Yay!!! More horror 🥳 I really want to read brother. Sitting on my nightstand and waiting…. Is the reformatory very spooky? It sounds super interesting and I’d love to read it.
I hope you….enjoy Brother? If enjoyment is the right word. 😂 I know you already got the Reformatory, but it’s not as much spooky as it is terrifying due to the fact that it’s (somewhat) based in facts. The supernatural stuff definitely adds some spooky vibes though!
YES YES YES YES YES!!!! A lot of my personal faves are here on your list and I 100% agree! Nestlings is high on my list to get to - I've heard so much praise for this one. I'm planning to reread the first Paisley Mott book so I can follow up with the second one. :D
Ahhhh yes you would love Nestlings!! Also eager to hear your thoughts on the second Paisley Mott book! I did a reread of book one before book two and it helped. There are characters from book one that I would have forgotten about.
The first three are all amongst my favourite horror reads as well, so I am taking the rest of these recommendations blindly from you! Some recs from me to you are Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle (great on audio), The Erstwhile Tyler Kyle by Steve Hugh Westenra (a bit of a horror comedy twist), and What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher!
The Devil All the Time is such a great book. The Hills Above the Gristmill sounds like a fit for Occult Detective October. My plate is full this month, probably. It’s currently free on Kindle.
Your adorable...love your glasses..I have a few spooky books I'm reading in October...IT...something wicked this way comes...the girl next door(scared for this I heard it's disturbing)..the excorsist..
Fever House and its new sequel The Devil by Name weren't written by Stephen King, but he blurbed both books! Keith Rosson is the author and was gobsmacked to get that kind of an honor! I loved Fever House, but I haven't started Devil by Name yet, but Rosson is a writer that blew my socks off with Smoke City. Everything he's written is perfection but Smoke City will always be one of my favorite books ever. I'm super excited to get to The Devil by Name! I think you'll like Rosson!
What a huge honor to make the list!! Thank you so much!! I appreciate you!
Well deserved!!
I just reserved Nestlings at my library. That premise sounds really cool!
Awesome!! It is amazing. If you haven’t read his other novel, Mary, I recommend that as well!

Hope you enjoy In the Hills Above the Gristmill whenever you do get to it! It’s great for spooky season, but a blast all year round. 😊
I'm finishing Imaginary Friend today and am loving it! It reminds me of Stephen King's writing style.
Yes, very King vibes!!! I hope you liked the ending!!
