I do hope that Vans keeps investing in midsole and cushioning tech: there is a real market for the Vans look combined with the comfort of something like Boost/React. Vans and Converse just have so much cred and raw style.

you got the wrong comfy cush to use as a comparison, you picked up some surf slip-on shoes that's what the sf means on any vans shoe. they're generally a way thinner material in comparison to traditional canvas. last year vans released classic models in a "lite" version, they were well received but lacked traction/grip. thus scraping the lites and reintroducing them as comfy cush, same light weight shoe with added grip and a better insole.

The appeal of vans comes from the price and style, plus they’re good for skating. The obvious drawback to them is that they’re not very comfy. I’m personally more of an af1/jordan 1 guy but I like wearing sk8 hi’s every now and then.

The shoes design is meant for skating but it’s a huge con that they’re uncomfortable. I’ve been skating with vans for a while and i’ve decided to stop because my sessions are always great but my feet HURT for the rest of the day. I’m not an expert or anything but whatever technology Adidas uses for comfort is wayyy better. The only con is they don’t last as long as vans do. Glad you did a review actually comparing the regular from the “comfy cush” I actually thought about buying a pair of the slip on comfy cush to see if I liked them better than my regular slip ons and honestly I wasn’t impressed. I by no means have super skinny feet but my feet aren’t super wide and usually my slip ons fit a little snug for maybe a week but once they break in they stretch out and are super comfy, when I tried on the comfy kush ones they felt even more snug than the regular ones(probably cause of the different cushioning). So that was an immediate con for me, and honestly I didn’t find the new cushioning to really be any more comfy than just regular vans. Sure the classic vans might be a tad bit heavier but that’s cause at the end of the day vans are still a skate shoe and they are meant to be more durable than some lifestyle sneaker. Glad someone else also believes they aren’t worth it. If your gunna spend $60 or more on vans your better off getting the pro versions of the classic shoes that have the thicker insole for impact protection while skating. Any vans with the thick insole are gunna be super comfy. Or if you want lightweight but more comfy and fit better check out the vans ultrarange line of shoes.

  • @guillermoortiz1492

If you stick with the OG comfy cush they are worth it , especially the sk8 hii. Avoid the slip ons they will slip off heel no matter what size you get. If you desire low tops with comfy cush buy the ultrarange models. They are absolutely comfy for everyday usage and stylish . They even have the checkered ultrarange . They are light as well , easy to slip on , no sock holster and no break in period . Truly ultrarange is the way to go .

  • @hypnagogue

tried on the comfycush old skools in store, felt more supportive and slightly more comfortable than the classics but I noticed immediate crease lines in the midsole. I don't think they will age nicely with wear like the classics do and I don't think it's worth a $10 upgrade from the classics, I'll just stick to the pro skate vans bc those have an ultracush insole.

Got a pair of the Kyle Walker Coral Snakes. I only have a few pairs of Vans and always forget that they are a bit narrow for me. The Coral Snake will be a tough break-in since they're leather but the Cush is actually rather nice. They have a few non-traditional looking Vans now that I want to try out (like the UltraRange Rapidweld) because they look a bit wider. I think it's worth trying. If you're a Vans fan, you probably already have a pair. If you've never owned Vans, you should try on a pair in store rather than buying online right away but yeah, buy the pro models, not that newer, thinner canvas.

Just a nit to pick, you shouldn't really call the foxing tape around a vulcanized shoe a mid-sole because it's not a one. It's just tape, and it binds the outsole and whatever serves as the mid-sole (if there is anything there) to the shoe. Even if there is something that serves as a mid sole, it's not the tape.

Hes! Great video, but I just thought I'd let you know that those aren't the classic Slip-Ons! Those are the Slip-On SF, SF meaning surf. There was a change in upper material to make it lighter and more surf like, I guess lmao. There are the Classic Slip-On Black and White Checkerboard comfycush for sale with the canvas upper.

I would recommend comfy cush as it feels bouncey and feels great way better than pop cush. Also pop cush usually weres out faster than comfy cush.
Like after walking in it for a month for the pop cush the insole bottoms out and looses its comfort.

  • @afonsolamy8099

They are more confortable but less durable, the "not rubber thing" midsole is EVA Foam, the rubber is thiner on the outsole so sooner or later you Will be drifting on Eva. The all sole is narrower that the upper and that comes with breaking points problema

So they are definitely worth buying then, if you use them for BMX or mountain bike. I only use Vans because the waffle design helps me stick to my pedals. The only thing they lack though, is comfort when I land and feel the pedals shock through me. I will definitely try them. 🤙🏽 🤙🏿 🤙🏻

1: Who wouldn't trade discomfort for comfort? Are they even human?
    2. The shoes are light and primarily made for comfort. To say it feels cheap and looks like a knock off is harsh.
GR vans aren't durable and feel cheap. They're infamous for their mid-sole separation after a few wears due to the cheap glue used to hold them together, whereas the Comfy Cush are constructed in a unibody design which results in a more polished shoe.
If you're in search of more premuim and durable Vans, then the Vault Line is the way to go. Afterall, the line was releasing OG quality shoes long before Nike's inception of its "remastered program", all the while providing its costumers with poorly made shoes. Y'all bitched about it, but you still bought them.
3: The model you have is from their surf line(if you fold in the back, you can wear it as a slipper), so of course the material will be different. You should've done more research before you made your purchase.
Also, there is nothing premium about GR Vans.
4: They are narrow from the start, but as you wear them, they will eventually stretch to accommodate your feet(I'm a wide footed individual). When that happens, you wouldn't have to wear "really, really thin socks".
5: Your final thought is mute due to your overwhelming ignorance about the product.
I can't take a Vans review seriously from someone who primarily wears Nikes and Adidas.

    • @CaliKiid714
      @CaliKiid714 5 лет назад +1

Yup I agree with all your points. His lack of knowledge in Vans' products makes this review look bad. Lighter and softer doesn't mean cheap and less durable! Actually every shoes I buy in some very high quality brands (and I don't talk about stupid popular sport brands) are light as a feather and soft as a cloud inside and outside. And yeah, they last and last and last. You should know better if you are making shoes reviews.
