Many thanks Matthew for this incredible footage of Downhill and Castlerock station - sadly soon to change forever when the 'Down' line (not the one the train was on) is removed any day now, likely after September when the timetables change as currently two trains pass there at 6.10pm. Spent many happy years there, it's a beautiful station. Amazed at the length of the train running through on the clip - only ever recalled three or four coach trains in the 70s and 80s. No wonder they are currently working day and night to extend the platform on this site, the 'Up' line. Would dearly love some footage of the two trains passing at Castlerock before the Castlerock Loop is removed, but am in the UK at present. The signal box by the barriers is also to be removed with the crossing controlled from Coleraine. The recently restored footbridge is sure gonna look odd when it only spans one line.
