icebomber17 there is a trick in the second world where you get multipliers from romans and then collect golden helmets from that weird thingy. you can pull thos of inthat village-like area
Its because he skipped one of the battles earlier. The game can only keep track of one "lockdown" at a time, so by skipping one, the others never start and the barriers never activate
If your partner throws a roman on one you are swinging above your head, you get a x10 multiplier as reward. If you jump and hit a thrown roman in mid-air, you get a x3.
Congrats for this run (even if I'm a little bit late...). I recently beat the game in around 1:48, ... but in Any%. Anyway, I'd like to have your opinion on something I didn't see in your run. I suppose it's slower, but I'd like to be sure of it : For the seventh laurel in helvetia, the one at the top of the fortress, I know its possible to get it with a triple jump (potion) from the floor, I mean the highest closest platform. It's a little bit tricky but it's doable if you jump on the left side of it. I can't really say if it's 100% consistent and if it's faster even if you avoid one catapult jump. For the laurel behind the barrel (10th in helvetia), after collecting it, I performed once or twice to go backward and jump on the barrel again by the left side, instead of just falling and climbing again... (but then, I'm sure it's possible, but not sure of its consistency). If you're still intersted by this game and if you have time to lose, I'd like to have a speedrunner opinion on that points... Then again, good job on this run !
Very interesting. I tested both of your strats and they both work perfectly fine and consistant (the second one is especially interesting, I didn't even think about that). They're also both faster than what I did. So thanks for advicing! (: However 100% is a pain to run. Every fight where you have to collect multipliers is heavily RNG-based and you have to restart the whole run when you fail two of them, which is extremely likely. Thus I only did two runs of it and its strats are absolutely not thought through. I just did it with the any% strats and what spontanously came into my mind xD I also were the only runner interested in the category. So don't expect me to do another run of 100% soon - if ever :x And since you already speedrun any% obviously, feel free to join our discord (link in the description) (:
You're welcome :) I'm glad if these strats can be used in speedruns... :) In fact, I found this category interesting just to find the best route and to learn how to do it fast, but I don't really enjoy farming that many helmets :( ... I mean, for the gallery. I totally understand that you don't necessarily have the motivation to improve your time for this category. ^^ I find laurel% way more interesting an funny to play, even if I'm bad at the game. :) In general, I love to find and test new strats, but I don't always have the time to do a full run, and I don't have enough patience to try to get the WR ^^. By the way, I recently discovered with your videos that it was possible to "fly" ... that made me want to play again this game :)
Would be awesome if you start running the game :3 And don't worry about the time. None of us currently 3 active runners speedrun this game regularly. Otherwise we'd probably be down by 1:16:15 by now, or something like that (yesterday we found a new bug that saves just over a minute) xD The others don't really have time to run it and I simply lack of motivation to run the game alone all the time, so a new, active opponent would be really nice :3
