Thank you so much for the upload. Romeo, Marnie and Goldie totally stole the show, in my opinion. Why Sally would think it a good idea to bring JP back to face the guy who raped him, without even warning him that was what he should expect, is beyond me. Even the relevance of the Edward character fails me to be honest. Nothing against Joe MacGann who plays him, but the character is just so weird. Successful surgeon driving an early 90`s Jaguar, and who neither is able to inform Jack about dementia, nor it seems capable of preventing someone from bleeding to death AFTER THEY ARE BEING TREATED in hospital. Had he died on the scene, or even in the ambulance I could have believed it, but bleeding to death after arriving and being treated in hospital, that is odd. A surgeon not capable of providing the patient enough blood when operating, is not much of a surgeon. Which make me suspect if maybe the reason Edward uses his middle name instead of his first name, is that he has assumed the identity of a surgeon by that name, but isn`t really qualified to do what he has been employed to do: surgery. Maybe the bike rider had survived, if Edward hadn`t been in charge of his care and treatment after he got to hospital?
Disagree Marnie I think ruins the show,her humour is stale and boring and when she is funny they ruin it,Romeo is literally going no where,his personality hasn't been changed since he's arrived

The problem with the character is that he has had his legs cut off, so to speak, since both his girlfriend, Lily, his best friend, Prince, and new best friend/stepdad, Harry, has been written out of the show. Leaving him with only his sister, who has had most of her storylines with her classmates and Sid, and his father and Marnie to interact with. For a young character that is too narrow a scope. He is a teenager and should be exploring the world and his opportunities for both a future and some fun. Therefore to have the new diner centered around him as well as Marnie was a good idea, in my opinion - which worked well. Owen Warner, despite being a little wooden when he first arrived, also have risen to the task magnificently, and today embodies Romeo as well as the character should have been a second personality. Where to take the character from here is the question. Should he be part of a new romantic couple, like when he was with Lily? Should he have a rival, or a new best friend, like with Prince? There are many ways to develop the character. Even to elaborate on his and Juliet`s past with their mother. With the latter high on drugs or "working" most of the time, and it being up to Romeo to bring food on the table, how did he manage that? Did he steel? If so, someone from his past could come to revisit him, wanting compensation for something he stole or conned from them. Or did he have to sell his body too sometimes? If so, similar offers, or even extortion, could be facing him, should someone from his past recognize him and want seconds. The second scenario could even be used to expand his circle of friends within the village. Say Kyle overheard by accident the pressure being put on Romeo, approached Romeo, and together they hatched a plan. Next time the extortionist is in frame he/she is arriving at a hotel, knock at the door. Romeo, from inside, calls "come in, I am in the shower." The extortionist smiles, approach the bathroom, walks in. Inside the bathroom the shower is heard and the silhouette of a male torso showering seen against the shower curtain. The extortionist put his/her hand inside the shower, and Kyle`s voice is heard cry out: "Whoaw! Steady on! Who said I wanted company. The extortionist pulls the cover open, sees Kyle and says: "You`re not Romeo!? Where is Romeo, I heard him... Oh, he is going to regret having done this!" From behind Romeo`s voice is heard: "I am right here." From behind the bathroom door he pushes it open, waves and smiles. The extortionist is vindictive, and says to Romeo: "This was a big mistake!" Kyle is quick to intervene: "Absolutely! Walking into the a hotel room belonging to a stranger, going straight for the bathroom and touch them when showering I think would qualify as a sexual assault, don`t you? And when afterwards signalling you expected to find a young teenager there, I don`t think it would be too wild a guess both the police and the court would believe Romeo, when he explained you had extorted him to provide you sex, wouldn`t you agree?" Romeo breaks in: "Especially since I have the entire assault in technicolor in my cloud." He waves his mobile phone in the air with a devious smile. Kyle continues to the extortionist: "So why don`t you crawl back under whatever rock you came from, keep stum about anything you might know about Romeo. If not, the recording will be handed over to the police for further investigation. And my guess is someone like you have too much to hide for that to be worth the risk." That would have extended Romeo`s group of friends - and possibilities for SL crossovers - to include even Kyle. And through him maybe even Nancy, Charlie and Oscar. Even a chance for Kyle and James to reconnect. There are just so many possibilities I don`t have time to include them all here. Personally I would have preferred, after what happened to Sid in the presence of Romeo`s sister, to see Romeo use his brain to get Liam - who sold Ketamine to a teenager - behind bars. Romeo v Liam could have been a confrontation between brains and ruthlessness worth watching. Unlike you I find Marnie to be an asset to the show. Yes, she is a fairly strange and original type of personality. But with her mother being as she was shown when Linda Grey played her, the character of Marnie makes sense, since she seems to always have felt ignored and put aside - even put down - by her mother. Something which explains her need to feel special and to be better than other people. At the same time Marnie has a core of warmth and love which shines trough as soon as she eases down her snobbish needs to look down on others, born from feeling ignored by her mother. Marnie is a brilliant grandma to Romeo, despite not wanting to hear the G word, and equally great stepmother figure to Juliet, as well as devoted mother to the grown up James. Lysette Anthony depicts this over the top emotional character excellently, in my opinion. Juding by the comments Marnie`s popularity as a character also has increased tenfolds after she stopped being a psychopathic bitch, and instead became warm, but eccentric. That is how I see it, anyway. But off course you are allowed to hold other opinions. Just as I am allowed to explain and defend my opinions.:-)

When the most important SLs to be Ste and the racists, Breda serial killer, Maxine's Munchausen and more, those dorsn't naturally include Romeo, do they? It is also not strange that a teenager who have spent most of his childhood looking after his sister and himself because his mother was not up to it, is happy to,leave that job to James and Marnie, while he himself play games on tv and more.
