Great video, Leah! Your posts have made me interested in PHP & Laravel. They're on my list of technologies to study once I finish with the things I'm currently working on at 100Devs, Scrimba and C#.
It's on my list. I've been curious about PHP for a while because I've been blogging with WordPress since 2011. Your experience with Laravel helped push it higher on the list.
Awesome job! I've been following the streams and they are very entertaining and informative. Thank you for the content and hopefully we will see more. RUclips stream maybe? Keep up the good work and welcome to the Laravel community 🚀
Thank you so much! I am considering streaming on youtube as well. So you might see a livestream on here soon! And thank you again, the Laravel community is really one of the best ones out there and I'm happy to be a part of it now
Great start, for both the video and your first project in Laravel! Maybe a note: A lot of the logic you've done with shifting, slicing, randomizing, mapping etc. - can be done with the Collections that are built-in to the framework itself. Eloquent result sets are also Collections (->get() as opposed to ->toArray(), which can still be used later), resulting in a lot more dense, but also readable code.
Thank you, and I appreciate the tip! I have played around with Collections some, but didn't think of using them here. I’ll have to go back and refactor my logic using Collections now like you said
@@leahtcodes Haha, the trouble of having "it's not good enough, yet" in the back of the mind. Have fun! You can maybe share those differences, with what you've learned about Collection features in a next video :D
Great walkthrough Leah! It was awesome hearing your learnings and experience building with Laravel for the first time. 🤩
Thank you! I'm having so much fun using Laravel
Love it! Excited to see your perspective on Laravel and I'm so excited to see how the app keeps evolving!
Thank you, Alex! Maybe eventually I'll post a Filament video as well haha.

Thank you! And you should definitely try out LaravelPHP. I was scared to try PHP for so long, but I really enjoy Laravel
