@Bernard Zaii You would have to break alignment like I did in the video by stepping across. It's better to throw a technique to disguise it though in my opinion. Good luck :)
I spar in karate but I use most of teakwondo kicks , I think this works as it is unexpected and if you throw a fait , they will be distracted and you can almost always hit them , don't know about your style like :) thanks for the tips :-)
Punchline Gaming Cool and No problem :)

I'm a "yellow-green" belt (I don't how to say "ceinture jaune barre verte" in english lol). I try that wednesday, the guy charged so I stepped aside and threw that back...:D it was fabulous....the guy how to take a break! I didn't hurt him but it was quick, high and precise! Thank youuuu! I will try another one today :D
Devastating kick!! Ate one in sparring the other day damn near put me out! Any ideas for counters?I time my straight cross with there spin but it doesn't always work of course
1:17-1:23
That was always my biggest problem, Thank you GNT. Your info is legit. What part of the U.K you from btw?
Been thinking of surprising my opponent on my next sparring session with a spin back kick since last time they've beaten the crap out of me :) , thank's for the video it did cleared up some important points for me. Cheers master Ginger
BadBit Dino Cool and i'm gald it did :)
THX. Great explanation. Great video. Could you do one on the different combinations leading into the spinning back kick?
No problem. I'm glad you enjoyed it and maybe in the future :)
Awesome awesome awesome tutorial :) You really know how to explain things. Not that I'm pressuring you but when do you think you'll be able to make a tutorial for the Jump Spin Back Kick? Whenever I try I can't seem to get it right. I can't jump high enough and kick at the same time.
using the step across method with my right leg forward is working really well for me thanks. with my left foot forward however i'm having better success using the second method =)
***** I'm glad you are finding a way to improve both sides and i'm glad the various methods I demonstrated helped :)
very useful
nguyen lan I'm glad you thought so :)
My ordinary tkd routine:
-Search a video for a specific kick on youtube
-Watch as many versions suggested by youtube
-Finally "go home" to Ginger Ninja
-Reduce speed at 0.25
-Now I got it
-Repeat
Haven't heard it by that name but a back kick comes underneath and travels straight. It's not a spinning side kick so as long as it's taught like that then they are the same thing :)
another cool vid.. imo side stepping is better because when done in a combo it has a better fluidity of movement.. for example .. when you do a left right left hook.. and then a back kick you use the inertia from the hook to help the kick.. what do you think?
Hi Thank you very much for your video. The instructions are clear. But I always have a question. If I throw my body in to generate power, I always lose my balance. Could you tell me how to solve that? Thanks
Thanks
No problem and cool :)
hey ginger nuts, thank you for the tutorial. Advice on throwing a headpunch in wtf taekwondo, do the refs call a foul or will i confuse my opponent?
nice spinning side kick
+x3C40x Thank you :)
Question, will you do the patterns too? I have a little problem with thiss haha great vid my friend
I find that its difficult to use combos before the technique because of the range needed. its not that clear in the video, but at what stage do you step back to throw the kick at close range? Thanks in advance :)
power kick.👍👍👍
+tan yong :)
Freaking sick kicks dude thanks
larry minnifield I appreciate you saying that. Thank you :)
Yes sir much respect to you and thanks for sharing free information with us
larry minnifield No problem :)
I have trouble keeping balance after the kick is performed and following up with other techniques. Any tips?
Is the spinning back kick the more powerful, or the side kick-skipping side kick? Which one do you recommend in a street fight? I am a red belt in ITF taekwondo btw.
No, I'm from Newport, South Wales :)
This is the main reason why people turn and do the spin side kick instead. Practice back leg raises, flexibility, etc.
I sometimes let my kicking leg recoil all the way behind my standing leg, into side fightng stance. This might be incorrect technique, as I have no formal training but I end up in good balance. can you visualize this?
Dang!! you fast bro. How long did you take get this good from scratch?
cheers
+BliBlaBloo :)
I am a red belt in Taekwondo and I'm pretty close to black belt, but I'm really worried because I am not as good as I should be at sparring. X<
Could you possibly post a few videos to help us with sparring techniques or combos?
Thank you for the tutorials!!!
Is a Back Kick different from a Turning Side Kick? Correct me if I'm wrong but this kick seems faster while the latter seems much more powerful and produces a pushing force. Similar to the difference between a front kick and a push kick.
The chamber looks different too with the Back Kick having the knee down and the Turning Side Kick having the knee horizontal like a side kick.
I'm confused whether these two kicks are the same kick performed differently or if they're two separate kicks.
+James Lee They are two different kicks. I think I mention the spinning side kick in the video.
+GingerNinjaTrickster Aaron. I stumbled upon this video with thanks to google. I never knew this would be so popular, I've met one of your sisters when I was a lot younger, training at the same place you and your father trained/own. Your father Gary taught my dad Daniel Price who was the oldest person to achieve 1st Dan black belt in Wales! I think your father will remember him well.
I didn't follow my father's route of taekwondo, I did however and actively train as a nak muay in London.
Excellent tutorial, I think I will incorporate this into my training.
Thank you.
Luke Price Cool. I will mention that to him and good luck with your training :)
Favorite backkick sidekick roundhouse kick frontkick
My fovorite hook kick
The **TSSSH** sound he makes is actually his leg breaking the sound barrier
how do you do taewkondo without hurting your leg? or without gettting your leg caught?
Hey Bro!
