Nice guitar, great voice and beautiful song. Sad though. At 75 I know the end is not far off. Whether it's I or my angel first, it's hoorifying to contemplate, so I try not to. On another note, you are the first person, other than me, to note how a guitar smells. I play my Dad's '47 Gibson most every night. It smells like him. Before I put it in the case, I hold it close to my face, close my eyes, take a deep breath and whisper "Thanks Dad!" Shalom/gw

Hello Googleboy, My Dad was also partial to his old Gibsons. He's been gone some twelve years now. His last Gibson was a '67 J-50 that my youngest brother appropriated years ago. Dad was quite a guitar picker and my first picking partner. I miss those days, so I found a nice J-35 and set it up his way just incase he shows up one day. Yes, I basically built a guitar for a dead man. It reminds me of him, and sometimes when I play it it sounds and smells like him. Have a happy day, Sir.

Too bad Yamaha doesn’t make 12 fret to the body because I’m hunting for a 12 fret body acoustic guitar, however, I know they make great sounding acoustic guitars, I was blessed one day to come across a perfectly close to newYamaha acoustic guitar thrown away on the curb near my house, the intonation is close to perfect and because of this guitar my playing evolved into a style of my own.

I'd be interested to know a few facts - such as what is the width of the neck at the nut? Are these guitars made in China? Are they available in Europe/UK? Do some of their guitars come with Cedar tops? Do some of their guitars come with Mahogany tops? Do they have scalloped bracings?

    • @Fivcil

      1. The nut width is 44 mm.
      2. Yes, it's designed and manufactured in China. I've seen lots of folks concern about this. Will post a blog to clarify few things.
      3. Yes, we provide free shipping to UK.
4&5. Currently, we only provides guitars with sitka spruce and adirondack top.

I like how the company went into some distinguishing detail on their website. The nut and saddle are cow bone. With a lifetime warranty, they are confident that their units will not produce belly bulge over time and this is huge. Although representing that their lower end model is HPL, the company did not reference whether back and sides on this model is solid or also HPL. Appears that the company employs natural drying vs artificial drying techniques.

ONLY Fivcil S1(our lower end model in this case) uses African Mahogany Laminate on the back. Rest of all guitars use solid wood top, side, and back. We're not an established brands like Martin and Taylor that can sell guitars over $500 with HPL. But thanks for pointing it out, will change the description on product page asap.
For for the drying method, we know it's vital for the stability of the guitar. That's why we choose natural air-drying. And it's counted by the date we placed it on our warehouse, not the date lumber suppliers' claimed.

In China it's not against the law to cut down a tree that has the kind of wood needed to make a great sounding instrument. The US will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law if you use a very good type of wood, you know how cutting a tree down causes Global Warming.
When a company in Japan decides to build a car that's dependable, you see cars known for quality, and dependability, like a Honda, Toyota or Mazda. It's great to know that they can do the same thing with a great guitar. In the US, very few people that are making something by hand actually care about the quality of the product they build. The US has gotten to where they want more more money, more time off, better benefits, worrying about the quality of something they built is just not important to them anymore, that's why the Asian car market is outselling the American made stuff. Ask anyone in America that builds something by hand if they would put their signature of quality and pride on one of their products. I'm a veteran, a patriot and I love the USA, but what happened? Remember, a long time ago, we had people in America that were proud of things no longer thought about today, you know like Quality, Dependability, Value, Durability. What happened ? When I was a kid, my dad told me that 99% of everything is junk, now we don't even make an attempt to prove it's not junk.
