I grew up in church, and as I got older I lost my connection to god. I’m going through a very tough breakup currently, and I’m still not 100 percent ok, but I realize now that god had to deliver me from my depression and everything that weighed me down for the devil. I feel him breaking the chains that have bound me for so long, every blessing reveals itself and I believe god led me into this to show me that he is the way, THE ONLY WAY! I will be in Texas to watch Josh preach. Keep at it brother!
Good message, but I'm not a fan of over spiritualizing passages. It leads to too much being put into the text. Too much isogesis and not enough exogesis. The kids love these messages though.
First of all Isogesis is not a word I just looked it up and neither is esogesis ~ the Bible says to study to show yourself approved and yes I believe the word of God can be used in such way as is preached because there are many scriptures that call the Devil a snake serpent, and even a dragon ~ psalms 91 says we will tread on the Lion and the adder ~ Luke 10:19 says for He has given us power to tread upon serpents and scorpions over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm you. That's why the Bible says we what?! Walk by faith and not by sight..... coming from your perspective~ do we get so bogged down with the technicalities that we miss what God is trying to say to us.... when everything can be backed by the Bible with multiple verses ~ then let the spirit of God flow and receive what he has for you. You must be careful or sooner rather than later you're going to say the message of the Cross is too simple. Tread carefully and walk in the spirit and be in the word and fast God is a revealer of all things truth. ❤

Well, just listen to you and your HIGH and LOFTY spirit, with your fancy words (isogesis and exogesis), trying to impression people (and by the way, I do understand what you were trying to express, by and through those fancy words that you used, and that was that YOU THOUGHT the original meaning, or original lesson, in that passage of SCRIPTURE was being missed by this preacher). But I'm wondering HOW IT IS, that you could NOT SEE the message that this preacher extrapolated (meaning to extend the application thereof), AND VERY WELL I MIGHT ADD (BY AND THROUGH THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST), A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE PEOPLE, AND A WORD OF STRENGTH TO THE PEOPLE, out of that passage of SCRIPTURE!!?? I can pretty much gather two, or possibly three things by your comment. Number 1, it seems as though you may have NEVER been BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE! That's the first thing. Number 2, and IF you have been BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE, you have NOT stayed FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST POWER THAT GOD GAVE YOU, and therefore, that IS how the devil was able to BITE YOU with a spirit of pride. And number 3. OR IT IS A COMBINATION OF TWO OF THESE THINGS TOGETHER. What I say next to you, it is BECAUSE I love your soul. So I am going to tell you in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, you NEED TO REPENT of that "spirit of pride" BEFORE it destroys you. PLEASE HEAR BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE FOR YOU TO DO SO.
