Tayshaun Prince: The Prince of the Palace | Forgotten Player Profiles

- Tayshaun Prince was the quiet and consistent member of the 2000s Detroit Pistons teams who made 6 straight Eastern Conference Finals appearances. Although Tayshaun wasn't flashy, he was the perfect fit for one of the greatest defensive teams the league has ever seen. Prince didn't do anything spectacularly, but he did everything well and anything that was asked of him. Unfortunately, when talking about those Detroit teams and that era in general, Prince's name is often left out. My goal is to shine light on a forgotten NBA player, the one they called "Tay", Tayshaun Durell Prince.

The "Prince of the Palace". The Palace of Auburn Hills, which was built for the Bad Boy Pistons, was just torn down recently, but that's where we won all our championships. Much love for Tayshaun as a die-hard Pistons fan. Work ethic, attitude, confidence, all top notch. Even when he was cold offensively, he was always 100% on defense. He regularly guarded the best player on any given team. For instance, if we played the Lakers, Tayshaun would guard Kobe. He may not end up in the hall of fame, but he was a massive part of that elite Pistons squad. Great player, plus his wingspan is 7'3. That block he had on Reggie Miller in game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals 2004 is seared into my brain as one of the greatest plays ever. We won the championship that year.
Didn’t realize his arms were that long that’s wild
I was born 1990 and i was 12 when i first saw Prince play in the nba and hes wasn't exciting to me but now i understand why now.....thanks Prince really was a baller, he just played his role so he can win a chip so he's good in my book
Hopefully, this video is redone to fix the audio. Other than that, I enjoy all your videos.
Definitely a guy i think could play in today's game. Not going to lie wasn't mich of a fan during the actual Pistons run to the championship and even them making 6 consecutive Eastern Conference Finals but really appreciate the career he had and how well the team did during their run.
Great video audio kinda distorted though
Don't know why the Pistons think they can retire Billups, RIP, and Big Ben jerseys without doing the same for Tayshaun and Sheed.
Damn that is insane
R.i.p. Flip Saunders!
I've watched your series so far and you're doing amazing, however I can't hear this one
I ❤ this guy's content. He just sounds scared.
He help my Detroit pistons win a championship I haven't forgotten about him
I was at the game where the dude took off his prince jersey waiting for him to come out. I was thinking the same thing as he was! We got smoked that game by brandon jennings and the bucks
Tayshaun Prince Is A Good Player And Tayshaun Prince Is My Favorite Basketball Player He's My Hero And He's Better Than Eric Williams.
Yeoooo redo this one playa
That 02 logo for the pistons is their best logo 🔥✨
i have watched many of your vids, almost through all......ill sub, but binge watching has few left.........lol
Your audio is low or you just need to speak up
Yeah this was my first vid ever and I didn't have a mic yet so I recorded it on my ps5 headset. The rest of my vids have better audio
@@ForgottenPlayerProfiles Re upload this with better audio
Plz give ty ty his honorable flowers da right way but thx 4 da video
@@ForgottenPlayerProfilesThis is the first video. But man how much you have grown with content. Great channel.
That pistons was so strong team 2003-2008 prince great player
you know, you have better presentation now, we wont mind you doing your first videos again.
I'm confident that Prince would have scored 25+ ppg on a team as the number one option. On the Pistons he didn't have to and fit his role PERFECTLY
Forgotten Freshness
I still can't believe how Tayshaun shutdown Kobe in the 2004 finals. Kobe shot 37% and 27% from three.
Gotta fix the Audio and reupload
Estraño esos días donde estaban los 5 mejores , entre ellos obviamente Prince
Terrible audio.
He’s still one of the greatest SF I’ve ever seen… they love to give credit to Lebron for the “chase down block” but he was doing that yearsssss before him! Great defensive player and could shoot a ball & hit FT’s. The Piston team was great to watch, it sucks Ben ruined the whole team by choosing money instead of being part of something? He also ruined his own career and was subpar with the Bulls
Please redo video, Sound quality is horrible. ilI understand it one of your first videos but since youtube lacks any other videos on tay
Joe Johnson josh smith did sum numbers and don’t get talked about
Do Steve Blake!
Hes like a poor man Andrei Kirilenko ✌
Pretty sure Prince had better career stats wise until he left Detroit
@@astrowerm nope I still go with AK-47, Prince was never a star, just mixed with a championship Calibre team.
@michaelantonio6643 he would been if they let 5 starters be Allstars that year, and the fact he put them numbers up with a team full of Allstars is that much more impressive imo, but to each is own
@@michaelantonio6643man give me either one. We’re winning either way. Princes block in the playoffs on Reggie gives him the nod for me I guess.
@@KB8Killa can't deny his block on Reggie bro which is one of the greatest blocks ever 👍
This is the worst audio of all your videos. Disrespect to the Prince family. I'm from the same neighborhood as his father Tommy and we expect better.
You are way to monotone to do a RUclips channel
no disrespect but mediocre sums up tayshaun prince and average sums up richard hamilton rasheed wallace chauncey billups and/or ben wallace and the 04 pistons didn't face the best players ever being #1 TIED wilt chamberlain and bill russell #2 oscar robertson #3 kareem abdul-jabbar #4 michael jordan #5 magic johnson #6 larry bird #7 jerry west and #8 hakeem olajuwon
They beat Shaq and Kobe
yeah and in my OPINION NON top 50 star sums up kobe bryant and in my OPINION the #9 best player ever is still shaquille o'neal
The audio is trash and u can tell u are reading off something
