Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village! Join us for a room and resort tour at the incredible Kidani Village. Disney vacations and staycations are an escape from everyday life for our family. We absolutely love staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge resorts for a "walk on the wild side" from time to time. Kidani Village is billed as a high-end African-safari-themed resort where exotic animals roam on the savanna. This resort is really as great as it sounds!
We share a tour of a 1 bedroom villa with savanna view. The African inspired decor is noted throughout the villa from the art pieces to the furniture. The main living space features a sleeper sofa and chair. There is a full kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. A sizeable table as well as two bar stools offer ample space for in room dining. Additional amenities include a washer and dryer. There are two bathrooms in the villa as well. The primary bedroom features a king sized bed as well as storage dresser and a desk for workspace. The primary bathroom has a soaking jetted tub and large glass walk in shower. The highlight of the villa is the balcony overlooking the savanna. We could spend hours sitting outside soaking in the views and animal watching both day and night. We spotted zebras, giraffe, a variety of birds, Ankole cattle and more!
Kidani Village is smaller in scale and size when compared with her sister resort at Jambo House. The lobby is warm and inviting and there are numerous African artifacts all around. The large glass windows overlooking the savanna let in bright light and the tall ceilings draw the eyes upward to the decor. The check in desk is off to the left while the resort's gift shop, Johari Treasures, is on the right. Swahili for "gem", Johari has both authentic African items as well as Disney parks merchandise and a selection of food items. Seating is located both on the main floor and ground floor providing overlook of the savanna. There is a firepit outdoors as well, perfect for s'mores at the end of a long Disney day. Depending on the time there are Cast Members out in the lobby with some educational experiences for the kids. Be sure to check the listing of activities during your stay. One of our very favorite Disney restaurants is located at Kidani- Sanaa. We highly recommend dining at Sanaa as the food is delicious. Be sure to try the bread service!
Just a short walk from the lobby is the resort pool, the Samawati Springs Pool. While the weather did not cooperate during our stay for a swim, we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the pool space. A hot tub is tucked away near the entrance and the pool itself has a waterslide. Off to the side is a large splash area for the little ones to enjoy. There is an additional hot tub toward the rear of the pool area with handicap access. A pool bar with both food and drink offerings available and hours vary by season. The Survival of the Fittest (we love the name!) Fitness Center is just outside the pool entrance and is open 24/7 for guests to enjoy.
Guests staying at either Animal Kingdom property can visit both Kidani and Jambo house to enjoy offerings at each resort. We appreciate this feature and have bounced back and forth a time or two to either grab some quick service items or even to dine at Boma.
We certainly hope you enjoyed the vlog as we enjoyed sharing our stay with you! Onward to our next adventure!
