Thanks for the clear and concise video. (FWIW...I had to allocate much more RAM to the VM or the "packstack --allinone" would hang for hours. After several frustrating trys, I allocated max for my machine,11Gb, and the install finally finished.)

Hey Vivekananth, thanks for checking out our tutorial! We're glad you liked it. After installing the required softwares like mySQL, RabbitMQ etc, this is the equivalent command: # apt install software-properties-common # add-apt-repository cloud-archive:newton. Hope this helps. Cheers!
First of all I would like to thank you for this video! Actually as you said in your video after running the command #packstack --allinone i got an error! And I do not know how to solve it! I need help
Hey Franklin, thanks for checking out our tutorial. We're glad you liked it. The error can be solved by running the answer file that is created in the Running PackStack with an Answer File Run the packstack with the --answer-file=FILE parameter to specify an answer file. Replace FILE with the path to the answer file. $ sudo packstack --answer-file=FILE Example 6.5. Running PackStack with an Answer File In this example packstack is run using an answer file stored in ~/answers.cfg. $ sudo packstack --answer-file=~/answers.cfg PackStack will attempt to deploy OpenStack using Puppet manifests. This process may take a significant amount of time depending on the deployment options selected. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Goog tutorial but I have teh same warning. Time synchronization installation was skipped. Please note that unsynchronized time on server instances might be problem for some OpenStack components. Do you know how to fix this? thanks is advanced.

Sir when I am going launch my instances I got an error that "no valid host was found there are not enough host available" please give me proper answer..
First you need to check the output of "nova service-list" or "openstack compute service list". It should show at least one 'nova-compute' service with state as "Up" and status as 'enabled'. If the above is fine, then the compute nodes are communicating properly with the scheduler. If not, then you need to check the nova-scheduler logs. The nova-scheduler has a series of filters like Memory filter, CPU filter, aggregate filter which it applies to filter hosts based on the flavor you selected. i.e If you select a flavor with 16GB RAM, then the scheduler will filter (Memory filter) compute hosts which has the available memory. After all the filtering is done the scheduler will try to launch instance on a filtered host, if it fails it will try on another host. Default number of tries is 3. All these can be seen in scheduler logs. That will give you a clear idea on what went wrong. Also you need to check 'nova show ' output. If you can see the compute host present in "OS-EXT-SRV-ATTR:hypervisor_hostname" , then we can understand that the scheduler was successfully able to allocate a compute host and something went wrong with the compute host. In that case, you need to check the nova-compute logs of that hypervisor. Hope this helps :)
