I know it seems like Void is dragging their feet, but after reading the latest update, I began to grasp just how big of an undertaking they are tackling. They are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to researching how to deliver not only tactically-sound gameplay, but also fun and variable gameplay. For that, I have to thank them for their efforts to ensure that the end product I get my hands on is far superior to anything like it currently on the market.
I'll believe it when I see it. This game has been in development since before their Steam release. And a lot of what has been 'showcased' has yet to make it into the game. Them saying that they're gearing up for 1.0 seems bold at this point. It would be entirely possible for them to do small more frequent releases that allow the community to give feedback on, much like how they did last year. But it's been nearly 9 months with no downloadable update to the game. At this point the newsletters are just noise.
@@jebus456 hollow statement and just gaming communities being themselves, if they did smaller more frequent updates (which they cant if you pay any attention to the scale of their changes and is listed in several of the lewsletters) the community would just complain that they never do anything big and that every update is a nothing burger or bandaid, what theyre doing now is the best thing they CAN do (and the only way itll work)

I really respect Void and love ready and not and hope the game becomes the best it can be!
Honestly mad respect to them. So many companies will just be in perpetual early access but void realised constantly having to make stable releases slowed them down too much and after they got enough money from early access to fund the rest of the development they went all in.
Can't wait. I haven't played the game since February because it was getting stale, even with mods to fix the AI. Really hoping the AI is drastically improved once 1.0 is out 🤞
Might be a hot take, but I really wish they will add a procedural generated mode (like doorkicker) in the future to keep the game fresh. I know well crafted maps are better designed and realistic but eventually it will get repetitive even with mod maps. Having random layouts will help this game a lot imo.

I'm 50/50 on the idea because something like 6 days in Fallujah. Don't get me wrong very fun game handles very well looks very nice sounds amazing the sound is especially amazing but it doesn't have any iconic maps or iconic locations like we see with handmade maps. Not to say procedural generation should be left out entirely but the amount of work that goes into creating that over the creation of handmade maps seems like a different direction for production than I would personally prefer.
well it simply has to be one or the other; once V1.0 hits, they either continue to release regular hand-made maps or release a procedural generation of map layers and create hand-made maps to be the iconic maps every time they make enough new map layers for the procedural generation part of the game @@davidgreen3001
@@davidgreen3001 I agree with you 110% and think the solution is one of those 'staring you in the face' scenarios- have handcrafted maps based on real/iconic locations and a mode dedicated to difficulty tiered procedural generation
Say for 6DIF have actual building layouts from the second battle of fallujah based around a linear progression of individual war stories
For RoN have maps like we have now plus iconic police stand off locations- banks of LA, Waco, technically we already have a ruby ridge stand-in in the form of Ridgeline, maybe some fictional scenarios like playing as the secret service in the Whitehouse or pentagon, etc.
And then for both have the dedicated procedurally generated modes like what 6DIF already has
They could save some time in the future and create a lot more smaller maps and scenarios imo. Think of Tiny Troubles from Doorkickers 2! Most SWAT engagements are to small residences or to carry out warrants, they're not usually over massive areas of land. Some tactical realism would come from small maps where, ideally, no one gets shot at all tbh.
RoN has been a banger for me since release, any update is welcome. Just want to see the project have longevity.

I spoke to one of the Devs at a convention the other day and, from what i was told but cannot repeat, This is gonna be one hell of a fun game.
I want maps that are small houses or appartement for quick game against one or two foes.
The character at 1:53 is for farm.
And the character at 1:50 I think is actually for the coyote map.
We know the beachfront map's in game location name is "Watt beach" via voicelines and license plate textures in the game files.
It should be mentioned as well that the map named "Elephant" on the map overview screen screenshot is confirmed by the devs to be Campus aka School, specifically made as a reference to the movie of the same name.

I really like the direction they’re going, they know the game needs to feel more realistic and gritty. And they’re taking their time trying to make it perfect. This is exactly why I bought the supporter edition, these guys deserve it.
From where this game was when the first multiplayer test dropped to where it’s heading, they can take as much time as they need. I’m so excited

It's kind of insane to see (or more appropriately, hear) a gunfire audio overhaul for a realistic, tactical shooter - with an audience of firearm, CQC enthusiasts and actual professionals - and have it overlook the crack of incoming fire.

Ngl havent touched the game since the beginning of this year. Really hope they make it like SWAT 4 in terms of loadouts and permadeath runs playing on progressively harder maps. Really dumb that I cant have a patrol officer loadout with handgun and a taser. Also let us choose how much ammo we want at expense of movement speed like SWAT 4.

I put about 10 hours into RoN and 70 into battlebit. I love the visuals and attention to detail but these ultra detailed games have zero lifespan. Most of the maps are good once and no desire to try again
I saw some talk in discord a while ago that after 1.0 they may open a new city/setting too. Would be cool to see like South African or Eastern European SWAT teams

well i think the gun bashing animations don't feel like you are doing much.

Nothing, don't expect anything. You'll just be disappointed if you do. Expect nothing from VOID. But somehow VOID has still managed to make me disappointed anyways.

If anyone has played police stories, civilians can be hiding weapons (bad guy dressed as civ). I wish we had more dynamic gameplay like that. And for me, the lack of jogging or running really puts a damper on enjoyment when I have to circle back half the map to help a squadmate or whatever.
Also, where Rd is PvP? These bots are pretty basic tbh, need reduced accuracy for them when lighting face with flashlight and flinch when shot, more "liveliness" when screening to get down, etc. Often I'm screaming for someone to get down and they just stare at me in silence with zero reaction. It breaks imersion for me.
Voice acting for telling people to get down also needs to be more aggressive, ideally the game should allow for real voice processing.
This is 2023 the bar SHOULD be high. Games look better but this still feels like 2010 mechanics, which is disappointing imho.
