    The taxi close to the edge on a dark night is the worst. That is why you stay completely strapped in with the ejection seat armed. I am damn proud of these wonderful men and women. And very grateful for their service, many times in very demanding conditions.

    • @OFFGRID_Trucker

      Huh.. I understand keeping strapped in, but why would they wire up the seat to be able to disarm it..?

    • @Glee73
      @Glee73 9 месяцев назад

      the seat is armed, means you can eject at any time if something goes wrong. only once the plane is chocked and chained, and the pilot is preparing to get out of the cockpit, is the seat disarmed because its potentially dangerous to try and climb out with an armed seat.@@OFFGRID_Trucker

    • @DieyoungDiefast
      @DieyoungDiefast 9 месяцев назад +5

      @@OFFGRID_Trucker They're not wired to be able to disarm the seat. Prior to climbing out a crewman will insert a pin with a 'Remove before flight' tag on it which safes the seat so that the pilot can't accidentally trigger the seat. Same as the 'Red shirts' inserting similar pins into the missiles and weapon mounts to safe all the weapons.

      You go anywhere near the cockpit and ejection seat, you check and make sure the safety pins (plural) are in.

    If anyone ever questions why we spend so much on defense....this is why. We spend so much because we're the only country on the planet with floating cities capable of going everywhere in the world, and bringing armies of aircraft, subs, and naval vessels with them. We have this capability because if we don't, the world changes, shipping internationally would deteriorate into an almost impossibly high risk industry where the costs and risk of piracy rapidly outpace the profit, countries without strong manufacturing bases would de-industrialize as they can no longer acquire the products, materials, and parts necessary to maintain modernity... And that's just the beginning. This is what our Navy does, they make sure the whole world plays nice with one anothers freedom to trade. Easily the most important role in the world, and almost always overlooked by everyone.
    Thank you for your service, every last one of you in every branch.

    Trust and skill, skill and trust. The temptation to look at where you think you should be going, and not where the director knows you should be going must be overwhelming. My only experience of something similar was seeing trucks being loaded onto a stern only loading ferry in Italy. The deck crew knew exactly what they were doing, but first time drivers who kept checking their mirrors got a whistle blown at them, but if they kept doing it the greatest ignominy was to have the deck crew jump on the step and steer the truck themselves. I'd like to see one of your deck crew do the same!

    Looks like great fun you have flying a fighter jet. Also the amount of personnel on a active flight deck is astonishing. You are all true professionals. Thanks for serving.

    Wow this is such a great set of videos. As a lay person, it's fascinating to see and hear all that these great pilots go through, how they are constantly making decisions, following orders and flying the jet. We are so lucky as US citizens to have such accomplished and dedicated men and women flying these Navy jets.

    I absolutely love the NO BIG DEAL!!😅 Tell that to my wife because I have been watching your videos for well over 2 hours, closer to 3!! The USN has CHANGED A LOT since my days 75-78. I was stationed on a floating gas station humpin and pumpin! I was an MS3 so I took care of DA BOYS! I THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR "PLAY BY PLAY" especially for that airborne gas station!! GREAT FLYING!! GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP THOSE FINGERS AND TOES WIGGLING! GO NAVY!

    Awesome video! Loved the lead in. As always, watching you fly the landing pattern to a successful trap is a pleasure to see and best of all, to hear you describe what's happening. Don't ever stop sharing with us, all that you are doing while maneuvering because that's the gravy on these videos. Can't wait for the next one! Keep them coming!

    Yep. pilot, teacher and narrator you are the man. I'm almost 59yrs old and all through my life I've "always" envyed all of the pilots in our military. Now that job to me is "living the dream". Thanks for your service and the videos. Like the millions of others I've always wondered In detail how it goes down on deck. Awesome job explaining. 👊🍺
