Thank you for putting chapters - I really wish the main Blender podcast did that for theirs

Blender's position on privacy is spot on. Analytics is a slippery slope. Especially as an organization grows (as Blender is doing), what is considered harmless versus devious can shift dramatically. Pablo is on point with (while not ruling it out) being judicious and even overly-cautious when it comes to tracking. It's surprising how quickly things can turn evil.

Yeah it made me love blender more see how much they respect they user and dont wanna force anything on users not even a simple version update and wanna be transparent about everything.

Man, I need to watch more of Pablo. I'm in a similar boat - tons of full-stack dev work, but also loving to do Blender art whenever I can.

Honestly I like how they handled when Andrew brought up people who make adult content. It's nice to see that the foundation is not too put off by it, or at least knows that it exists and doesn't try to seize it.

Yes, Blender has provided a good income for me creating 3D Porn. And I feel comfortable saying that because I've been in the industry sense 1997 so it's not that big of a secret or big deal. Maybe other's might not want to mention it and that's totally understandable. And another bit of advice for anyone reading this "If you want to master Blender start making 3D porn videos" and I'm talking fully animated videos that you could post on a site and people would watch. This will take you through EVERY aspect that Blender has to offer. I'm talking modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, rigging, animation, compositing, etc. You name it, if it's in Blender you'll end up touching it.

So, Andrew Price is a professional actor. In Hollywood, one's name is serious business. I imagine that suggesting a domain takeover of his professional name are what we in the states call 'fighting words.'

Maybe it’s a good idea to have model type specific “highlight” most useful tabs/modifiers etc , like for example: Blender asks what do you want to design? And we choose “Hard Surface” then Blender organises its interface perfectly for such case. Blender is so complex and filled with options so we might not discover best ways to do something. Think of it like Rhinoceros(complex Ui) Vs Moi3D(specialised UI) 😊

That's basically the official proof that Blender will never catch Houdini 😂

As a sound engineer, please please, drop these stupid condenser mics on stands and just get lav mics. They sound way better and where on TV do you see people with a huge microphone covering their face?

I tell you why studios will not invest in Blender even if they did in Maya. Because they already did invested in Maya. And they have something that works. No point in doing it again.

If something is clearly better and will greatly improve your Production you invest into that.

@@ProjectAtlasmodling Investment is time which is money and they dont want to change that. Understandable. Ever worked in one of these studios? They dont have bearly time to handle the projects, when should they learn and integrate blender? lol Only thing that can do that is time when the old people are too old and gone and all new artists learned blender. But even then the old people are forcing the new people to scrap blender and use maya etc. ( not 100% ofc)

@@simonzhang3D there is more our there than Disney, Hollywood and AAA studios.
When a promising tech or way of doing things comes out you pay attention to it. It's easier on a company to have an invitation devision than to suddenly need to incorporate a tool to make do something which is way more costly.
Most big studios are having their concept artist learn blender because it's a cheep place to experiment. They allow modelers to is blender because a mesh is a mesh.

I would be very interested in helping to develop, like a statistic addon, that people can download and turn on to help contribute stats. If either of you read this let me me know. I'm also registered on the blender developer website and I track a few things on there so you can contact me their too with same username as here.
