I would have liked if Soundwave’s plan worked in this episode. Like Megatron comes through the portal and is like “I told you I was done” and then walks back through.
He either wouldn't have conceived it at all since he was his right hand man and most devoted to the Decepticon cause for like eons, or he would've followed his close fellow in his new path. I think that could've been a good way to reveal Soundwave's true personality and motivations; is he loyal to the original Decepticon cause as everyone knew it for so long, or is he loyal to his closest fellow Megatron, whatever the latter believes and chooses to do?
Soundwave: *"Megatron...will return."* Bumblebee, shocked, looks up at the beacon, and sees it surge with energy. Optimus arrives just in time to watch, but too late to directly stop the surge of radiation. However, right as it seems as though the world will be destroyed, a massive burst of Dark Energon erupts from the portal, and holds all the radiation in place, before pulling it through. Bumblebee: "Dark Energon...Megatron!" And then, Megatron leaps down from the portal, his landing shaking the city, as he stood tall, imposing as ever. Everyone watched his return, especially Optimus. Both he and Soundwave saw, for the first time in years, their old friend. Megatron is quick to free Soundwave from the ice, as the formerly silent Decepticon kneels. Soundwave: *"Lord Megatron, I am at your command."* Megatron: "I see you have broken your vow of silence...nonetheless, it is good to see you again old friend. I thought you had perished during the battle for the Omega Lock." Soundwave: *"The Autobots are at your mercy, their Decepticon Hunters are unlikely to pose a threat to power of your caliber."* Megatron: "...There is no need for us to fight, Soundwave. The Decepticons are no more." Soundwave: *"What?"* Megatron: "After an audience with Unicron, I realized that we were inflicting the very same tyranny and suffering that the High Council once did. The Council is no more, and I have come to my senses. And so I have disbanded the Decepticons as a faction. I hold immense contempt for those who claim to be Decepticons, and yet are nothing more than common thugs." Soundwave: *"Understood."* Megatron: "I deeply apologize for any harm Soundwave has caused you, I imagine he wasn't able to learn about my decision until now. We will be heading into exile, though should the need arise, we will be by your side. Though I imagine you can handle these criminals by yourselves." He turns towards Optimus, who nods, as a little while later, Soundwave, carrying Lazerbeak, follows Megatron into the portal. The day is saved.

Everyone talking about how Megatron returning would have been sick but does anyone question about how Soundwave is even alive? I mean...he was trapped in the Shadow Realm dimension thing without any source of energon. And he was in there for Years!!
Most likely either the mini cons managed to supply him with energon or when he was first trapped he went into a sort of stasis lock until the power from the two separate space bridges awoke him and he happened to be nearby, once he got out he stole energon from the auto bots most likely
Even if Megatron had returned, he already stated that the Decepticons are no more. And being soundwave has undying loyalty to buckethead, he'd accept and ditch the Decepticons.

they bring the fallen in..........and get rid of him in an episode after he appears on earth. then they bring Soundwave in, one of the best characters overall they can ever even hope to have at this point AND hint at bringing Megatron back........sweep all that under the rug. 2015 RID gets a big F.U. out of me.

Agreed. The problem is that I think Megatron assumed that Soundwave was killed during the final battle at the Nemesis. He never found about the existence of the Shadowzone, thus he never would have known that Soundwave would be trapped there. He knew that Soundwave was 100% loyal to him, so he would have certainly fought till the end, even after Megatron died. Now, if he knew that Soundwave was still active, Megatron would certainly attempt to contact him, even if only to tell him that the Decepticons have been disbanded.
I kinda wish that megatron did show up and that there would have been no consequences of soundwave’s thing and that if he showed up he would probably have told soundwave that the war is over and invite him to join him but not as war lord and soldier but as friends

The only characters we see doing this were Optimus Prime and Predaking. If his skills hadn't diminished, Soundwave could have very well been a threat nearly as great as Megatron was.

See in Transformers Prime Soundwave was trapped in the Shadow Zone during the final episode before Bumblebee drove the Star Saber into Megatron's Spark killing him and causing him to fall to earth. It was after those events that Megatron was resurrected by Unicron to be his physical vessel and went to Cybertron during the Predacons Rising events. It was at the end of those at the capture of Unicron and his removal from Megatron's body that Megatron dissolved the Decepticons after having tasted true oppression. This message was heard directly by only two Decepticons: Starscream (who would go on and try to remake the Decepticons in his image) and Knock Out who joined the Autobots. As such he never learned about what really happened to Megatron.
Imagine if Megatron returned to Earth of his own free will amidst all this, having witnessed what Cybertron has become, and more importantly, just who is labeled a Decepticon in the modern day. A mockery of the cause he originally fought for, and even then, a mockery of the army he once lead. Decepticons were no longer mighty warriors. They were no longer the likes of the insecticon hive, Shockwave, Starscream, or Soundwave. They were petty and greedy criminals. Just the dregs of Cybertron. What if Megatron returned and witnessed all this, then returned to Earth just to find Soundwave free and trying to summon him, and Megatron felt his old war lord fire reignite. He no longer had a taste for conquest after being subjugated? Megatron, you were a gladiator who had no choice but to fight in the pits of Kaon. You knew subjugation. If Megatron had managed to return and save Soundwave, it would only be a matter of time before a new civil war broke out. One lead by an improved Megatron and Soundwave.
I prefer soundwave in prime. This soundwave talks a lot but says very little. Prime soundwave (almost) never talked, but his actions spoke volumes. His design is fine- but making him a motor mouth was a mistake.

They really did soundwave dirty in this show. They made him a blundering buffoon just like everyone else in the dhow, including Optimus, just so bumblebee could look good. In Prime, Bumblebee wouldn't have won this. Not as easily.
To be honest, they should've made season 4 a cliffhanger where Megatron comes back, and brings back the Deception Empire back in place, starting with Steeljack, Thunderhoof, quill fire, clampdown, and Soundwave.

Optimus/Orion Pax was the reincarnation of the 13th original Prime. It’s actually not too far-fetched lore wise that Primus would resurrect him again if needed. Perhaps his “plot armor” is actually the universe’s way of maintaining balance? Think about it-whenever time the Earth, Cybertron, or his fellow Autobots need him most, Optimus is miraculously able to cheat death. This is the case for every entry in the franchise. And seeing as though every Transformers continuity is part of a multiverse (with both Primus and Unicron being able to exist in all universes at once), we can safely assume that Optimus is Primus’ Chosen One. The Light to counter Megatron’s darkness. Perhaps that’s why Megatron never stays dead either….. Unicron wills it.

Imagine if Megatron returned to Earth of his own free will amidst all this, having witnessed what Cybertron has become, and more importantly, just who is labeled a Decepticon in the modern day. A mockery of the cause he originally fought for, and even then, a mockery of the army he once lead. Decepticons were no longer mighty warriors. They were no longer the likes of the insecticon hive, Shockwave, Starscream, or Soundwave. They were petty and greedy criminals. Just the dregs of Cybertron. What if Megatron returned and witnessed all this, then returned to Earth just to find Soundwave free and trying to summon him, and Megatron felt his old war lord fire reignite. He no longer had a taste for conquest after being subjugated? Megatron, you were a gladiator who had no choice but to fight in the pits of Kaon. You knew subjugation. If Megatron had managed to return and save Soundwave, it would only be a matter of time before a new civil war broke out.
One lead by an improved Megatron and Soundwave.

This soundwave talks a lot but says very little. Prime soundwave (almost) never talked, but his actions spoke volumes.
His design is fine- but making him a motor mouth was a mistake.

They really did soundwave dirty in this show. They made him a blundering buffoon just like everyone else in the dhow, including Optimus, just so bumblebee could look good. In Prime, Bumblebee wouldn't have won this. Not as easily.

late but if I remember correctly he was beating them up beforehand. Decepticon Hunters are plot weapons, whoever has the most is probably gonna win unless the opposing side can take them away.

Optimus/Orion Pax was the reincarnation of the 13th original Prime. It’s actually not too far-fetched lore wise that Primus would resurrect him again if needed. Perhaps his “plot armor” is actually the universe’s way of maintaining balance? Think about it-whenever time the Earth, Cybertron, or his fellow Autobots need him most, Optimus is miraculously able to cheat death. This is the case for every entry in the franchise. And seeing as though every Transformers continuity is part of a multiverse (with both Primus and Unicron being able to exist in all universes at once), we can safely assume that Optimus is Primus’ Chosen One. The Light to counter Megatron’s darkness. Perhaps that’s why Megatron never stays dead either….. Unicron wills it.
