One of Phil's most underrated, and legendary hits. Such a strong message, and lyrics, in such an iconic album. With so much emotion, and story this has to be one of his best tracks and a track that will literally get stuck in your head for years and years to come. They'll be nothing like Phil Collins for sure. Legendary. A song, that truly hits the heart. Reminds me of so many memories.
I grew up with this man's music, solo work and Genesis. I can honestly say Phil Collins has kept me from taking my own life with his words.

No doubt this song is simply addictive. I fell in love with it some years back during my service year. The words are so deep, the instrumentals reaches to the heart, I just can't stop listening to it. But then I realized that am dampened in my soul each time I listen to it. It makes me want to cry and at times I actually cry because of the words. I realised that the man was deeply expressing regrets for the things he wished he did but didn't do, or the things he wished he said but couldn't, and I made up my mind, though loved the song so much, to stop listening to it because I don't want to become subconsciously or unconsciously glued to what causes me to feel damped or depressed after listening to it. I pray I live all of my life to do the things I should do and say the things I need to say, and not regret later. I also pray for everyone here that we live to do all that God has laid in our hearts to do and not live a life of regret later that we begin to wish we could take it back and start all over.
If God have laid in your heart to help your parents, do so and don't postpone to regret later. If God has laid in your heart to have time for your kids, do so and don't regret later...

I’ve Always loved so many of Phil Collins ‘love songs & slow songs yet for some reason I am just now discovering how much I love this one-I must’ve not heard it enough in the past because as soon as I heard it in last few weeks I immediately loved it & Favorited it-
Maybe it wasn’t as popular or didn’t get as much radio play or came out during a year when I was only listening to my own homemade CDs or something?????I love it-I do believe it’s about a father & son but I can personally also relate this to my last relationship as well as relate it to my relationship with my now young adult son & I can see how it can be felt by anyone who is family or feels like family but feels they didn’t do enough or say enough in the past & now has regrets about it-For some we still have time so let this be a reminder to us to say what we have to say Now
