Munich Stopover: Return to Campingplatz Thalkirchen, 30+ years later

Tbilisi trip, Part 1, but before reaching the Georgian capital, it’s time to call in to an old friend.
Over 30 years ago, I spent three months working in Munich and living in a tent in Campingplatz Thalkirchen, the city’s campsite. I haven’t been back to the campsite - or the city - since the summer of 1991, so when this trip afforded me an 8-hour stopover, there was nothing for it but to head back to my old abode.
Also squeezed in a few other tourist spots, like Marienplatz, the Hofbrauhaus and more, before heading onwards to Tbilisi.

Thanks Miriam! As I say, the shame of it is I have no photos at all from back then. Back in the day of film cameras, which you used sparingly (or with tiny disposable income, not at all!!)

Thanks so much for this trip down memory lane. I too spent 3 months in a tent there in summer 91. I saw the spot where we pitched our tent on your walkabout .. looks exactly as I remember it all. A great summer , lots of great memories but alas I have no photos either.
