The wheat harvest video at Waldersey Farms featuring the John Deere X9 is truly impressive! The combination of modern technology and efficient harvesting processes showcases the maximum potential in agriculture
You don't get much flatter than that. Huge sympathy for the combine driver. The overhead drone shot shows that quite a bit is going under the knife. Very difficult to get it all.
Nice to see a Holmer Terra Variant on carting duty, change of pace from the slurry spreading they ususally seem to be used for. Also dont envy the combine driver, thats not gonna be a fun time with how flat that crops laying down.
It's peat soil so no rocks, though some fen soils have "bog oak". 12 yrs ago a 44 foot, 5000 yr old tree was found at Methwold Hythe, near Downham Market, UK, hitting one of those with a large piece of agricultural machinery could be devastating!
Said.. Low land so probably not too bad for rooks... Get peat in the machine if not careful but if ya had to... in wheat that's one the best crops for picking up a flat lodged crop..
A normal tractor would drive over a part of the soil twice. First the front wheel drives over it, then the rear wheel does the same. With crab steering, only one wheel drives over it. Since the other wheel following is more to the side on it's own part of the soil.
Interesting S.P. grain cart with crab steering and all! The X9 picks the crop up very nice from the ground!

Even more sympathy for the farmer. The $/t downgrade due to loss of quality would be devastating
Holmer Simpson 😂 😂 😂 every big farm should have one 🤠
What a superb piece of kit god bless our farmers
Seeing rows of wheat fall neatly under the cutting blades of the John Deere machine is truly pleasing to the eye.

They’re completely in the hands of whoever rolled that field!
Doubt anyone did roll that field.
This video is a must-have in my favorites list!
Very good video ❤
Everyone excited about the combine,,,,dime a dozen,,,,sorry common. Never seen an SP grain cart before, cool 😎
The countryside is the perfect place for harvesting.
Very engaging! I could watch this topic all day
Great job the Deere’s making , not a fan of, but impressive
Really great
Nice set up
Bet there been some good pigeon shooting on flat stuff there ❤❤😂
Like a big 🦀
And that’s why you pick rocks!
Is that spring wheat this year s crop? Excellent video
With the wheat lying flat there doesnt seem to be much loss. Also with all that wheat dust is there a danger of dust explosion of sorts?
I wondered about the danger of a dust explosion too awful dusty that wheat
The loss is in the loss of weight/bushell and lost protein content. Farmer probably lost half the value of his crop and income for the year
@@garethifan1034explosions only occur in confined spaces. Not as dusty as sorghum or barley
Nice!!
I'd guess that's a pretty expensive self propelled buggy.
How does the wheat grade after being flat like that? Sprouted?
Usually these Holmers are used to apply slurry and I'd guess, this will be used for that purpose aswell.
Was the field being combined 1 way
Why the rear auger on that holmer? Seems like it would make for terrible visibility.
Cameras
@@davidpaul6970 cameras are great and all but they’re no substitute for being able to properly see
To much rain or to much fert
Vast fields that can only be harvested by modern machinery
…. or by lots of old machinary and many more farm staff

Hope there aren't any rocks. Wow.

whats the idear of crabing,
Spreads compaction

Doesn’t the tractor driving over the stubble at the end defeat the whole object of having a low ground pressure, crab-steering chaser bin 🤷🏻♂️
I mean it’s just the ends by the entrance, not the whole field.
Why is he using crab steer? It doesn't seem necessary
Ever heard of soil compaction?
