My grandad owns a hvac business
Growing up I’ll go out with him sometimes to help give him an extra hand if needed. After seeing what they do, it’s not for me bro 😂. Putting a unit in the attic is back breaking!!

I had a problem with my 1980s ruud gas furnace and I was told that it was going to cost me $500 for the furnace company to come out and fix this and that's with low income disability 20% off. Turns out it was the thermocouple around it was only 12 dollars and they wanted $500 for something they probably only paid five bucks for. How can they sleep at night ripping off people that can't afford a $500 pill in the middle of winter. My house is getting down to the low 50 that night and barely up to 58 60° in a day. It was like that for two weeks before I finally got it going. And the only reason I took so long it's cuz I didn't have $12 to buy that part. And I didn't have any idea if it would really work or not. In the long run the entire furnace needs to be replaced but that's going to be a spring summer job where I don't need to have the heat all day. And I will definitely do this myself. As I might be disabled but I used to be a contractor I didn't do any HVAC work but I'm still familiar with just about every aspect of home construction and appliances. So it's not all that hard for me to do. I just replaced three gas hot water heaters this summer alone when I haven't touched any water heaters for about five to six years. Until this year or last year you could call it now

The best thing you can do is get on jobsite experience they are sending these kids out of 9 month programs with e.p.a. cirts. and many more.. and have no clue what they are doing. This is very important. My family, regardless of my advice leaves a couple windows open because the air smells "nice". The house doesn't smell bad at all. It's clean. However I have told them repeatedly that Florida's humidity sticks to heat and comes in the window and makes the ac work harder. This wears out the ac sooner than planned by the manufacturer, and raises the electric bill. Could you do a professional scientific video on this subject?
