Love your videos. Can’t imagine why you don’t have more subscribers. Folks with harbor freight lathes would love this info. Hang in your day is coming and word will get out.
I appreciate that! It takes time. I have only been a RUclips creator for about a year. Over 90% of youtube creators never get over 1000 subscribers. There is so much content out there (some way better than others) that it is easy to get lost in the masses. I am sure my subscribers will continue to grow as I put out more content.
Are you happy with having the complete frame? One of the painful things for my steady is that it has a gap to allow you put it over an item that is mounted in the chuck and tailstock, but it is really is to narrow a gap, for any stock greater than about 30mm in diameter I have to move the tail stock out of the way to fit or remove the steady. Being a baby lathe there is not a whole lot of room on the bed to do that easily. I am seriously thinking of changing it to a hinged setup.
I won't be using it that often so I don't think it will be that big of an issue. Several other have suggested that it should come open and I have been thinking about several waus to make the top come off. I may yet do that but at this point I am going to use it as is.
totaly unrelated to this video 😂😂 yes it needs to be on the positive wire so the power is filtered before it goes into the motor. putting it on the negative side would mean the power going into the motor was still dirty.

Unrelated question... Is there a difference in putting your motor controller choke on the positive vs negative? Thanks for the info
