The Russia Ukraine has been going on since February 2022. To understand the cause of this war, one needs to understand the history of Russia and Ukraine and PLO takes us through this.

They were protesting their president's decision, who had been elected on a pro-West campaign platform to change after ascending to power and start taking a pro-Russian stance. He betrayed the people and the people rose against him. And of course, the west supported his ouster. He was a conman and a traitor to the Ukranian cause.

Several problems with professors view on what actually went down. This war had it's roots back in 2014, well before NATO was even in the picture. The actions of Russia in the Donbass and Crimea in 2014 after the euromaidan would have had any country very clearly looking westwards towards NATO for security guarantees against the Russians and this in hindsight would have prevented the current bloodbath being witnessed in Ukraine. And just before the war, Zelensky himself went on record pledging not to pursue a NATO membership yet Putin still invaded. This is not about Russia's security or buffer zone between it and NATO. This is about Russia pretending to be a super power with it's own sphere of influence that it has sole access to. Ukraine is a sovereign state that should be allowed to decide it's own future, and they chose the more prosperous west. The good prof forgets to mention too that the United States tried to de-escalate for a very long time, they didn't send weapons to Ukraine until the onset of the war and actually together with Germany and the UK refused to admit Ukraine into NATO so as not to anger Russia. Russia can stop this war whenever it chooses, they are the ones that have troops in another country and can pull them out as well. However, historically, there's Czar Nicholas's shadow looming over Putin and he too is stuck. The EU cannot back down from aiding Ukraine because then Russia will be at their border, and they are a country you can't rely on to stick to a treaty. Couple that with the grandiose thought that they're still a great power in the way Soviet Union was and you have a military problem at your border should Ukraine fall. Russia is in decline, not an emerging power. It's demographics are in shambles, it's economy stagnant and heavily reliant on exporting natural resources and they have nukes. That's just about it all. And last, the Ukrainians, the Poles, the Czech, the Hungarians and the Baltics all have lived under the Russians in the Soviet days. They are not mad to vigorously refuse to be under the Russians ever again. Acquiescing to a tyrant's demand today will be akin to what the British did in 1938 and allowed the annexation of Austria and part of Czechoslovakia called Sudenteland. It is the same playbook but this time with nukes in play.
I didn't finish reading your pile of lies, if i can take you back before 2014 president Bush said Ukraine MUST join NATO, reason is known to them and any other person who is interested in geopolitics. NATO proclaimed that 'containing' Russia is their topmost priority, if you were Putin what would you do you wait until they reach your doorstep? Ukraine had in their constitution neutrality status until the US backed coup misleader came to power and changed it. The US wouldn't allow Russia to have military installations in Mexico, never.

It is quite unfortunate to witness the actions of your previous self. It seems that the colonialist mindset is driven by a desire for dominance rather than seeking genuine peace. It is disheartening to note that Putin has compelled neighboring countries to join NATO, which only exacerbates tensions. This situation reminds me of a new proverb: when a fool initiates a war, they often find themselves unable to bring it to a satisfactory conclusion.
Putin never compelled anyone but American hegemony lied to them, Russia is so big that protecting it is a problem why would they want some more 😏, Russia doesn't want NATO or US missiles near it's boarders. The same way US don't want Russia in Cuba.
USSR that came into existence in 1921 collapsed in 1991 under the leadership of President Gorbachev. America so managed the collapse of USSR by still allowing the concentration of power, weapons and armament in the hands of Russia, as to avoid proliferation of those weapons, at the expense of the other 15 republics that made up the union of the USSR. We must all remember that Ukraine was a key independent nation member out of the four nations that formed the Union as a result of the 1917 revolution. They had always been independent and had never been an appendage to Russia .Where then did the agreement of not allowing an independent Nation not to be independent enough to take an independent decision, of association, choice of friends of what have you. Ukraine is a pawn & its citizens will realise that Russia or NATO aren't in a rush to end the war.Soon Ukraine will have more ammunition but no soldiers.Russian economy is steady & NATO countries are it's biggest trade partners.

Our dear professor, there is omission which is important. Taken over Cremea was before zelenzky it is the visionary nature of him to see beyond what putin want is ussr mission if Zelenzky do not stop him all others neighbors will follow.
The conflict actually dates back before the taking on of the cremea. I recommend listening to the Tucker Carlson interview not to say Putin is right but to give insight into the history of the conflict which dates back way before the take over and it will give the motivations of this conflict
Native Russians living in East Ukraine were being persecuted for a long time by the Ukrainian government, bombs were being dropped on them. You need to know the real history and the reason why Putin went to war. Don't just listen to western propaganda and ignore Russia. To solve any case, you have to listen to both parties and gather facts before judging.
