I’ve always had this season’s biggest trending colors, burgundy and khaki-green*, in my wardrobe, they are two of my basic colors, trending or not. Browns, too, but I literally couldn’t find a single garment in brown for almost twenty years, from about 2000 to 2020, I was trying to find a top/sweater to work with my brown-striped, cream-knit, wool mini skirt. I think browns were worn so much in the 90s that designers just dropped them for ages, only cognac-brown/tan leather accessories were available. I love those, too, but for larger clothing pieces, I prefer the cooler-toned, dark browns we’re seeing now. They suit my cool-undertoned complexion better. Almost any dark green is also trending now, including forest and “emerald” versions (emerald is any interesting name for the dark green it’s associated with, real emeralds are generally more grassy-green than this color). Deep, cool-toned reds, not quite burgundies, are also around. Many blues, too, but I don’t remember any time when blues were ever “out”. * Khaki is the more gray, cooler-toned version, olive - also trending is the warmer-toned, more yellowish version, great for those with warm-undertoned coloring. I also love sage green, the lighter version of khaki-green, and hope to see more of it in the spring. These near-neutral grayish-greens work well with so many other colors.
