I bought this album when it was released in 1982 (when I was a high school senior) and more than 40 years later, it's still one of my all-time favorite LPs. Who's still listening to JVZ today?
Actually Just saw him sing last night here in Connecticut they were playing with ZZ Top and The Outlaws, singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard, had no idea he was in any other band, Just assumed he eventually took over for his brother as lead singer of LS when got a little older.
I could have seen them on this tour but I didnt want to leave my boss hanging at the last minute. My brother and I got into a fist fight over it behind the building over it. haha He had the tickets and I had the car. So neither of us went to the show. We both got bloody and bruised up. I should have just blown off work and went. haha
@@SARATT69 I saw it like 3 times on MTV where I worked when I use to clean the bar before it opened at 5pm. MTV wasnt on our cable provider one town over. so when I cleaned the bar I always turned MTV on. It wasnt til 2013 I found the video on you tube 22 years later. haha
I've been looking for this song since it was on the radio back then & a month ago finally on another you tube channel but the quality was not as good as this so thanks for posting!!!
@@whiteyfisk9769 I've heard Ronnie doing the same thing. I can never remember which track it is. Once I realized it was Ronnie singing with Ronnie, I couldn't unhear it and I didn't think much of the effect. I think Gregg Allman had some of the same double track vocals on Southern Blood, his last and first posthumous album. He was not able to do much more with his voice at that time. Someday I'm going to buy a copy of that cd. I think it is creepy how the artwork for the album that was copied included actual "Allman" blood from Gregg and various Allman children. Talk about creepy.
Several years ago I played this video for a girl I was dating and she commented how hot Johnny was and how he had IT. haha I said, calm yo ass down! haha
Eric Lundgren great guy great guitar player. I got to meet him at a local bar they were playing, I am a guitar player too it was nice to meet him I hope he is doing well. Bass note selection is really good in this song too
You talking about the one who looks like Allen Collins, or the blonde one? You have to specify in these southern bands, there's always more than one lead guitarist
@@impalaman9707 Erik Lundgren is the brown-haired one selling the tickets in the beginning of the video and featured in the solo. Robbie Gay is the other guitarist.

Big fan.
Me! Had all his/their albums, then cassettes, then CDs. I had to replace all my JVZ CDs a few years ago after my storage unit was ripped off.
2024, right here 👋🏽😎

The first 2 albums were a bit heavier but this is still GREAT total 38 Special feel to it..but better! Must run in the family 🏃♀️

Reminds me of probably the best time in my life. #Summer
Eric is a great southern guitarist don't stop what your doing I've seen your latest
I saw the Johnny Van Zant in a bar in Jacksonville NC in 1982.
Really good players in his band.
I just discovered this song I love it.
What a awesome performance by Johnny and also the Band Members Rock on 🤘. I live in the State of Wisconsin it's sure sounds good.
Great song and video
Johnnys voice sounded fantastic !
This entire album is great, especially side 1.
Johnny Proved it On his Own! Carrying the Torch 🎤 for His Brother! It was the Right Career💲Move! Lynyrd Skynyrd is a 🌎 Wide Brand.
It’s You… 🎸 Johnny’s Best
Naturalmente rock and roll melódico ❤❤👋👋 great times!!!
STILL ROCKIN BROTHERS! TO ALL THE MEMORIES.HERES TO YA!
Thanks so much for the video. Great song, great album. It’s great to hear Johnny pre Skynyrd. His 2nd album Round 2 rocks!
Saw these guys back when *I'm A Fighter" came out. They did "I Aint' The One." Johnny said, "This is the only Skynyrd we do." It kicked ass!

The guitar players he had here were his best, fresh n full of ideas....was excited about this band because of my love for his bro
Now, this is more like it, Johnny!
Hell yeah, Erik! Sounds awesome!
Very good album..🎤🎸
🎶 It's you that I want 🎶
The BEST guitar of world
Very cool! I never knew this song had a video! I wonder if they had one for "Who's Right or Wrong."
Believe it or not, MTV used to show this video often in their early days. I remember this video being played along with 38 Special back in 1981.

Yes, there also was a video for "Who's right or wrong", look here: ruclips.net/video/R6YjRlFGeK8/видео.html
Johnny VanZant A+ at the crossroads and the universe forevermore
Damn good song, Doyle!
I've had this album for over 35 years. Great song and video Thank you
For the longest time I thought this was .38 Special, because they were starting to break out around this time.
Happy birthday
My Brother
He wrote this song about me😉😍

Is that uncle Ted at the beginning
Bought the vinyl at Sound Cellar in Angola, Indiana.
I used to play at Skips in the 80's in Angola
This could have very easily been a 38 Special or Sammy Hagar song--same kind of hook
No doubt more 38 sounding than Skynyrd
That’s what I was thinking! Hahah. I like that sound.
@@bitteralmonds666 Good ol' early 80s hard rock! Can't you just imagine this song fitting in on the Heavy Metal soundtrack album?
@@impalaman9707
Also Joe Dirt! Both movies were very inspirational in my young years.
🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
A double track vocal for Johnny. He's singing a duet with himself.
I think Ronnie Hammond (ARS) did a lot of the backing vocals for the "Last of the wild ones" album..
Yea, that really became mainstream in the late 70s and early 80s. It helped singers that werent that great sound better and more powerful.

Makes ya wonder what if...
Johnny had a better and more refined voice than Ronnie. Obviously Ronnie was the songwriter and front man of his era.
Ronnie even told his parents Johnny was the best singer in the family

Morris was a effing great drummer, to! Youngest in the band!
