, but as I watched this I was knitting a shawl - very lacy - and darn I got a wrong stitch in somewhere and had to unpick the whole row - have 233 stitches on the needle. It was so fascinating to watch you do the bluetit that I lost count of my stitches. I am loving this whole series of birds. What's next???
I actually have one more bird still to stitch.,.. it's coming soon ☺️🧵🪡
Oops... sorry!
I'm sure it will ☺️
I think it will be the same sort of willow. This also had to be soaked before use. But the canes were quite thin, so that helped. I can't wait to learn more!
I think I've seen the blue tit image you based this off. Had NO idea that these little birds actually really drank from the bottles. - how strange! Your finished piece is lovely as always.
☺️🪡🧵💐
Hi Marion Your blue tit is beautiful. Learning basket weaving. I always thought that would be a fun craft. Your baskets are beautiful. My grandpa weaved baskets for draining the homemade ricotta cheese. Your beauty and sharing has brought back some lovely memories.
They must have been finely woven if they drained the cheese... How wonderful to remember that Brenda. Thank you for the memory of it 💐
I love this piece. You make it look so easy. I'm afraid my decision making would take a long time. What material to use, colors, threads etc. ❤
Oh..you just have to go for it sometimes Sherry.... Throw caution to the wind and just do it 😅
❤❤❤
🐦
You were quite right Marion when you said he’s coming along a treat as he certainly is a treat. My mum used to get her milk delivered and the blue tits always pecked into the tops to get the cream so I know it was still happening and the birds hadn’t forgotten 10 years ago in Haughton le Skerne. ❤️❤️
That's not as far back as I thought Sue.... Very interesting..☺️
That's a cutie !!

It turned out so charming! That foil top, in particular, just perfect! Oh and baskets! Wow! Can I ask what the basket making book is called?
The books are by Wendy Thorner. One is for beginners and the other is 15 designs for the home. Both seem really good to me...
Lovely basket too...thx. RUclips waynesville NC USA 🇺🇸 veteran
Thank you for watching..all the way from North Carolina! I looked up where it is and it looks like you're near lots of historic places...
