That piece, Langsamer Satz, by Webern was really beautiful. It reminds me of music from Schindler's List or The Red Violin. I can see the connection to Franz Liszt; Liszt composed beautiful music. Maybe Daphne is cuddlier since you went away for a bit to housesit; she missed you. What a cozy, lovely, long vlog. Thank you. 😺
I finished reading Hedgewitch on Monday from the library, and it's great to hear you also enjoyed reading it. It reminded me of The Worst Witch and the Girl Guides, two things that I love. I completely agree with you, it's wonderful to read a book about how anybody can learn to be a witch. Like other people have mentioned, I'm looking forward to reading Woodwitch and eventually Seawitch when it comes to my local library. The illustrations, maps and covers are really beautiful. Thank you for sharing another lovely reading vlog! Hope you enjoy the next book you read 📖
Love the Hedgewitch series by Skye Mckenna. Seawitch comes out on the 26th September 2024. Love the maps in this series. There seems to be a new one in each book. So glad you like them so far 😍
My choice would be Stephanie Plum from the Janet Evanovich series. It already seems like we’d be friends anyway and she’s always eating good food lol. Love the hour vlogs!
Only just starting but what it is about men and our mugs 😂 my husband has a mug he's carted around since at least uni (minimum 12 years old) has moved countries several times with it and it's still pristine...we had my current favourite about a week before he accidently chipped it washing up and he's broken 2 others completely 😂
Hi Lauren, ❤ your vlogs! You can get a stand frame for your cross stitch which might be easier? Love seeing the creations you make in your cross stitch - the Autumn one looks lovely! I always love to know what you're reading 😊
I am obsessed with Slow Horses. Gary Oldman is a phenomenal actor. I binged watched the first 3 seasons. It has been tough waiting each week for an episode to drop. I have also started reading the books as well: very clever and smart. I too cross stitch. Last Friday I had to get a steroid injection in my shoulder. If I wasn’t such a reserved person, I would have screamed. 😱😢
Your vlogs are the best medicin against frazzled and stressed minds. Came home feeling sh…. Yesterday - watched your vlog and it was like a ray of good karma (is that even a thing? - a ray of good karma? Anyway you know what I mean😉)
If I'm feeling a bit existential, the author who could cheer me up would be Neil Gaiman, but the character would be Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle by Dianna Wynne Jones.
My birthday is Halloween, so absolutely, without a doubt, James Herbert! Now I know he has now sadly passed away, but he is my all time favourite horror writer, who wrote perfectly creepy and atmospheric horrors set in England and let’s face it, what could be better for a Halloween baby such as myself, to go out with a ghost on your birthday!❤❤❤👻👻🧟♀🧟♀🧟♀
while i adore all of Robin Hobb's books, i'd say don't let the Farseer trilogy get in the way of the Liveship Traders trilogy if you're not enjoying the former! they're totally independent of each other and a lot of people read Liveship first (myself included)
I was going to say the same and read Live ship Traders first. I loved all the books, sobbed at the end of the last, but it helps if you love this sort of fantasy.
I also wonder if she might be better off reading them physically instead of listening. Listening to detailed fantasy on audio definitely isn't for everyone

So happy to see more love for the Hedgewitch series! I am eagerly awaiting Sea Witch that is out later this month. 😊
The books that would cheer me up are: Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice! 😊❤️📚
So pleased Hedgewitch is good coz I’m waiting for it coming in my next delivery. Loving the hr plus blogs too 😊

Love these long videos. Love seeing miss Dap.
The author who would cheer me up is Aussie Trent Dalton, brilliant author and seems like an even more brilliant person. 🇦🇺😁
My Alexa went off and I was so confused. Then I remembered you set a timer! 😂 Love your vlogs so much ❤️
I LOVE over 1 hr vlogs!!!!!!

You could try getting a emu stand for your bigger cross stitch projects

Watching the exact same TV as you. There's not much else on at the moment!

Please please please do the strictly podcast this year!!! 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻
No podcast this year, but thanks for your enthusiasm!
The fictional character I would choose to give me a pep talk would be Arthur from the House in the Cerulean Sea
