Would have been cool to touch on his time at Gonzaga too. I feel like that played a pretty big contribution to where he is rn as well. He didn’t even speak English when he got to the school and left ready for the NBA. Pretty crazy
yo thank you, NBA for making this video!! Now I'm more proud of him and Japan! Also, I appreciate that two NBA teams came over to Japan and played the game, which amazed Japanese NBA fans!!!
Hachimura, who is Japanese and became an NBA player, is really amazing. He is the pride of Japan! Hachimura may not be a star player in the NBA, but he is a superstar player to Japanese people.

Oh my gosh I love his story so much and love the people and culture of Japan the way they speak is just so beautiful and respectful much love Rui and all my Japanese folks🎉
In Japan he is a star but she is a humble kid because well educated he can play everywhere on the court physically strong so coaches must trust him in NBA because he's so versatile if he can get a ring I will be happy good trip for NBA finals kid
Great video about who seems like a humble and most definitely talented basketball player. I hope Rui keeps thriving and can one day be a superstar in the league. Also hoping that he keeps being the humble and peace-loving person that he is, as shown in the video, and not get tangled into any weird situations or change his character because of living in America.
From the day he was drafted, I always paid attention to him because he was japanese😂 an Asian like me. And as I watched his game, I realised he had great potential but just on a wrong team. So happy to see him working out for the lakers

This is so crazy. I am so happy the NBA dove into Hachimura’s backstory. I would love to see more.
