Besides, Liam being a client, the conversation between him and James could be understood to be James pushing Liam to do him a favor and get him the drugs. Since Sid never was reported to the police, any reference to him will not, in itself, prove James was talking about drugs. The only thing in the conversation between James and Liam that suggest they are talking about drugs, is James referring to the weight, and Liam saying how long behind bars such a quantum would expose him to. But since Liam isn`t a lawyer - and therefore the time behind bars could be incorrect - the drug in question is not identified by name, and the fact James is Liam`s attorney who it could be wise for Liam to keep sweet, I am not at all sure a court - beyond reasonable doubt - would have concluded Liam to be a drug dealer, solely from this recording. The court could just as easily have come to believe James was pushing Liam to get drugs for him, because he had a hold on Liam, being his attorney (knew his secrets - a lawyer who sets a trap for his own client cannot be trusted not to break client to attorney confidentiality either), and therefore knew Liam, being a club owner, could get in touch with people who could provide him drugs. And therefore the court just as easily could have believed the recording was something James had made sure to safeguard himself in case something should go wrong, so he either had leverage against Liam, or could blame it all on him. From what was said between the two, that only proves James asked a client for help to get his hands on a large consignment of drugs, not that Liam is a major drug dealer. So sorry, but James is a prize idiot - and far from even the standard of an average attorney.
