    @Bernard Zaii You would have to break alignment like I did in the video by stepping across. It's better to throw a technique to disguise it though in my opinion. Good luck :)

      I spar in karate but I use most of teakwondo kicks , I think this works as it is unexpected and if you throw a fait , they will be distracted and you can almost always hit them , don't know about your style like :) thanks for the tips :-)

    My ordinary tkd routine:
    -Search a video for a specific kick on youtube
    -Watch as many versions suggested by youtube
    -Finally "go home" to Ginger Ninja
    -Reduce speed at 0.25
    -Now I got it
    -Repeat

    Haven't heard it by that name but a back kick comes underneath and travels straight. It's not a spinning side kick so as long as it's taught like that then they are the same thing :)

  • @molotov2122
    @molotov2122 11 лет назад

    another cool vid.. imo side stepping is better because when done in a combo it has a better fluidity of movement.. for example .. when you do a left right left hook.. and then a back kick you use the inertia from the hook to help the kick.. what do you think?

    I sometimes let my kicking leg recoil all the way behind my standing leg, into side fightng stance. This might be incorrect technique, as I have no formal training but I end up in good balance. can you visualize this?

    Is a Back Kick different from a Turning Side Kick? Correct me if I'm wrong but this kick seems faster while the latter seems much more powerful and produces a pushing force. Similar to the difference between a front kick and a push kick.
    The chamber looks different too with the Back Kick having the knee down and the Turning Side Kick having the knee horizontal like a side kick.
    I'm confused whether these two kicks are the same kick performed differently or if they're two separate kicks.

    • @GingerNinjaTrickster
      @GingerNinjaTrickster  8 лет назад +4

      +James Lee They are two different kicks. I think I mention the spinning side kick in the video.

      +GingerNinjaTrickster Aaron. I stumbled upon this video with thanks to google. I never knew this would be so popular, I've met one of your sisters when I was a lot younger, training at the same place you and your father trained/own. Your father Gary taught my dad Daniel Price who was the oldest person to achieve 1st Dan black belt in Wales! I think your father will remember him well.
      I didn't follow my father's route of taekwondo, I did however and actively train as a nak muay in London.
      Excellent tutorial, I think I will incorporate this into my training.
      Thank you.
