  • Statement: It is vital to keep things in their proper perspective in the Church.
If you will give me a listening ear, I would like to share how important the Chief Corner Stone is.
    • the main purpose of the cornerstone.
    • In relation to architecture, a cornerstone is traditionally the first stone laid for a structure, with all other stones laid in reference.
    • It is laid at one corner of that building or another and it sets the foundation and the geographical location of that building.
    • In other words, when the builder lays the brick, it is at the corner of that foundation and the rest of the bricks follow.
    • When we look around, we see that cornerstones (houses, restaurants, place of businesses) have been around for ages, in some shape or form.
So, the question that may comes to mind is:
Why is Jesus considered the Chief cornerstone in the Bible?
    • Primarily, the cornerstone is a visible on which the rest of the building relied for strength and stability.
    • Ok, let me break it down: when we accept Christ as Savior, that is him becoming the Chief Corner Stone in our lives,
o His Spirit resides in this building; the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead resides in you; when you confess and believe!
    • 1 Corinthians 12:13 puts it like this:
13 For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed-united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life].
    • So. As a believer, Jesus Christ, is and must be our visible Cornerstone, because he is our support in all things. (He is our everything).
    • And when people are in our presence, meaning those who are in our domain, should see Christ in everything we do. Amen!
The Scripture Reference this morning: 1 Peter 2:4-8 says:
