  • Last couple of days i have been testing the 3.7 and 4.7 of the Versa . 4.7 has given the versa a big performance boost. Solid vdi on targets , the best ID i have had of any detector that has been on this very tricky test patch.

That's an interesting video ... I appreciated 3.7 solved unmasking but something didn't feel right about it to me. But 4.7 seems to have tightened it up on Vdi n depth... I may reconsider the versa what eliptical coil will you use?

All depends on, I think they are done with updates on he d2 which is a shame as could do with more tuning in, as with the versa after talking to Arek, is going to go strength to strength. D2 nicer to swing as very light. Coils £350 each coils for versa are half the price.

What is nice is that you don't have to push a lot of buttons if you want it simple. But if you grow up with your machine and feel comfortable using more advanced settings to customize it, the potential will be there. Normally the manufacturer set their basic programs for the best average general use and you don't have to modify much. Again, if one wants to modify the machine's behavior for more specific use, the possibility is there.

@@HistoryRevisiteduk Can I ask why you chose to put the finds inside plastic bags? Wouldn’t it be better to have the finds touching and intermingling with the soil instead? I intend to incorporate some iron elevated/same plane scenarios in the test bed I’m building. Also, finds on edge etc, so that the full extent of the detector’s capability is tested to the maximum. I’ve been a detectorist for about 25 years and remember fondly that the only tips you could glean were from forums etc. But now with the advent of RUclips it’s a whole new ball game, as what was once only a written description is now revealed before your very eyes!
