The whole competition was great, I miss these hype battles, nice dj,unique bboys, dope energy and respect and the boi on the mic was cool too! Timeless footage!
I mean look at bboys now in USA. Everybody is trying to match judging formula for competitions. Not to develop some mad unique powerful shit. Style elements. Mind 180 , havikoro, fallen Kings, renegade rockers, boogie brats. None of the crews now come close to that energy plus unique flavour with crisp refined originality
sin duda esto es creatividad es lo que me animaba en aquellos años cuando comenzaba el breack dance viejos tiempos recuerdos bien bonitos aun me falta estudiar mas ..............pero esto es increible por que muy pocos saben lo que esto significa para uno .....
@@jrodriguez9017 it was cross one who said that.... freestyle session creator... back in the day he was the voice of so many jams... everytime you heard cross one on the mic it felt official.. i miss those days.... " style elements what ya got!"
Yeah. This is the battle that I always show to people who know nothing about breaking, and they instantly fall in love with the dance after watching it. I wish more battles would have fans sat in stands, like this.
I got to see a lot of professional and street shows, and both were out of this world, the movements of some of this guys were just too amazing And, I mean the music used to make you want to move, cause I went to some of this shows,at small skating rinks, where they had up to 200 subwoofers hooked up to 1000 watt amp each, you wouldn't imagine the bass coming out of those walls of speakers, when sometimes,it would knock the air out of your lungs, and rattle to your last bone.
What was wrong with him? I heard he went to prison after this battle, but was that not true? I know he didn't return the following year, to defend his title.
Yeah, me too. Actually, I still have all my old B-boy VHS tapes, going back to the first Rock Steady video I bought in '93/'94. They've been on my shelves for so long, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are unplayable now, due to the tape getting mouldy!
I remember back in the YA days in Houston off Telephone road, Kudos Lil John n Moy in a crazy way I always looked up to yall boys... yall set the standard for us back then.. Todd
crumbs and lil john killed it in tie breaker.. creative power, nothing like that today - everybody just doing the same moves, grabs, threads and transitions.
This crowd compared to BCOne. There just isn’t comparing. Everyone was so hyped. I remember the early days of FSS and ProAm people went and were hyped af. Wtf happened? Even BOTY was hype early on. I went to BOTY 2000 and it was the best experience of my life.
That's DJ Z-Trip on the wheels. I can't believe he played the old skool UK female rappers the Cookie Crew! They were great, but people today find it funny that they used to rap in American accents.
I like the fact a lot of respect was in there and all the burning and calling people out was in their moves not so much on the sidelines i wish i got into the bboy scene in 2001 and i wasnt the youtube generation :/
It’s 2019 and I’m still watching these battles ✊🏼🙌🏼

Music song in 3:50 is Plump DJs - Electric Disco
I feel like the early to mid 2000’s were the best for a lot of different reasons. Movies, breaking, energy. I know it’s nostalgia but still ✌🏻

Yeah. This is the battle that I always show to people who know nothing about breaking, and they instantly fall in love with the dance after watching it. I wish more battles would have fans sat in stands, like this.
Sad these songs they play are rare to hear nowadays.
Such a good battle but honestly, little Jon is the weakest of the 4
When expression mattered the most opinions never mattered
Josue Rodriguez hella gay

That's DJ Z-Trip on the wheels. I can't believe he played the old skool UK female rappers the Cookie Crew! They were great, but people today find it funny that they used to rap in American accents.
@@j-boogiebrown9961 because that's all we heard in rapping in 80's was coming from america, perhaps trying to follow the same vibe.
remind is frekn sick
damn "born this way" by the cookie crew (1989) havent heard this in YEARS!
I know, right? They were amazing MCs, but people here in the UK today would laugh at them for rapping in American accents.
Maybe you know the song which started to play at 5:30 ??
@@andrewsk6898 Did you ever find this song?
sick!! yo wut year is this?
Style Elements are tough, especially them two. Anyway, GOD bless all.

I like how things evolved from saying "It's Hot!" to "FIre!!!!!"
Does anyone know the music played in this battle??

The only thing I didn't like was lil Jon doing that same toprock entrance into his sets.
Very good! Style element took this battle.

@orzelos He's an amazing dancer. I know him personally and he could have gone harder. But he has learned since 2001.
I like the fact a lot of respect was in there and all the burning and calling people out was in their moves not so much on the sidelines

Can they not hear the track that's playing? This is so disassociated to the music that it's hard to enjoy.
What's the name of Moy's move at 1:51>1:55 ?
