- MyHeritage finally updated its Ethnicity Estmate after years, and suddenly it turned into the most accurate one on the market! I am more than surprised! It's amazing!
The update is very good especially for Europeans. I haven't seen many non-European results yet but such a big improvement by MyHeritage.
Defo! For Europeans it got so much better
How can we check new ethnic groups? Is there a list of them and music themes?
They have an ethnic group for Georgia, Tunisia, Peninsular Arab, Iraqi, & Syrian on myheritage from the videos I have seen🧍🏾
not good for me I'm a mixed African American. The old results I was 37.6 Nigerian and 59% African now I'm some how 84% lol
@@johnbhughes3419 Yes agree now that I've seen some African American and South American results. A big improvement for Europeans especially for mono people but for mixed people now so great. I do believe they are on the right track though and this is a good start. Before they were very inaccurate and giving people trace regions that didn't make sense.

I’m half Pontic Greek and Croatian, I had my west Asian and middle eastern dna completely removed and replaced with Greek and same with my Balkan dna. Now it’s mostly greek, German, English, and Italian? I’m quite disappointed.
Whaaatt i think it should’ve stayed westasian for the pontic part

why hasnt my myheritage updated, i cant see any of the new ethnicity such as georgia, german or danish or any new in general?

Mines the almost exactly the same except for the regional groups that have now disappeared.
It was not more accurate, just more restricted to the genetic mix of the most recent group.
In my case, the update was unsatisfactory, before it gave many more answers.
The update is crap!
They put a good part of my Nordic, Semitic, Mediterranean and even BALTIC (!) genes as being "Portuguese". Ok, Portuguese have something Germanic (Gothic), Arabic, Jewish, etc. But Baltic?! Before, if I'm not mistaken, not even 4% of Portuguese people had Baltic DNA and I had 12%, that is, probably a Baltic great-grandfather.
Now I prefer GEDmatch's Eurogenes K15 even more.
You can't just choose which results you want

There is no such thing as 100% Portuguese in Brazil.
I'm really different from other white Brazilians.
Heterogeneity is both genetic and phenotypic. So yes, I can choose the best one, which gives me more explanations.
I imagine that only nationalists, who want to be 100% something (especially in conflict-ridden regions of the world) are happy with this garbage.

I totally agree. I was so angry when I saw my new results. They make absolutely no sense. They are at odds with my original (accurate) results . They are also at odds with my LivingDNA results that I uploaded to them in the first place. I instantly restored my old results. You should do the same.

Fortunately the old results were there. They are a little hidden, they are in the map settings.
I’m Brazilian and for me this update is not so good.
Brazilians, tipically, have a lot of ethnicities.
Before the update, I had eight ethnicities. Now, I have only two, with 98,9% of portuguese ethnicity.
My Italian ethnicity, that I know that I have, disappeared.
I got the same, even more weird because I was predominantly Balkan, over 40% and now they just took it away completely 🤷♂️

Cara, lamento muito soar "lacrador", mas já imagino alguns portugueses que (não sem motivo, é verdade) odeiam brasileiros, mas são muito incoerentes na internet, agora se sentiram mais "portugueses" por não terem mais "norte da África" acusando o pezinho no magrebe que eles têm haha
Acho que as pessoas devem preferir a verdade. E elas honram mais os antepassados sabendo a verdade.
Eu acredito em você. Minha recomendação é jogar no GEDmatch, minha calculadora preferida é a Eurogenes K15.
Há até um site que gera um mapa bacaninha, mas não me lembro de cabeça qual. Se quiser, procuro aqui.

Hope they'll have more changes. As a Hungarian they took away Balkan and North-West-European, now I just have East-European result.

I just checked and my results still didnt update... they are the same as before. But the update will be free and for everybody, right?
It will be free, but I think they stopped updating for now, since for mixed people the results have not been as accurate, so they will fix it and then continue

Oh shit, I am so sorry to hear that, Ive heard Turkish results got strongly improved and split into multiple new ethnicities. Maybe you can somehow get it back.
Ohh, the Match, hmm I might be biased, but I think Austria will win, your team is good, but recently we won 6:1 against you, and your performances have been okayish since then. But everything can happen, we will see haha

I had around 25 west eu 50 east eu 17 italian 4 scottish irish welsh and around 4 west asian now i am 15 balkan 85 east eu
my mom was 50 balkan and 20 scandinavian 4-4 baltic and italian 22 east eu now she is 4 germanic and 96 east eu the genetic groups did not improve in anything either i hope they do something about it
The new update sucks. The only company that’s halfway accurate is 23andme

@@loudluck2360 if you have ancestors from Central & Northern Europe it heavily shifts to the north. ISOGG pointed this out with Ancestry DNA and myheritage meaning that the results can skew heavily Northern or Central European.
@@loudluck2360 use your matches instead. Ethnicity results are never 100% accurate.
They got mine right i think. They changed my 14.6 percent english to 8.9 percent scottish/welsh, which is around the same as my ancestry results. Im mostly irish so that right aswell.
Are you by any chance from Eastern Germany? Might explain the Eastern European heritage.
No, mostly from Austria :) But most germans do get some tiny parts of slavic, except for western and northern germans.
East Germans often get a lot more slavic, sometimes over 60%

Originally from, I think four and a half years ago.(2019-2020) I manage around 15 Tests and so far only this oldest one (my main one) has been updated!

Was hast du für genetische Gruppen? Bin Wolgadeutscher und hatte fast die gleichen Ergebnisse wie du. 84% Germane, 12.5% Osteuropäer und 3.5% Norditaliener

Mine update was more African and a lot European was gone.
Orginally I had north west European my biggest chunk and then a bit of English, Scottish or Welsh, Scandinavian, and lberian and now I don’t understand the new update since it’s changed to 94% English and 4% French my family has done different ones and they came back as my ig results the English doesn’t make sense where’s the rest gone
