      @@kingmeruem1 the wizards would’ve played in Japan anyways since they played there before but they had to find a team that also had a relatively good following in Japan also and what better person than Steph Curry who regularly makes tours there for brand and adidas and the reigning champs😂

    2:10 I just teared up a little. America is considered more inclusive and welcoming than Japan is, but not once has someone told me that being mixed is something to be proud of. Never in my life. Nobody has a soul that pure to say this to someone, especially a young man. That really shook me up.

      I mean why would you need to be told that in America? Sorry if I’m being insensitive but the person told him that in Japan because he thought otherwise due to being ‘estranged’ for his color. Being mixed in America is damn near celebrated so people aren’t necessarily going to feel the need to validate that for you even more

      Americans taunt Asians to eat lunch with other Asians at school. Americans threaten to keep Asians off the basketball court. When Asians walk down the street in the US, they are thrown a cup of juice by white or black. In Japan, such terrible discrimination does not occur. Why do Americans hide the fact that their country is the most racist country in the world? Count the incidents of racist violence against Asians that occurred this year.

This clip definitely gives a SLAM DUNK vibe... the basketball gymnasium... the seasoned middle school basketball coach is kinda like coach Anzai... the basketball enthusiast and sports shop owner is kinda like the female version of the one in anime... and of course Rui Hachimura is like the real life and more versatile version of Akagi Takenori... amazingly surreal!

    Would have been cool to touch on his time at Gonzaga too. I feel like that played a pretty big contribution to where he is rn as well. He didn’t even speak English when he got to the school and left ready for the NBA. Pretty crazy

      Mark Few is a great coach. Gonzaga seems almost too small for his potential, but he keeps being able to recruit a lot of Hidden gems.

    Hachimura, who is Japanese and became an NBA player, is really amazing.
    He is the pride of Japan!
    Hachimura may not be a star player in the NBA, but he is a superstar player to Japanese people.

    His coach really pointed out that being mixed is sumn you should be proud of and he’s a real g for that. Sticking out like a sore thumb in Japan for being “different” can be quite daunting. Love you Rui 🩷🇯🇵

    My lady is a Gonzaga fan and has been for a minute. She used to make me watch the games with her. Soon as I saw this dude play I was like “Yep he’s going to the league”. Good job Rui!

    There is racism in Japan too, everywhere in the world. But one thing I can say, racism in Japan is much more tolerable than in the west. There is fairness in the system.
