For a while, I've been imagining what it would be like if Hasbro had their own theme park: - I could picture a Transformers rollercoaster where the trains are themed after specific characters' vehicle modes, and the queue has videos where Optimus Prime talks to you or something. - Walkaround My Little Pony characters, played by two people each in a pantomime horse costume.
I could see astrotrain being cool fur the visuals alone Although they would probably need to reach into the Japan exclusives there since they had the trainbots a team of combiners who act as Japan’s protectors and high speed transport service
Gonna be honest, this is my favourite Optimus. There's something really cool about this dude that the others can't compare, besides his design in the first 3.
These movies excited me as a kid/teenager. Now as an adult... I mean, I could probably rewatch the first movie and enjoy myself, but it'd probably be a mix of nostalgia and "well it's not as bad as the later movies".
One thing I love about the Transformers wiki is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously and all the captions for the pictures on it are written humorously and the trivia is often written tongue in cheek. You joke about the pathos put into the death of a toy in the 80s film, but keep in mind said death traumatised so many kids that Hasbro had to quickly rewrite the death of a character in the GI Joe movie into the character getting put into a coma instead of dying because they were scared they’d traumatise the kids all over again when they saw that film. Given all the questionable actions Bayformer Optimus does in those films, I can only assume Peter Cullen was contractually obliged to keep appearing in them given that when the guys behind Robot Chicken asked him if he’d reprise the part of Optimus for a skit he turned them down because of how much respect he has for the character. Overall, I think Bayformers falls far short of the original cartoon; I have zero interest in 80s hair metal music but I think The Touch is one of the best pieces of music in all Transformers. Especially when it’s combined with Optimus’ rampage through the Decepticon army on his way to Megatron (side note, what makes it even more epic is iirc every single Deceptacon you see Optimus take out in that scene is on the Decepticon casualty list for that battle and I think makes up something like 50-75% of said list). You really should do more Transformer stuff, but focus on all the really dumb shit from the 80s like how Optimus’ brain fits on a single floppy disc. 😜
3:20 That movie would have been better if they stuck with already established Transformers lore. There's already an artifact that can create Cybermatter (or whatever they call it) in The Key to Vector Sigma. Instead of some bullshit asspull involving the Quintessons, they could have went with the simpler plot "The Dynobots left Cybertron with the Key to protect it from Shockwave. Shockwave catches up to them, spaceship combat ensues, and they both crash on prehistoric Earth and go into stasis lock for millions of years." Then instead of that weak pansyass CEO of KSI, they could have had G.B. Blackrock from the G1 comics. Then again when I think of Blackrock, I picture Robert Downy Jr's portrayal of Tony Stark and that wouldn't be possible. They should then have made Shockwave the Big Bad like they hinted he was supposed to be, or have Shockwave use the Key to revive Megatron as Galvatron just like they used the Matrix to revive Prime in RotF. It would have been stupid, but it would have been the kind of stupid that makes sense and would have hit everyone's nostalgia buttons.
I drink and smoke with my best friends and we cheer when autobots win every time🤣🤣🤣 might not be amazing, but holy fuck is it ever entertaining. I prefer Shia, but Marky mark ain't horrible. RIP my boy Jazz gone too soon
I've had the fortune of not watching any Bay Transformers movies past Revenge of the Fallen. 15 year old loved the first one... But even 15 year old me was hit with a physical sensation of disgust and disappointment after watching the second one.
I think they addressed how easily Optimus could defeat Megatron. If both were on equal ground in one of the animated series. With Optimus throttling Megatron and then beating the ever-living crap out of him. Until Megatron submitting to defeat.
I think that Bay is NOT racist, he's just using alot of stereotypes, doesn't matter who character is. Look at Sam, his parents, Lennox, Mikaela they are walking stereotypes.
Of course he's unstoppable in hand-to-hand combat, he hits like a truck.
That too, but I always figured he was drawing upon the collective combat experience of all the Primes that came before him through the Matrix.

After the Japanese disinterest hasbro contacted marvel comic to give these robots personalities that children would like and associated with, Bob budiansky was given this task and created individual character bios to go with these characters and a comic was created using these characters plus hasbro originals like a new black and purple jet called skywarp
On top of those lines sone other characters from competing Japanese companies were added such as toyco’s “4 changeable Astro magnum” to become shockwave and the macross series’s jetfire
Although there were some design differences based on prototypes and terrible photocopying (megatron originally had a black helmet, soundwave at one point had a mouth {later removed on digital distributions} the combaticons looked nothing like their toys and galvatron used earlier colour schemes rather than the iconic purple)
During the early days of the comic hasbro saw quite a success with the project so commissars marvel with a transformers TV show pilot called “more than meets the eyes” as you can tell this was very popular but even before release hasbro commissioned a full 13 episode series that turned into transformers G1
Although it wasn’t always smooth sailing you remember jetfire well that had some legal issues
You see macross was an anime series produced by bandi and the western rights to the series and characters was bought by harmony gold and they were a tad sue happy mix this with takara not wanting to advertise a rival product meant his design was changed and name changed to skyfire
Now your probably wondering how shockwave got through unscathed if takara didn’t want to advertise rivals that’s because in the cartoon at least he was forced to stay on cybertron (outside if the near frequent animation errors) so was shunted to the background despite being so prominent to the comics be over through megatron about 6 issues in since the writers had difficulty making a gun alt mode work without a universal flying rule or mass shifting
Well anyway one last piece of interesting trivia about the cartoon is that it caused a very long running debate over the naming schemes for consettecons being the colourschemes of rumble and frenzy due to a misunderstanding in the notes
In the comics and toys frenzy is blue and rumble is red but someone on the staff must have misinterpreted a note and swapped the names and since the cartoon was really popular it spawned the infamous firrib vs fibrir (I’m sure you can get the acronym based on the context)
I have a lot more random bullshit I can tell you if you want but this is probably long enough
just so you know, this was fun, and you're awesome
Once a wise and pro peace robot say: "GIVE ME YOUR FACE AAAAAAARRRRGH *rips his brother face in half*"
Even though I grew up watching the Bayformers, I got to say this was a great wiki weekend video. Thanks guys!
He follows the Thanos mentality of go for the head
I’ll be 100% honest. These guys are the reason I played Devistation. Best decision ever.
I love it when Optimus executes Spock.
"Give me your face!"
-Bay!verse Optimus Prime, The Ansem Retort
I love this channel hope it goes on forever
Optimus was my generations John Wayne, noble, fearless, selfless, and larger than life. Then bay completely ruined his character.
His whole thing was be strong enough to be kind but Micheal bay said screw that and make him insane
Our honorable and extremely moral leader, Optimus Prime the Face Ripper...
For a while, I've been imagining what it would be like if Hasbro had their own theme park:
- I could picture a Transformers rollercoaster where the trains are themed after specific characters' vehicle modes, and the queue has videos where Optimus Prime talks to you or something.
- Walkaround My Little Pony characters, played by two people each in a pantomime horse costume.
I could see astrotrain being cool fur the visuals alone
Although they would probably need to reach into the Japan exclusives there since they had the trainbots a team of combiners who act as Japan’s protectors and high speed transport service
Optimus likes to go for the head, unlike Batman apparently.
Optimus Prime: Always goes for the head
Thor: *👁 👄 👁 I told you you’d die for that*
Expecting a cinematic masterpiece from giant robots that turn into cars is crazy to me
"Now stop asking about this series! We're done! We're done!"
Narrator: They were, in fact, not done.
Not even joking, Optimus was a camping stove before a truck. My father owns an 'Optimus Primus' same color scheme and all!
Gonna be honest, this is my favourite Optimus. There's something really cool about this dude that the others can't compare, besides his design in the first 3.
Also glad to see I'm not the only one who really doesn't like these movies despite loving transformers
GIVE ME YOUR FACE. Is probably my favourite bayformers quote.
These movies excited me as a kid/teenager. Now as an adult... I mean, I could probably rewatch the first movie and enjoy myself, but it'd probably be a mix of nostalgia and "well it's not as bad as the later movies".
thanos : i am inevitable
optimus prime: i am optimus prime
*goes for the head*
optimus prime : i rise you fall
Or why hasbro though dark awakening was a good idea especially with that original ending
he's wise enough to always go for the head...but have you covered Transformers: Beastwars?
3:20 That movie would have been better if they stuck with already established Transformers lore.
There's already an artifact that can create Cybermatter (or whatever they call it) in The Key to Vector Sigma.
Instead of some bullshit asspull involving the Quintessons, they could have went with the simpler plot "The Dynobots left Cybertron with the Key to protect it from Shockwave. Shockwave catches up to them, spaceship combat ensues, and they both crash on prehistoric Earth and go into stasis lock for millions of years."
Then instead of that weak pansyass CEO of KSI, they could have had G.B.
It would have been stupid, but it would have been the kind of stupid that makes sense and would have hit everyone's nostalgia buttons.
there's a major addition to the face count missing. in the 5th one, he cuts off all 5 of the infernicon's heads at once
The Avengers should have sent Optimus Prime to kill Thanos in Infinity War
I drink and smoke with my best friends and we cheer when autobots win every time🤣🤣🤣 might not be amazing, but holy fuck is it ever entertaining. I prefer Shia, but Marky mark ain't horrible. RIP my boy Jazz gone too soon
I like how they picked the 2007 legends figures to represent the toy line
I've had the fortune of not watching any Bay Transformers movies past Revenge of the Fallen.
15 year old loved the first one... But even 15 year old me was hit with a physical sensation of disgust and disappointment after watching the second one.
The third one is worth a watch but yeah don't watch the rest
My favorite movie Optimus quote is “Give me your face!”
‘Megantron, be gone’ is a good quote
I think they addressed how easily Optimus could defeat Megatron. If both were on equal ground in one of the animated series. With Optimus throttling Megatron and then beating the ever-living crap out of him. Until Megatron submitting to defeat.
I need an animation where Optimus takes the entire Decepticon army because he totally could. Didn't he punch Megatron into the moon in one episode?
Peter Cullen was also the voice of Venger from Dungeons & Dragons cartoon series. Frank Welker is more versatile as far as voice acting goes.
Im surprised the wiki doesn't mention the few lines Optimus has as a hologram in the Bumblebee movie
Of course Transformers Devastation will be talked about. Anytime Transformers is mentioned, Devastation is talked about!
i stg as you read "this truck has a personality" a fucking mack truck drove by on the street
Best quote, I'll take you all on!
You should try and open a beer with a usb
I think that Bay is NOT racist, he's just using alot of stereotypes, doesn't matter who character is. Look at Sam, his parents, Lennox, Mikaela they are walking stereotypes.
Actually, if I remember, Optimus (previously named Orion Pax) was either a clerk or scholar working in Macon, not a scientist.
"Why do the Decepticons always have the good shit"
Dang, you guys make that Transformers game look desirable!
