if you feel comfortable enough i think it would be interesting if you went into depth with the reasons why you struggle with ballet because as someone who just admires it from the outside i would love to know more about why it is so psychologically as well as physically challenging
She has said in the past how ballet basically formed her body dysmorphia since it's a very beauty-based sport. She has been very open about her struggles with how her body looked because of that. Just scroll through her channel and I'm sure you'll find some videos of her talking about it.

Since the way you look is so important in ballet, it can be very stressful because you get much pressure from the environment you are in. When you become a teenager, your body is changing, you gain weight, it often makes you feel ashamed, especially when it happens to you before most of the other girls in your class. Plus, if you naturally aren't very skinny, even thought you still are thin in the eyes of other people, you feel like a whale because being 5 times a week surrounded by skinny people makes you compare yourself to them. Also, in ballet, you have to look happy and like everything is super easy even if your feet are bleeding inside of your pointe shoes. It also damages your body, it can cause body dysmorphia, and can make people fall into anorexia or bulimia very easily.
I've done ballet for 10 years and had to stop for several reasons, including health, and even if I miss it very much, I cannot deny that it had many consequences on my mental health and that quitting helped me a lot with my body image.
I am a ballerina and our jobs in preparation to shows is to take a ballet classes where we are there to analyze our bodies. So it creates a self image that we are not perfect enough because our job is to fix the things we see that we are doing wrong.
On top of everything that other people have said in this thread, a lot of dancers end up quitting because of reoccurring injuries. I thought that I was going to try and go pro before I got injury after injury and I decided that I’d rather not be in pain for the rest of my life. Ballet is demanding both on the body and on the mind, and there are many reasons why people can no longer pursue it

Im 13, im about to join ballet again soon starting this November. My last time having connection with ballet was probably around 5 or 6. And watching all these video make me understand ballet a lot more, some thing a ballerina has to go through, how does ballet rehearsal looks, etc, and i feely very inspired by these, you make me see ballet as a whole new aesthetic and i feel amazing watching your vlogs. Keep it up, Luna!

As someone who also used to do regular ballet performances and was constantly performing or rehearsing, I felt your nerves through the screen. I totally understand how it feels to want to take a break from ballet and I applaud you for prioritizing yourself because it isn't an easy thing to do. Love you and your videos Luna!! This is so beautiful!! I did a show a couple of years after quitting ballet. The nervousness etc was so real - knowing that you have been better and can do better with better preparation etc. but -- that JOY! of being back onstage! and just being able to enjoy dancing without worrying about how perfect I was was priceless. xxx

I am getting back into things too! I had surgery back in May and my dance studio is putting on the nutcracker so my first performance back is in less than a month. Also, today is the day i get pointe shoes back so i am super pumped and excited.

This is quite interesting. I remember being in a similar place, dance class wise when I was your age. I danced at the same dance school from fall of 2nd grade (09/1993) through the end of my senior year of high school (06/2004). By June of that year, my dance teacher closed her dance school. So, for the first time in 11 years, I didn't have dance classes scheduled for the summer, or even fall. Thankfully, we were able to convince our dance teacher to turn her garage in to a small dance studio, and several of us returned to dancing with our teacher out of her garage. So, I danced until June 2008, when my dance teacher truly retired, due to health issues. May 2008 was the last time I was in a dance performance. Since then, I have just taken open ballet classes when I could find them, and when I had time. Sadly, I damaged my right gracilis overworking side splits at the end of a week of dance classes during summer 2009. I didn't discover that I'd injured myself until after the muscle had healed, several months later. (Scar tissue is evil!)
