Dell the goat seems like a direct reference to the Black Goat of Qohor, which is a religion from Old Valyria. Considering Daemon’s respect of Valyrian tradition, it makes sense that he would see a Valyrian deity in his visions. It also suggests that the pantheons of Essos and Westeros are connected.
I mean idk if the books ever say it, but it feel like just Valyrian heritage rather than just Targaryen would be needed to ride a dragon, cause it’s not like there weren’t other dragon lords in old Valyria.
I'd say Rhaenyra looked more vengeful. That's the dragon that killed her son, the brother who killed her son, and another brother who sits her throne in an act of treason! Emma did great capturing all that baggage into that final look, but I hope this time Rhaenyra actually follows it up with something badass (perhaps even reckless!).
“In the Riverlands, Daemon spent four episodes Tripping Balls and Doing War Crimes….” Holy Sh**… the dead pan delivery was too perfect. I had to press pause and just laugh my ass off for a few minutes. Whew!, @AltShiftX you got me crying real tears over here! Thank You for all the great content!
@16:46 This is ANOTHER problem that can be traced-back to Daemon. Without his influence, Rhaenyra might have just married Harwin, since as the heir to an ancient and storied noble house, he would have been a perfectly-acceptable consort for a royal. But because Daemon caused a scandal with Rhaenyra to try to get Viserys to betroth her to him, Viserys insisted she marry Laenor, since it was the best political match, and because Daemon convinced her "Targaryens can do whatever they want," she kept Harwin as a paramour, and thus the whole drama with the Greens about Jace, Luke, and Joffrey not looking like Laenor
Addam's response makes alot of sense with the context that a) he's lowborn. He may have vague knowledge of the politics but staking your life on two people being friends who you hope are so is a big risk and b) he doesnt know how bastards will be treated. Look at how his father acts to him. For all he knows he may be burned on the spot. The dragon is his only grounding.
Fr. I enjoyed him getting smacked around by ancient magic and his bad decisions in the past but it's getting tiresome now. For someone who was hyped as the renegade bad boy, he's not being doing a lot this season
@@shrineguard2778 Because he litertally does nothing in the book during his time at Harrenhall. So they´re using it to explore his character. Something the book doesnt do.
I know it doesn't really make sense but I like to think that Silverwing was just like: "Awww, aren't you a handsome little man! What's that little guy? You wanna ride me? Well, I guess it has been a while since I got out and stretched the old wings, and you seem like a sweet boy! Hop on!"
The problem is the visions are working ONLY in the last episodes They could make Daemon to act like stages of mourning Anger fear denial negociation blablabla OR EVEN BETTER waste the screentime in talking with the Riverlords every episode until the 6 or 5
@11:00 The quote refers to Dragonseeds as "happy bastards" because the smallfolk of Dragonstone and Driftmark viewed the Targaryens and Velaryons as being divine people or demigods, so to bear the child of one of them was to be blessed..... and not just blessed in a magical way, but also blessed with gifts of money and land to the mother and her family by the father of her bastard child. This further increased smallfolk maidens' willingness to lay with nobles of Valyrian families, regardless of if they were attracted to the nobles, simply as a matter of practicality. When you grow up a peasant, the idea of "if you bear a Targaryen or Velaryon bastard, you are not only the mother to a semi-divine child, but you and your family are rewarded generously and are able to live a bit more comfortably (or more than a bit, depending on the person giving the gifts,) and it ISN'T considered a stain on your honor that affects your ability to find a husband (like how in most of Westeros, bearing a bastard child is a HUGE faux-pas,)" it seems like a pretty good deal, and this meant Dragonseeds were plentiful on both islands
The show really has to address Larrys incompetence at this point. I find it wild that such a high risk operation of procuring the dragonseeds went off flawlessly.

@@JustAnotherAccount8 Got books are bigger books and lot more to go off then Fire and blood hot D are working with small story point in few chapters of a book and about 4 major battles they are not going fit in 2 or 3 season to satisfy you.
@@WeirwoodNet I'm not really a big battle guy anyways. I'm more interested in the dialogue and intrigue which frankly this should have. Besides iirc this is going to be a 5 season show, there is plenty of time to explore everything.
thank you for your vids! they helped a lot during my hospital stay. thank you!
Many others make videos right after the episode but Alt Shift X takes his time to make a good, very well thought video. You are the best of all ASX. No one comes near close to the quality of your insights. You don’t need any fluff either. Straight to the commentary. Kuddos to you man. I have been a subscriber for years.
Did you forget the explainer video for episode 8?
It's been long since we've been waiting
Thanks so much for making these. They've deepened my appreciation for the show and the lore, and you're very good at what you do.
I was watching your live stream vod as it got taken down 😭😭😭
I watch all of the channels putting out this content but man, yours is straight up the best every time.
Ulf steps on Silverwing's eggs and Silverwing goes BOOP
Alicent going camping was kind of based.
Hugh Hammer: Fus Ro Dah!
Vermithor: He is Dovahkiin! Dragonborn!
Damn the showrunners messed up so bad that Alt Shift still looking for explanations all their nonsense
I DREAM OF THE DAY THAT YOU MAKE A 2 hour long video covering the last two books love ya Alt shift
The fact that you changed the thumbnail to put Hugh on make me smile 😊
I'm so sad tomorrow is the season finale. I feel like it had just started. It was a great season, though, and I eagerly await the next!
25:16 Aemond doesn't actually see that Rhaenyra has Seasmoke as well, he sees that she has Vermithor, Silverwing and Syrax
Then the dragons came down, and gave everyone a little kiss on the lips,, thus ending the Dance of Dragons.
I can’t find the episode 8 live
Bro, when are we getting the video for the last ep?
Dell the goat seems like a direct reference to the Black Goat of Qohor, which is a religion from Old Valyria. Considering Daemon’s respect of Valyrian tradition, it makes sense that he would see a Valyrian deity in his visions. It also suggests that the pantheons of Essos and Westeros are connected.
Where is my episode 8 explained video?
Could you please Un private episode 8 discussion wasn't able to watch live
I second this^^^^
I mean idk if the books ever say it, but it feel like just Valyrian heritage rather than just Targaryen would be needed to ride a dragon, cause it’s not like there weren’t other dragon lords in old Valyria.
Great vid, just subbed! Really appreciate the way you give the information without spoiling future points
Alt is so flabbergasted about episode 8 that he's taking double the time to make the video
Animal in GoT universe: just existing
Alt Shift X: Skinchanger/warg confirmed
The "theory" of Larys' skinchanging abilities came from Joe Magician. ASX just acknowledge it's existence.
No episode 8 explained? :(
I'd say Rhaenyra looked more vengeful. That's the dragon that killed her son, the brother who killed her son, and another brother who sits her throne in an act of treason! Emma did great capturing all that baggage into that final look, but I hope this time Rhaenyra actually follows it up with something badass (perhaps even reckless!).
He’s coming in clutch earlier and earlier 🔥 thanks for the weekly uploads 🤩
I hope the Livestream for the season finale goes back online for everyone. From all the RUclipsrs talking about HOTD, Alt Shift X is my favorite one
Hugh now has a hugh dragon hehe.
Just ask his wife
@@synegg9414 theres a reason why she didnt want him to leave kings landing👀
That was quite PUN-ishing to read
he should rename Vermithor to Mongous Wat
“In the Riverlands, Daemon spent four episodes Tripping Balls and Doing War Crimes….”
Holy Sh**… the dead pan delivery was too perfect. I had to press pause and just laugh my ass off for a few minutes. Whew!, @AltShiftX you got me crying real tears over here! Thank You for all the great content!
I always know its sunday when i see this uploaded, in all serious tho love the videos so high quality
Babe wake up. Alt shift x has a new video
I literally went to find my babe when this video came up
Old and lazy
Never mind, babe. Go back to sleep. Someone already made *that* joke again.
@@balabanasiretijust like you
I just want to thank you for uploading at the perfect time for EU, waking up on a sunday and the video is there
Addam's response makes alot of sense with the context that a) he's lowborn. He may have vague knowledge of the politics but staking your life on two people being friends who you hope are so is a big risk and b) he doesnt know how bastards will be treated. Look at how his father acts to him. For all he knows he may be burned on the spot. The dragon is his only grounding.
Uploaded on time like always. Thats Alt!! ❤
Anticipating the video release more eagerly than the next episode itself! 🎥🍿
If Daemon has another fever dream vision quest I'm going to throw myself into the narrow sea.
It’s from the potion he drank from alys she put hella LSD and psilocybin in it lol…that and he sleeps on a warewood bed.
Fr. I enjoyed him getting smacked around by ancient magic and his bad decisions in the past but it's getting tiresome now. For someone who was hyped as the renegade bad boy, he's not being doing a lot this season
@@shrineguard2778 Meh
@@shrineguard2778 Because he litertally does nothing in the book during his time at Harrenhall. So they´re using it to explore his character. Something the book doesnt do.
@@Alexander-kc8oq fr
I know it doesn't really make sense but I like to think that Silverwing was just like:
"Awww, aren't you a handsome little man! What's that little guy? You wanna ride me? Well, I guess it has been a while since I got out and stretched the old wings, and you seem like a sweet boy! Hop on!"
I love how every episode review inserts: "Maybe incest is bad" and it makes me laugh
16:22 “Targaryen incest is based”
So true
Dropped on Saturday thank the gods
It's Sunday here in Italy, so the joke still stands
"Thank the gods"

WHERE'S EP 8. I'M ITCHING
That Strangelove reference was absolute top-tier.
Daemon appears to be at the end of his K therapy
The entire fandom *OH THANK GOD*
Would've preferred Nettles over Luigi's Haunted Mansion 😔😔
My least favourite part has been daemons k-hole. It dragged on for way too long
The problem is the visions are working ONLY in the last episodes
They could make Daemon to act like stages of mourning
Anger fear denial negociation blablabla
OR EVEN BETTER waste the screentime in talking with the Riverlords every episode until the 6 or 5
@@funkyyukiedits I wanted to see Nettles the most of any character, she's such an interesting addition in the book.
Idk what you guys are on it was my favorite part of the season.
16:22 "Targaryen incest is based" - Alt Shift X 2024
Bro changed his mind quickly
*Alt* _"Maybe Incest is Bad"_ *Shift* *X*
I never expect the "maybe incest is bad" line and I laugh out loud each time.
The show really has to address Larrys incompetence at this point. I find it wild that such a high risk operation of procuring the dragonseeds went off flawlessly.
Maybe its not so muxh incompetence as Larys blindspot for the lowborn and obsession with power and proximity to the crown.
"Daemon spends 4 episodes tripping balls and doing war crimes" took me tf out 😂
There is no need to party Saturday night, Alt Shift X gots us right here
We need an alt swift x and glidus video with Quinn the GM and Fantasy Haven. It would be incredible. We need a full review of HOD with future predictions. Please man. Give me the dream collab. Maybe if I could be so lucky, a dream of spring prediction content too. Love your content man. Keep it up
Does anyone know what happened to the season finale livestream?
No, was looking for it and couldn't find it
Can we get Daemons face, and then "Tripping Balls & doing War Crimes" on a t-shirt 😂
I'm here to trip balls and do war crimes... And I just finished my shrooms.
Where is episode 8 explained? 😢
