One of the things I like about Lando is that he's able to turn a story of needing to go to the bathroom into a Labor of Hercules. The whole time he was telling the story I had the same expression that Connor gives him every episode.

One lone man in New York City, ailing and desperately in search for his only salvation: Bathrooms. The conviction and detail with which Lando told his story of adventuring forth from St. Patrick's Cathedral to a singular diner that would end up saving him was so vivid, he sounded like a novelist painting a picture with words. That said, it was too much information I'm uncertain of I wanted to hear yet couldn't stop listening to to the point I was hysterically cry-laughing with my head in my hands during the whole roughly 20 minute regailing of his quest. Storytelling worthy of an Oscar, he most definitely saw god at some point during all that and the mental restraint must've taken a true toll on him. I cannot even begin to fathom what that must've been like to go through. Like it was an Avengers Endgame moment. Either way, it's great to hear you enjoyed your trip around NYC! A shame the pizza turned out to be 08/15 mid pizza at best when you consider it's normally such high quality but at the very least the Asian food you guys ate was tasty and the bagels sounded heavenly! From the description alone it made it sound like biting into a fluffy cloud instead. The city itself I can agree with being a pure sensation of vibes, the architecure is phenomenal too! It being such a large city probably plays into people caring a little less about what goes on around them. Even staying in your hotel room, you've had some fun moments you can look back on. And getting a bottle of alcohol out of paying too much for karaoke is a win in my book, especially if it lasted the entire duration of your stay. I could about picture the FF15 fashion get-up when you talked about your visit to the MOMA, Noctis and friends come and go in style so I imagine you were dressed to the nines! As for your impressions on the art you've seen, I share the sentiment of modern art being hard to figure out. Certain pieces do evoke strong emotions in you by the way they are drawn while others leave you completely blank trying to figure out any deeper meaning behind it. Some art is meant to be inexplicable I suppose, we'll never know. On the other hand, the NYC people awakening the beast inside Lando I didn't see coming - him howling of all things gave me the mind image of those graphic T-shirt-esque wolf memes you see floating around these days. 😂 Although the people there are direct and honest for sure, it's refreshing. Central park is picturesque indeed, like someone painted on a canvas and turned it into a park. Never would've thought the snake Connor held turned out to be that well-known, it looked so curious and gentle! Also what in the hippo talk... I understand you can't pull comparisons, each animal that goes viral is different but it still has a unique charm to it nevertheless. To each their own, though! Questions this time around remind me of how vivid dreams can be, no matter what type it is... Grounded nightmares that especially feel as if you actually experienced it in that very instant are some of the absolute worst, you're right. 😖 Nothing is more draining than waking up realizing it wasn't some horrible event that just took place. Meanwhile the Cars universe conversation gave me a good laugh, you went in-depth thinking about whether food is needed or if planes exist as well or not. Somehow bringing the caterpillar into all this again, your minds work in mysterious ways but I liked how much thought you've given your answers! On that note the white hair streak Connor now has with his full black attire makes such a great combination, that level of fashion is something I wish I could attain. The small glimpse behind the scenes was interesting, hoping Lando's glasses will be spared from further erosion though! Thanks for another wonderful episode, catch you next week!
Love the new hairstyle Connor (the suit really is one of my favorites!) and cheers on the NY episode guys! As a fellow non-dairy person I can so relate to the 'issues' and would be troubled by the rarity of public washrooms. Especially if faced with being given cream despite saying no to it. Going Zen to not think of it is so real to survive. Thank goodness for the save in that moment when you needed it the most Lando. Oh lord...that was vivid and I won't say much more than that. XDD The cathedral really did provide a blessing. Both in that moment and for that recording evening. Sorry you all had problems finding bathrooms and had a hit/miss culinary experience along with the karaoke scam. I'm glad you enjoyed the city in general and was able to see the historical architecture along with the culture on some of the most beautiful days imaginable. Those landscapes were works of art in of itself. That being said modern art is very subjective. I'm more for romanticism and the vivid landscape art pieces from that era. I can appreciate the expression and story vs the symbolism of a modern art piece as an art school grad. I agree NY is very cinematic in quality, the park included. It's really an experience, a very gorgeous experience with the wildlife too. The hippo...hahaha. I liked the stories behind the photo souvenirs. Nightmares that are so vivid and based in reality are hard to shake. It supplants into your memories more, I can't disagree. As for dreams that are so good that you don't want to leave I completely relate to that. I have had them and have definitely wanted to go back into them to continue the story. Juufuutei Raden explained it really nicely but I do agree that the idea of "I made this color" and giving it your own name is the most pretentious artist thing ever, reminds me of Hamlindigo Blue from Better Call Saul lmao.
The rant about the baby hippo gives me strong "Dude, Where's my car" vibes for some reason lmao. Also, you could probably make some sort of indie short movie of Lando's experience with needing to shit badly in NY and contrast it with Connor's PoV and it'd be hilarious. Oh, and for cheeses and lactose intolerance, generally the more aged the cheese is, the safer it is for anyone who is lactose intolerant. So yeah, mozzarella or at least super fresh mozzarella would be off the table. If you ever go back to NYC, or the general area around there, I'd definitely recommend going to the New York Hall of Science in Queens! There's a lot more hands-on kinda stuff, if thats more of what you enjoy.

As someone who went to art school (big mistake btw), I don't understand a lot of modern art either. There are definitely some interesting pieces. I cant recall the name of the artist, but he put a closed can in a art expo. His explanation was that you'll never know what is in the can, because its a piece of art. If you disturb it you ruin the value and the message. I don't know if I would call it a piece of art but its interesting. Also, proud of you for not shitting yourself.
Lando has to get that app that tracks all the bathrooms in public, it is so helpful especially in NYC,, in some restaurants, you gotta buy something then they give you a code to the bathroom cause they don’t want people hanging around in them

Modern art exhibits are super frustrating. Last exhibit I went to had several pieces that were explicitly stated to be interactive and the museum people wouldn't let anyone touch them despite that? Couldn't even see 99% of one of the pieces because it involves flipping pages.
Modern art can be frustrating, but I hope you'll give it another chance someday! Here's one way to think about it: now that reality can be perfectly documented and reproduced through photography, what can painting do that photography cannot?
(as an artist, and someone who studied and finished art school) -Yes lando is right, a lot of fine art is used for money laundering and museums are a big issue with that, we studied about it in my museums classes -I dont like Picasso, and a lot of my art friends also dont give a f about Picasso either -also connor dont worry XD, art is for everyone, it shouldn't have a "paywall” or if you are "Artsy” enough to understand it. everyone is valid in seeing art and understanding it in their own way, that's what makes good art: ) ! plus no artist needs to go to art school trust that private art schools are mostly a scam (i did public and community college and i loved it but there are a lot of parts that were deff a waste of time)

Professor, you are actually incredibly spot on in that a lot of modern fine art is, in fact, a money laundering loophole. Out of all the museums you could have gone to, the MOMA is probably the most famous for hosting these kinds of works... Artists are paid a hefty sum, and they put out something of low quality so that they can invest in what they actually care about, and their wealthy patrons don't really care about the end product, they just need to get it appraised for more than what they spent, and then sell or donate it and bing bang boom, profit. Very dumb stuff. I think it's incredibly sweet how both of you were ready to engage in the art, though. It's a shame the art wasn't willing to meet your efforts even halfway. One of the most important things this episode to mention, at least I think, is how handsome the Commander looked! The streak adds such a elegant flair that I think makes people wonder like "oh, this guy has an interesting story", ya know? Maybe that's just coming from a "character design" stand point lol. But you look very nice! How you styled your hair and then the crisp look with the clothing choice is very elegant! It suits you very well! I know no one asked, but I'd probably be one of those plastic kiddy cars you push with your feet if I was in the cars universe.
