Josie, I would remove that bedroom closet door and put a beautiful fabric drape on a beautiful rod as the new “door.” Then the radiator cover is not a problem. Since it’s a guest place you don’t need a fancy closet. You could also put a fancy drape “hook” on the side wall where guest could drape the curtain when the closet is “open”. You could repurpose the door somewhere else in the house.

Fabulous, fabulous tiles - great choice, they certainly have the wow factor! Also a great idea with a 'wet room' for a small space, making it look anything but small, antique gold fittings, I love it. Your tiler knows what he's doing, the pattern is perfect. Maybe you could solve the door problem by cutting it down the centre and adding hinges on the inside, so it opens and folds back on it's self, to half the width... Can't wait to see the finished cottage, lucky guests... 🦘
Josie, in such weather, it is best to water the plants in the evening so as not to ''boil '' the plants.
When the tomatoes get older, you can cut off some of the branches to make the fruit grow better 🥰🥰🥰
I totally agree! I don’t have a garden, unfortunately, BUT my mum does, and she always insists on watering the plants in the evening, and her flowers made it through any heatwave. She said the plants get burnt when you water them during the day.
You are right, that's my evening routine lately 😁 watering flowers in my garden, veggies, while watching the sunset ♡ and they are thriving!
Evening or morning is fine, the only problem with evening watering is it encourages the slugs.
I agree with taking suckers off and the lower branches that touch the soil. In Atlanta, we have trouble with fungal issues, including blight, when watering in the evening. Morning is the perfect time to water for us. 🌻
Yep! Water in the evening. Take off the bottom branches, then bury deep when you move them. All the little hair type things on the stem can become roots, so bury them all the way down :)

Josie, try watering the plants in the morning before the sun hits them strong, and again in the evening when it cools down a bit.
You are right, if you wet the leaves they will sunburn, so only water the soil.
But if you water the soil in the middle of the day when the sun is hot, the soil will also be hot and the water you put will heat up as well. This will stress the roots, and possibly cook them a little.

When it is extremely hot you need to water in the early morning or evenings. Watering when the sun is high in the sky can actually burn or shock your plants. I lice in Connecticut and it is 85 degrees today!

Yes, good idea to water those tomatoes. You are right, water tomatoes from below. They prefer to be soaked then to dry out a bit but in hot weather that might mean watering every day. Here in Atlanta, GA I have had to water my potted tomatoes twice a day. You might try popping a couple of tomato plants in your raised beds. They should really take off and produce in there. You’ve had amazing success for your first real garden. ❤️

Great vlog Josie. The most natural way to get rid of the soreness froom sunburn is to dissolve a couple of spoonfuls of bicarbonate of soda in some warm water and bathe the sunburn with it. It's magic, honestly. xxxx

It’s good to put a long shallow tray underneath your tomatoes and water the tray. The roots and soil suck the water up from underneath.
Hey Josie! As for the SPF 30 for the face, it doesn't really matter if it's 30 or 60, the number only means that you should reapply more often! And as for 30 and more, you should always reapply every 2 hours, and more often for SPF that are under 30. Also experiencing a heatwave in Canada, hope everyone stays cool ❄️

My husband saw that the cupboard can't fully open in the cottage because of the radiator. He suggested cutting the door about 15cm in from the hinge and adding more hinges, so that the door will bend open in 2 places. This will only work on a solid door. Or you may be able to narrow the door, and make the door frame smaller and place the hinge past the radiator. I know you love the door and hinges that are on it, so perhaps the second option may be best?
Christmas in July is the standard in the craft industry we also sell Christmas all year round and don’t really discount either! Crafters (specifically papercrafters for us) always do cards in advance or even do a couple each month to spread out the task!
I wish I had a secret terrace, to sunbathe freely and prevent those tanlines!

I put my Christmas tree back up at Easter 2020 and decorated it for Easter. Because of Covid and being in lockdown I could not see my granddaughter so we could not spend holidays together so we did videos and it made her happy. Summer came and I decorated it for summer, fall, Halloween every birthday and holiday.,so now my tree will not come down till covid is done!
Decorating in November is fine. We decorate for christmas here in the Philippines on the first day of September and put it down in mid January! 😂😂

Absolutely love the bathroom… I just stayed somewhere and the draining in the shower was shocking - just thought I’d mention that you should check the draining is at its best because it would crappy if the shower water went everywhere 😊😊😊
